Chapter 295: Two hundred ninety four, Bell-Cauldron Script

"Hello!" Lu Hanmo nodded to Yang Mujing.

"Young Master Lu, what is your relationship with Luo Shu?" Yang Mujing’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he looked at Lu Hanmo. He had long admired Lu Hanmo and was thrilled to meet him in person today.

"She is my fiancée," Lu Hanmo said, slightly curling his lips in a smile. He enjoyed introducing her that way to others.

"Does that mean you’ll come here often in the future?" Yang Mujing asked, full of hope. That way, he could have more interaction with Lu Hanmo.

"If Shushu is here," Lu Hanmo said, glancing at Luo Shu, who offered him a small smile in return.

"That’s fantastic! You must let me know when you come," Yang Mujing exclaimed excitedly.

"Yang Mujing, did you have breakfast?" Luo Shu asked.

Yang Mujing nodded, "I did, weren’t you planning to visit the library at Zhongqing University? I happen to be free today and can take you there." He had cleared his schedule after Luo Shu mentioned it that day.

"Sorry! I need to stop by Jinchen University today, so I might not have time," Luo Shu apologized.

"No worries, next time is also fine," Yang Mujing said with a smile, waving his hand. It would be even better if Lu Hanmo could join them next time. After all, Lu Hanmo was a graduate of Zhongqing University—he was his senior.

"Shushu, how about we go to Zhongqing University first, and head to Jinchen University in the afternoon?" Lu Hanmo suggested. He clearly knew what she was going to the library for.

"That sounds fine," Luo Shu agreed, nodding her head.

Having made their decision, the four of them took Lu Hanmo’s car and headed towards Zhongqing University.

Here, green trees cast ample shade, and the campus contained buildings from various eras, naturally forming diverse architectural clusters that created a suitable environment for teaching, studying, and living.

The four of them entered the library and were immediately embraced by a strong aroma of books. Since it was still summer vacation, there weren’t many people in the library, so their arrival didn’t attract much attention.

The library’s collection at Zhongqing University reportedly totals over four million volumes, forming a comprehensive collection system predominately featuring natural science and engineering technology literature, with an assortment of humanities, social sciences, and management science documents across various types and media.

Luo Shu briefly scanned the area, realizing that finding the material she was looking for among so many books wouldn’t be easy. Fortunately, the books were well-organized and labeled by category.

"Shushu, let’s check over there," Lu Hanmo said, taking Luo Shu to an area especially for ancient thread-bound books.

The books here were quite old, and the text on the sheepskin scrolls was definitely not in any modern script. If the library had books describing those texts, this section was most likely to have them.

Luo Shu glanced over the books on the shelves. Just the thread-bound ancient books numbered in the hundreds of thousands.

"What book are you looking for? I can help you find it," Yang Mujing offered, stepping forward. Seeing them heading straight this way, he knew they must be looking for something specific.

"I can help too," Yun Han chimed in. Although his strength hadn’t fully recovered yet, he had Divine Sense. With Divine Sense, he could scan these books in just five or six minutes.

After some thought, Luo Shu stretched out her hand and wrote a character in her palm with her finger, "I’m looking for text similar to this."

"That’s Bell-Cauldron Script," Yun Han recognized the character Luo Shu had written immediately.

Bell-Cauldron Script originated in the Shang Dynasty and became prevalent in the Zhou Dynasty, evolving from oracle bone script. It was named for its use on bells and cauldrons. These characters are rarely seen in this era, but they are still in use in the True Cultivation World.

"Bell-Cauldron Script?" Luo Shu said, surprised, looking at Yun Han. She hadn’t expected him to know that.

Yun Han smiled and nodded, his gaze scanning the shelf before quickly spotting a book about Bell-Cauldron Script.

He reached for the book and handed it to Luo Shu, "Take a look at this."

Luo Shu happily nodded, taking the book to flip through it. Her face immediately lit up with joy, "Yes, this is the script I was looking for."

Lu Hanmo frowned slightly. He knew that Yun Han had found the book so quickly by using Divine Sense. After reaching Foundation Establishment, he also developed a hint of Divine Sense, but he hadn’t used it yet and wasn’t sure how. Yun Han was indeed a threat to him.

Luo Shu turned to Lu Hanmo, excitedly handing him the book, "Hanmo, take a look!"

Lu Hanmo nodded and lowered his eyes to the book in Luo Shu’s hands.

The book detailed the origin of the Bell-Cauldron Script and some of its annotations. With approximately three thousand and five characters, of which one thousand eight hundred and four are identifiable, remembering these characters wouldn’t be difficult for them with their memories.

Lu Hanmo tried releasing a trace of Divine Sense, slowly permeating the book in front of him. It wasn’t very smooth at the start, but after a few tries, he discovered that reading with Divine Sense was indeed simpler. He could remember the whole book with just a light sweep of Divine Sense—it really was a wonderful thing.

Luo Shu quickly flipped through the book. In fact, her Divine Sense had already memorized the content. After reaching Foundation Establishment last time, she had developed a hint of Divine Sense and had been trying to use it recently. If Yun Han hadn’t offered to help them search, she had planned to use Divine Sense to look for it.

Closing the book, Luo Shu now knew what the text on the sheepskin scroll was. She had looked at the scroll many times before and had long memorized the script on it.

Only after understanding these characters did she realize that the sheepskin scroll was incomplete. Thinking of the Male Cultivator who possessed the scroll, she abandoned the idea of taking the sheepskin scroll for now. At least, it wasn’t the right time yet.

The group left Zhongqing University and arrived at a restaurant nearby, recommended by Yang Mujing. Many students from Zhongqing University liked to eat here.

Since it was summer vacation, there weren’t many diners in the restaurant. Luo Shu and her companions found a vacant spot to sit down without difficulty.

"Hello! Can we get a menu, please?" Yang Mujing waved at the waiter.

The waiter came over and handed the menu to Yang Mujing.

"Thank you!" Yang Mujing took the menu and handed it to Lu Hanmo, "Young Master Lu, you pick."

"You go ahead," Lu Hanmo said softly.

Yang Mujing glanced at Luo Shu and Yun Han; seeing that neither planned to order, he accepted the honorable task, opened the menu, and after flipping through a few pages, asked in surprise, "Excuse me, why is the menu different from before?"

"We have a new owner, and this menu was created by the new management," the waiter explained with a smile.
