Chapter 369: 368, Decision

"Dad! Please reconsider this," Bai Changyuan urged as he looked toward Old Master Bai.

"Yes, let’s discuss this first and then make plans," another voice agreed.

"I think we need to talk it over too," everyone chimed in. They all had reservations about the old master undergoing surgery—especially since the procedure would be performed by a young girl. If anything happened to the old master, it could affect the entire Bai Family.

Old Master Bai raised his hand, signaling for silence, "I’ve already made my decision!"

"But this concerns your life! Dad, please reconsider," they pleaded.

"Big brother is right, so many doctors aren’t sure, how can we feel reassured to hand you over to a young girl?"

"Dad! Let’s wait a bit longer," someone else suggested.

Old Master Bai waved his hand, cutting off further attempts to persuade him, "My mind is made up! There is no further need to discuss this matter!"

After that, he ignored everyone and headed toward his room. He had come out merely to inform them of his decision, not to seek their opinions. For years, the shrapnel in his right leg had prevented him from even taking a short walk with his wife. He was now ready to take a gamble!

"Dad!" Seeing their urging was futile, everyone hurried after him.

Upon returning to his room, Old Master Bai saw his wife chatting with Wang Fei and Luo Shu, a smile spreading across his face. His wife hadn’t smiled in days due to the pain, but today she had finally regained her smile. If he could get that piece of shrapnel removed from his leg, he would be able to take her hand and go for walks with her once again.

"Do they disagree?" Old Lady Bai looked up at Old Master Bai and asked with a smile.

Smiling, Old Master Bai nodded, "I’ve already decided. Whether they agree or not, it won’t change my decision."

"Stubborn old man!" Old Lady Bai teased him with a playful glance. He had always been stubborn; no different in his old age than when he was young. But it was precisely his stubbornness that she adored. If it hadn’t been for that, they might have parted ways long ago.

Old Master Bai chuckled and looked toward Luo Shu, "My girl, when do we start?" He was eager to hope for a miracle to happen.

"We can start anytime!" Luo Shu said with a smile. She really appreciated the deep, enduring bond between Old Master Bai and Old Lady Bai.

"Then let’s do it now," Old Master Bai said with a laugh. He always preferred to act quickly and disliked protracted affairs. Since the decision was made, the sooner they began, the better.

"Then find me a quiet room, and we can start the surgery right away," Luo Shu nodded with a smile.

Old Master Bai hurried out to arrange everything, and upon seeing the younger family members gathered outside, he said sternly, "Find a room for me, and no more words."

"But Dad..."

Old Master Bai swept them with an authoritative gaze, "Is my word no longer valid?!"

"It’s not that, Dad, but this concerns your life! We really can’t be at ease!"

"It’s a decision the old man and I made together. Don’t try to persuade us anymore," Old Lady Bai walked out of the room and addressed everyone.

"Mom! Are you feeling better?" Surprised to see Old Lady Bai stepping out of the room, everyone looked at her in amazement. They were so shocked by the old master’s decision before that they even forgot to ask about her condition. They hadn’t expected the old lady to be able to get up and walk already.

For the past few days, the old lady had been bedridden with pain, receiving treatments from doctors with no effect. But since Luo Shu had arrived, she was able to walk, which could suggest that Luo Shu’s medical skills were highly proficient.

Smiling, Old Lady Bai nodded, "I’m better! Now, everyone go get ready, I’m waiting to see the Little Divine Doctor work her miracle again."

"Mom, do you still feel uncomfortable anywhere?" Wang Fei’s mother stepped forward to ask. Her father’s decision had almost made her drown in the family’s disapproval just moments ago.

Old Lady Bai shook her head with a smile, "It’s all thanks to you for bringing Luo Shu. Otherwise, I don’t know how long that pain would have tormented me." It had been a long time since she felt this much relief.

"Well then, hurry up!" Seeing everyone still standing in place, Old Master Bai shouted.

"Oh! Right!" Bai Changyuan snapped back to reality, glanced at Luo Shu, and went to arrange the room. Seeing his mother recover so quickly eased his mind; he wasn’t as adamant as before. Perhaps it was truly worth a try.

Soon, Bai Changyuan had the room ready.

"Can you really do this alone?" Bai Changyuan asked. No matter how skilled Luo Shu’s medicine was, it seemed impossible for one person to complete a surgery alone.

"No problem!" Luo Shu declared confidently with a smile, then stepped into the room.

After setting up a Shielding Array in the room, Luo Shu approached Old Master Bai. Before entering, she had given him an Elixir that had put him into a deep sleep.

Releasing her Divine Sense, she penetrated into Old Master Bai’s right leg that contained the shrapnel, wrapped the piece of metal with her Divine Sense, and then, with a swift extraction, the shrapnel was pulled out from his leg. The whole process took less than half a minute.

Had it not been necessary to show the shrapnel to the family afterward, she could have turned it to nothingness as soon as her Divine Sense reached it.

After applying some medicine powder to the wound and bandaging it with gauze, Luo Shu sat down on a couch, picking up the Formation Secret Manual to read.

The family waited outside the door, pacing back and forth with great anxiety. For a family like theirs, having a highly honored elder was of paramount importance.

If the old master were to pass away, it would be a considerable blow to their family. They might quickly disappear from the stage of Jinchen without leaving the slightest ripple behind.

"Dad! Will Grandpa be alright? It’s been so long without any noise," Bai Juntu glanced at his watch anxiously.

"He should be fine!" Bai Changyuan was extremely worried too. As time passed, his unease grew. The shrapnel was lodged close to a major artery, and any mishap could lead to severe bleeding. He really didn’t know what he would do if something went wrong.

"Relax! Maternal Grandfather will definitely be fine," Wang Fei reassured firmly, patting her chest. She had absolute confidence in Luo Shu. Besides, her maternal grandfather was her relative; how could she possibly joke about his health?
