Chapter 310: 309, displeasing to the eye
One by one, everyone introduced themselves, and soon it was Luo Shu’s turn.
Luo Shu stood up, "Luo Shu, from Cloud City."
"So, she is Luo Shu?"
"I didn’t expect Luo Shu to be so pretty, I thought she would be some big and burly, rude person."
"She even dared to hit Song Xuemo, impressive!"
"I guess her background must be really powerful, otherwise how could she hit Song Xuemo and get away with it scot-free?"
In the past few days, the name Luo Shu had almost resonated throughout Jinchen University.
Anyone who knew Song Xuemo’s background was aware that since she entered the university, she had been arrogant and domineering, picking on whoever she disliked. Luo Shu was the first to dare to hit her, and moreover, she was the only one who did it without facing any consequences.
Luo Shu couldn’t help but give a bitter smile upon hearing everyone’s discussions. She had originally thought that people wouldn’t know that she was the Little Divine Doctor and that she could attend school quietly. However, she didn’t expect to encounter the catastrophe that was Song Xuemo, which put her in the spotlight once again.
Ma Yanni glanced at Luo Shu, slightly furrowing her brows. She had also heard about Luo Shu hitting Song Xuemo. She looked down on people like Luo Shu who, relying on their family’s power, did whatever they pleased in the school.
After everyone finished introducing themselves, Ma Yanni picked up the textbook on the desk, cleared her throat, and said, "Now let’s start the content of the first lesson."
As Luo Shu listened to Ma Yanni fluently explaining the lesson, for a moment she felt as if she had returned to her previous life, to the scene of her attending her first class, and unconsciously, her thoughts slowly drifted away.
After Ma Yanni finished the first section, she looked at Luo Shu and asked, "Luo Shu, please explain what ’diagnostic observation’ means and what ’conclusion’ refers to."
Luo Shu stood up to answer upon hearing Ma Yanni’s question, "The so-called diagnostic observation is the meaning of examination and verification. For instance, through our checks, through our inquiries, we obtain various pathological information. Conclusion, on the other hand, is the analysis and judgment, that is, the identification and assessment of the condition." These basic concepts were naturally not difficult for her.
"Very good!" Ma Yanni was a bit surprised. She had asked Luo Shu to answer partly out of a desire to trouble her, but also because she noticed that Luo Shu was evidently not payning attention to the class and wanted to embarrass her in front of everyone. Unexpectedly, she had answered so precisely.
"Luo Shu, don’t you feel that Teacher Ma is somewhat targeting you on purpose?" As soon as Luo Shu sat down, Meng Yujuan asked in a low voice.
Luo Shu chuckled, "I don’t think so." From the very beginning, she knew from the way Ma Yanni looked at her that the latter didn’t like her much. However, she naturally didn’t care about these things; after all, she wasn’t Yan Country Currency that needed everyone to like her.
Ma Yanni saw Luo Shu whispering with Meng Yujuan and her brows immediately knitted together, "Luo Shu, tell us what ’diagnostic observation’ means."
Meng Yujuan gave Luo Shu a look that said, "See, I told you so."
Luo Shu shook her head with a helpless smile and stood up.
The students present also looked at Ma Yanni with surprise, and some even speculated whether there was a personal grudge between Ma Yanni and Luo Shu.
"Luo Shu, your turn to answer the question I just posed," Ma Yanni said, a flicker of embarrassment crossing her face. She had impulsively called on Luo Shu in the moment, but having done so, she had no choice but to continue with her question.
Looking at Ma Yanni, Luo Shu replied with an amused smile, "Diagnostic observation refers to examining a person’s spirit, complexion, physique, demeanor, tongue appearance, vein patterns, skin, facial features, orifices, as well as excrements, secretions, and the form, color, and quality of such substances. Are you satisfied with my answer, Teacher?"
Acknowledging with an embarrassed nod, Ma Yanni said, "Sit down." She hadn’t expected Luo Shu to know the answer so clearly. Had she studied ancient medicine?
For the rest of the class, Ma Yanni did not call on Luo Shu again, though her gaze still flickered toward her from time to time.
As the bell rang to signal the end of class, Ma Yanni put down her textbook and glanced at Luo Shu one more time before leaving the classroom.
"Luo Shu, do you know Teacher Ma?" Meng Yujuan asked. Sitting next to Luo Shu, she had a strong impression of the situation; throughout the class, Ma Yanni had looked at Luo Shu at least ten times.
With a helpless expression, Luo Shu laughed and shook her head.
"Have you studied medicine before?" Meng Yujuan inquired, recalling the medicine Luo Shu had administered to her. She had assumed her injury was severe enough to cause pain for several days, but after taking Luo Shu’s medicine, the pain never came. It was miraculous!
"I’ve studied a bit." Luo Shu nodded.
"No wonder you could answer Teacher Ma’s questions so fluently," Meng Yujuan said with a sudden realization.
Song Xuemo had been lying in the hospital for a full three days before she regained consciousness. Upon hearing the doctor’s declaration that her right leg might be disabled, she grew so furious that she smashed everything on the bedside table.
Song Xiran pushed open the door to the ward, saw the mess on the floor, and could not help but frown, "What’s all this about?"
"Brother, the doctor says my leg won’t heal, and I might end up disabled," Xuemo said, starting to cry as she remembered the doctor’s words. "I don’t want to be disabled, Brother, can you think of a way to help me?" Throughout her life, her brother had been her greatest support.
"Stop crying, you’ll get better," Song Xiran said as he walked over and comforted her by patting her back. Knowing the hospital’s prognosis, he had felt an intense urge to kill Luo Shu on the spot.
Xuemo was his only sister and although she was a bit spoiled, she was the most adorable girl in the world to him. Unfortunately, she was not suited for cultivation; otherwise, he would have pleaded with their grandfather to let her train in their ways.
Now her leg was broken, and according to the doctors, not only had the bone been shattered, but the meridians in her leg had also necrotized. He knew that the only way to heal her leg was to approach the Yin Corpse Sect and to demand a healing elixir from the sect leader. However, obtaining such an elixir was easier said than done.
"Brother, has the person who injured me been killed? Have you avenged me yet?" Xuemo asked, looking up at Song Xiran with tear-stained eyes. Whoever had inflicted such harm on her would not be let off by the Song Family.
Song Xiran sighed deeply and shook his head, "Not yet!" Their grandfather was intent on bringing Luo Shu back to the Song Family; even if he wanted to kill Luo Shu, there was nothing he could do.
"Why not?" Xuemo asked in disbelief.
She remembered that in her first year of high school, a boy had touched her hand, and upon finding out, her family had the boy’s hand chopped off. Eventually, the boy bled out and died because they did not allow him to go to the hospital; instead, they watched as he bled to death.
Just for touching her hand, the boy had paid with his life. Now that she had been slapped and her leg had been broken, why was her assailant not killed in reprisal?
