Chapter 322: Three hundred and twenty-one, torment
Seeing Meng Yujuan and Luo Shu seemingly discussing herself, Ma Yanni felt somewhat angry, and her gaze swept over Luo Shu icily, with a hint of warning in her eyes. Don’t think you can ignore me just because you saved my husband. I am still your teacher.
Luo Shu shook her head wordlessly. You’re overthinking it!
Ma Yanni withdrew her displeased gaze and continued with the textbook content.
"Weird, she didn’t call on you at all this class, is the sun rising from the west?" Once Ma Yanni left, Meng Yujuan somewhat strangely said. Usually, Ma Yanni would call on Luo Shu at least two or three times every class.
"Isn’t this much better?" Luo Shu said with a smile.
"Could it be that after such a long rest, she’s changed?" Meng Yujuan speculated. She noticed that today, apart from giving Luo Shu a couple of looks when she came in, Ma Yanni didn’t even glance at Luo Shu the rest of the time.
"Why do you care so much, isn’t it a good thing if she’s not targeting me?" Luo Shu smiled as she packed away her textbook and took out the one needed for the next class.
"That’s true," Meng Yujuan replied with a smile.
"Are you coming to the dinner out with the roommates after school today?" Luo Shu asked, looking at Meng Yujuan.
"I won’t be going, I have things to do after school," Meng Yujuan said with a smile. She had already agreed with Li Hui to go shopping after school.
"Is it a date?" Luo Shu asked, raising an eyebrow. She knew that recently Meng Yujuan and Li Hui from the foreign languages department had grown close and seemed to have made their relationship official.
"Yes!" Meng Yujuan nodded with a blushing face. The more she interacted with Li Hui, the more she liked him. He was knowledgeable, considerate, and made her feel secure.
"Okay then, we won’t disturb you and your date. Bring him to see us when you have time." Luo Shu smiled. She was happy for Meng Yujuan that she had found someone she liked.
"Definitely!" agreed Meng Yujuan with a laugh. She also hoped the person she liked would be approved by her close friends.
Song Xiran walked into the room, came up to Luo Shan, and without a word gave her a slap, "Did you or did you not place the Spiritual Gu on Luo Shu’s person?!" So many days had passed, and Luo Shu was still perfectly fine with no signs of being affected by the Spiritual Gu.
Luo Shan, covering her face, looked at Song Xiran with a flash of hatred in her eyes, "I really did put it on her."
"Then why is she still fine now?" Song Xiran demanded coldly. He had gone to great lengths to acquire that Spiritual Gu.
"I don’t know, but I truly did place it on her," Luo Shan insisted firmly to Song Xiran.
"Slap!" Another slap rang across Luo Shan’s face, "Where exactly did you hide the Spiritual Gu?" He clearly didn’t believe her words.
"I’m not lying to you, I really did it," Luo Shan retreated backward, looking at Song Xiran fearfully. She hated him, but she knew full well how terrifying he could be.
Song Xiran smiled chillingly, "We’ll know for sure soon enough." Once the painkiller on her wears off, we’ll see if she still cares about sisterly affection.
Luo Shan immediately understood what Song Xiran meant and crawled quickly to his feet, pleading, "You can’t not give me painkillers, I’ll die without them. I truly did place it, I’m not lying to you." That pain was worse than death; she truly didn’t want to experience it again.
Song Xiran kicked Luo Shan away and sat down on the nearby sofa, waiting for the painkiller’s effect to wear off.
"Please, don’t do this, I really followed your instructions, really..." Luo Shan kept begging, but Song Xiran remained unmoved.
About five or six minutes later, Luo Shan’s complexion dramatically changed, and she began to tremble, roll, scream...
"Where is the Spiritual Gu?" Song Xiran looked down at her, demanding coldly.
"I placed it on Luo Shu... ah... it hurts... please give me the antidote... I really placed it..." Luo Shan screamed out, her face contorted with agony.
Song Xiran was unaffected, watching Luo Shan coldly, "If you don’t tell the truth, prepare to die in pain today!" Unless Luo Shu was a True Cultivator, she wouldn’t even notice the Spiritual Gu. Her father had already tested Luo Shu before, and apart from having a stronger will than others, she was definitely not a True Cultivator.
"I really did... please... please... give me the painkiller..." Luo Shan’s eyes began to lose focus, her consciousness fading. She muttered these few sentences over and over, her voice growing fainter and fainter.
Song Xiran surveyed Luo Shan doubtfully. Could it be that she really did place it? Although she had changed a lot during this time, deep down, she was still the same timid, weak Luo Shan. It seemed that the problem must be with Luo Shu.
Placing a pill on the coffee table, Song Xiran stood up and walked outside.
Luo Shu was dining with roommates when her communication talisman suddenly vibrated, standing up, she said, "I’m going to the restroom."
She hurried to the restroom, locked the door, affixed a Talisman, took out the communication talisman and seeing its color, she activated it, "Yun Han?"
"Luo Shu, didn’t you ask me last time where Spirit Grass for refining Gathering Golden Pills could be found?" Yun Han’s voice came through.
"Where?" asked Luo Shu. She had reached the peak of Foundation Establishment and was only short of the Gathering Golden Pill to break through.
"That kind of Spirit Grass can only be found in the True Cultivation World," Yun Han said. He knew where the Spirit Grass could be found when Luo Shu had asked him before, but he had been wrestling with whether or not to tell her. The True Cultivation World was no ordinary place, and it was terribly dangerous for him and Luo Shu to go there with their current levels of Cultivation.
Luo Shu pondered for a moment, "Do you know where the True Cultivation World is?" She knew it would be dangerous for her to go to the True Cultivation World with her current Strength, but she had to take the risk, not wanting her Cultivation to be stuck at Foundation Establishment forever.
"Are you sure you want to go?" Yun Han asked gravely.
"Positive!" Luo Shu declared firmly.
"Then I’ll come for you tomorrow," Yun Han said.
"Good!" Luo Shu replied, ending the connection with Yun Han. Should she tell Hanmo about it? If she did, he would definitely worry. If she didn’t, and he couldn’t contact her, he would surely worry more. What should she do?
