Chapter 274: Two hundred seventy-three, good news
Luo Shu pulled Lu Hanmo over to Yun Han’s side, "This is Yun Han, he’s the one who saved me this time." Although her encountering danger was related to Yun Han, without him, she wouldn’t have seen the world that surpassed her imagination.
"Thank you!" Lu Hanmo stretched out his hand and sincerely thanked Yun Han.
"No need to be polite! It’s what I should do." Yun Han smiled and shook hands with Lu Hanmo, then looked at Luo Shu, "I’m leaving now, we’ll meet again in the future."
"Goodbye!" Luo Shu waved at Yun Han with a smile, watching his retreating figure.
When she turned her gaze back to Lu Hanmo, Luo Shu realized that his face was covered with stubble, his eyes were bloodshot, and he looked utterly worn out. Her heart ached as she grasped Lu Hanmo’s hand, "Have you not slept for a long time?" She knew he must be worried sick about her to look like this.
Lu Hanmo smiled slightly, "Let’s go back." He didn’t want to talk much about himself; as long as she was back, no matter how much hardship he had to endure, he would gladly accept it.
Looking at Lu Hanmo’s haggard face, Luo Shu was helpless and heartbroken, "You fool, you’re not allowed to do this ever again, or else I’ll ignore you."
"Okay!" Lu Hanmo smiled and nodded.
"I’m serious!" Luo Shu said earnestly.
"I know! I’ll listen to you." Lu Hanmo said pleasurably as he pulled Luo Shu’s hand and walked with her down the mountain.
Arriving home, Luo Shu wanted to call everyone to let them know she was safe but changed her mind when she looked at the time. She realized that since her rebirth, she had been living a life that kept everyone on edge.
She asked Lu Hanmo to wait for her on the sofa and went to the room to get a razor. This razor was left behind by Luo Qianyu the last time he was here.
Coming back, she saw that Lu Hanmo had already prepared the towel and hot water, smiling at her as he waited.
Luo Shu gave Lu Hanmo a reproachful look and walked up to him, "I’ll shave your beard for you; you really do look terrible like this."
Lu Hanmo chuckled and pulled Luo Shu into his arms, deliberately pricking her neck gently with the stubble on his chin, "Wife, are you finding me insufferable?"
"That’s prickly, stop it!" Luo Shu laughed and pushed Lu Hanmo’s face away.
Lu Hanmo became addicted to the game, and after playfully fussing for a while, Luo Shu began to carefully shave Lu Hanmo’s beard with the razor.
"Ouch! I nicked your face." Luo Shu stopped and looked at the cut on Lu Hanmo’s chin with distress. This was her first time shaving someone’s beard, and her hands were inevitably unsteady.
"It’s okay, keep going!" Lu Hanmo said indifferently.
"I’ll treat the wound first, then you can shave yourself later." Luo Shu placed the razor in Lu Hanmo’s hands. She was afraid of nicking his face again.
Lu Hanmo put the razor back in Luo Shu’s hands and said with a smile, "Keep shaving, we’ll treat the wound afterwards."
"Treat the wound my foot." Luo Shu glared at Lu Hanmo but continued to shave him, this time being even more cautious.
After finally finishing the shave, Luo Shu carefully examined her work and smiled with satisfaction, "Not bad!" Apart from the earlier nick, the rest had been smooth sailing.
"My Shushu is so capable, from now on I’ll leave my beard in your hands to shave," Lu Hanmo said with a good-humored smile.
"In your dreams!" Luo Shu retorted with a laugh, giving Lu Hanmo a playful glare.
Lu Hanmo’s smile grew more joyful, and he reached out to pull Luo Shu to sit beside him, "Tell me what happened this time, how did you get injured?"
Luo Shu nodded and recounted the incident in detail to Lu Hanmo.
Lu Hanmo furrowed his brow, "If that male cultivator isn’t dealt with, he’ll always be a lingering threat. Shushu, hand over that sheepskin scroll to me." She had just mentioned that the female cultivator who was chasing her had a piece of turtle shell that could detect the presence of the sheepskin scroll, and he wondered if that male cultivator might have one as well.
Luo Shu shook her head in disagreement, "If I give it to you, you’ll also be in danger. It’s better to find a place to seal the scroll for now. We can retrieve it once we find the relevant information about those symbols." She had disguised herself this time, so the enemy probably wouldn’t recognize her.
"Alright! We’ll do it your way," Lu Hanmo agreed.
Looking at Lu Hanmo’s haggard face, Luo Shu smiled helplessly, "Look at you, you should get some sleep first. We’ll look for a place to hide the sheepskin scroll when it’s light out."
Lu Hanmo nodded, stood up, and began walking toward their room, pulling Luo Shu’s hand. When he first purchased this place, Shushu had arranged a room for him, just in case he needed a place to stay when he came over.
Luo Qianyu was about to leave the house when he received a call from Luo Shu. Knowing she was safe, he finally felt relieved.
"Brother, I have some good news for you," Luo Shu’s voice came through the phone with a hint of excitement.
"What is it?" Luo Qianyu asked with a laugh. There couldn’t be any better news than her safe return to make him happier.
"I found the Nine-Leaf Lotus Seed. Big aunt’s meridians can be healed," Luo Shu declared joyfully. Her biggest gain from visiting the Dual Cultivation Sect this time was obtaining the Nine-Leaf Lotus Seed.
"Really? That’s fantastic!" Luo Qianyu said excitedly. His mother’s health had always been a concern for him and his father. Despite their renowned medical skills in the eyes of others, they had been unable to cure the person dearest to them, which was disheartening.
"Mhm, Big aunt would definitely be thrilled to know," Luo Shu said with a smile.
"When are you coming back?" Luo Qianyu inquired. Naturally, for such good news, he wanted to be there as well.
"Tomorrow." If it weren’t for some matters she had to deal with today, she would have gone back already.
"Good! Then I will return tomorrow too," Luo Qianyu decided.
After hanging up the phone in high spirits, Luo Qianyu checked the time on his wrist, then stepped toward the door. It was a good day to visit the school and maybe request a few more days off.
Walking toward the bus station, Luo Qianyu saw a familiar figure from afar, a smile playing on his lips.
Yang Muxue stood on the platform, and her slightly furrowed brows revealed her current unease. It had been several days since she last saw Luo Qianyu. She knew she shouldn’t miss him, yet she couldn’t help herself. To see him, she had once again decided to take the bus, but despite the days that passed, she hadn’t caught sight of him.
Distractedly boarding the bus, Yang Muxue took a seat at an empty double seat and opened a book to read.
Feeling someone sit next to her, Yang Muxue frowned slightly and was about to shift to the side when she stopped herself. Surprised and delighted, she turned toward the person beside her. Could it really be him?
