Chapter 259: Two hundred fifty-eight, great achievement
Lu Hanmo packed his luggage and said to Luo Shu, "We’re almost at the station, let’s wait at the door."
"Okay!" Luo Shu smiled and nodded her head.
Ever since Xu Liping found out about her relationship with Lu Hanmo, Xu Liping had not entered the sleeping car again, instead giving up her bunk to Wang Zhiyong. No matter how much Xu Lisha tried to persuade her, she refused to listen.
However, this didn’t affect Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo at all. To them, Xu Liping was just a stranger. They saw no need to worry themselves over a stranger.
The two of them passed by the hot water room, just in time to run into Xu Liping coming out.
Xu Liping paused for a moment, then, regaining her composure, glared at Luo Shu and headed towards her own carriage. She knew she couldn’t blame Luo Shu, as she was the more recent party, but she just couldn’t help feeling annoyed.
Luo Shu withdrew her gaze and silently shook her head, continuing towards the exit with Lu Hanmo. She couldn’t stop others from liking Lu Hanmo, and as long as Lu Hanmo didn’t like them back, it was enough for her. She had no reason to be jealous over such trivial matters or take it out on Lu Hanmo.
The train slowly came to a stop, and Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo disembarked.
As soon as they stepped off the platform, they saw Zhao Aishu and Aunt Chen waiting there already. Afraid they would worry, she had called her godmother from Bodhisattva Mountain City train station.
Waving to everyone, Luo Shu pulled Lu Hanmo towards them, "Godmother! Uncle! Auntie!"
"You’re finally back; we were so worried about you," Aunt Chen said cheerfully, scrutinizing Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo. The two kids looked perfect together.
"Indeed, why can’t you just sit still!" Zhao Aishu said reproachfully. Since she could walk again, she had decided to stay longer at her hometown this time, mingling with family and relatives. After all, she hadn’t been able to return for many years due to her legs.
This time, coming back from her hometown, she brought some local specialties for Luo Shu. Only later, upon asking Old Xu, did she learn that Luo Shu had gone out again—and to the distant Bodhisattva Mountain City at that.
"I’m sorry for worrying you! I’ve brought some specialties from Bodhisattva Mountain City for you, they’re really delicious!" Luo Shu said apologetically to everyone. Before she and Lu Hanmo returned, they had shopped around Bodhisattva Mountain City and bought some local products. Unlike the future world, where you could simply order specialties from anywhere with a delivery service, this era didn’t have that convenience.
Lu Hanmo took out some dried bamboo shoots and cured meat from his luggage and handed them to Aunt Chen and Zhao Aishu.
"You two kids are so thoughtful!" Aunt Chen and her husband said, beaming with joy.
"Luo Shu, I also brought back some specialties for you from my hometown. Come get them at my house later," Zhao Aishu said with a smile.
"Godmother, I need to accompany Hanmo to the training camp; I’ll visit you tomorrow," Luo Shu replied. The meteorites they had brought back were all in her space.
"Alright then! I’ll buy some good ingredients and wait for you tomorrow," Zhao Aishu said, nodding with a smile.
After parting ways with Aunt Chen and Zhao Aishu, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo drove off to the Guard.
Mo Shaoze, having heard that Lu Hanmo had safely returned, had been waiting for him at the training camp’s parking lot for a while, his long-held anxieties finally easing up at the sight of the approaching car.
Lu Hanmo got out of the car and went around to the trunk, pulling out two large bags of meteorites he had previously packed. In Shushu’s space, there were many more large meteorites, but naturally, those could not be taken out. Otherwise, it would become apparent that they had something unusual about them.
"You’re finally back, kiddo!" Mo Shaoze stepped forward, thumping Lu Hanmo’s chest with his fist, embracing him briefly with a strong pat on the back before letting him go. Even though his body had returned these past days, his heart had remained in Dark Drain. Despite knowing Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo were not ordinary people, he couldn’t help but worry until he saw them safe and sound.
Lu Hanmo smiled and punched Mo Shaoze back. He could understand Mo Shaoze’s feelings; if he’d been the one left behind in Dark Drain, he would have been just as concerned.
Glancing at the two bags on the ground, Mo Shaoze asked uncertainly, "These bags are full of meteorites?"
"Yep!" Lu Hanmo nodded and turned to Luo Shu, "Shushu, you go to my dorm first, I’ll come back soon."
"Okay!" Luo Shu replied with a smile and started walking towards Lu Hanmo’s dormitory.
Just as Lu Hanmo was about to pick up the bags on the ground, Mo Shaoze had already lifted them, "I’ll carry them." He knew Lu Hanmo must be tired after these past days.
"Let’s go!" Lu Hanmo didn’t bother being polite with Mo Shaoze and put his hand on his shoulder, walking together towards Li Changhe’s office.
Knowing that Lu Hanmo was returning, Liu Changhe and others had been eagerly awaiting him.
Seeing Lu Hanmo and Mo Shaoze coming, Liu Changhe walked up with a smile, clapping Lu Hanmo on the shoulder, "I’m glad you’re safe; we’ve been so worried these past days." At first, when he told Luo Shu about Lu Hanmo, he had regretted it, fearing she would end up lost like the others, which would have made him feel even more responsible for Lu Hanmo’s situation.
It was only later, after Mo Shaoze returned and explained that Luo Shu had found them and got them out of Dark Drain, did he realize the reason Luo Shu was so capable was that she was from the Divine Doctor Family, an Ancient Martial Artist.
"Sorry for worrying you!" Lu Hanmo said with a smile.
Liu Changhe heartily nodded, his gaze landing on the two bags Mo Shaoze was holding, "What’s in those?"
Mo Shaoze put the bags down on the floor and said with a grin, "They’re meteorites."
"Meteorites!" The onlookers’ eyes lit up. They had thought that Lu Hanmo returning safely would have been fortunate enough, but now they were shocked to find out he had even completed the mission.
"Good job! Great job indeed! You’ve done a huge service this time! Hahaha..." Liu Changhe laughed loudly. After the last mission, he’d had the intention to promote Lu Hanmo, and now the kid had made another notable contribution. He truly lived up to being Master Lu’s grandson!
"If we can extract the G3 element from these meteorites, it would be a tremendous contribution to the whole of Yan Country."
"Yeah! Then our Yan Country’s Guard weaponry would be ahead of other countries," the onlookers said one after another, smiling in admiration at Lu Hanmo.
