Chapter 253: Two hundred and fifty-two, look separately

Satisfied, he patted his full belly, looking towards the figures of Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo snuggled together, everyone’s eyes filled with envy!

For Luo Shu to come to such a dangerous place for the sake of Lu Hanmo was something no other woman could achieve. Her bravery, determination, excellence, and deep affection for Lu Hanmo had deeply impressed every single one of them.

Noticing everyone’s gazes, Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu, who were in conversation, both looked up towards them at the same time.

The crowd quickly averted their gaze, pretending to chat nonchalantly. No matter whether they might die here in the future, if they could live for one more day, they would face it in their best state.

"Hanmo, let’s get them out of here first thing tomorrow," Luo Shu withdrew her gaze, whispering to Lu Hanmo. She had a space of her own; once they entered her space, she could transport them out.

Lu Hanmo frowned, remaining silent, tightening his grip on Luo Shu’s hand. They were all his brothers, and naturally, he did not wish for them to die here. But if Shushu’s space were to be exposed, it could bring endless trouble for her. This was a dilemma for him.

"I have a way, don’t worry about me," Luo Shu said with a smile. How could she not understand his thoughts? It was precisely because she knew he was a man of deep feelings and righteousness that she loved him even more.

If the roles were reversed, and she had to choose between him and her kin, she likewise didn’t know what she would do. On one side was kinship, on the other, love—she was unwilling to give up either.

"Shushu, thank you!" Lu Hanmo reached out and pulled Luo Shu into his embrace. To be with her in this lifetime, he had no regrets.

Luo Shu looked up at Lu Hanmo, playfully blinking at him, "Do we still need to be so formal with each other?"

Lu Hanmo smiled and shook his head. There was certainly no need for formalities between them. His "thank you" was a gratitude expressed on behalf of his brothers. Without her, they would probably have remained there forever.

Time slowly passed by, and the black shadows outside the Formation were still furiously assaulting it.

At this moment, aside from Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo, everyone else had fallen into a deep sleep.

After moving everyone into the space, Luo Shu handed over a stack of Talismans to Lu Hanmo, "Be careful yourself!"

After speaking, she too entered the space. The two had already discussed that Hanmo, with his current Strength, was much stronger than her. Alone, he could break out faster than the two of them together. Once the others were out of the Dark Drain, they would then go to the small lake to take a look.

Lu Hanmo looked at the space in his hand, as tiny as a speck of dust, smiled faintly, and slipped it into his pocket before flashing out of the Formation.

The black shadows immediately swarmed towards Lu Hanmo.

Lu Hanmo raised his hand and scattered Talismans as he ran towards the exit of the Dark Drain. Despite the numerous obstacles, his current Strength made breaking through not too much of a challenge.

In just three days, Lu Hanmo had reached the exit of the Dark Drain.

He paused, turning his head to look behind him, and for some reason, those dense black shadows had disappeared without a trace.

With a puzzled frown, just as Lu Hanmo was about to reach into his pocket for the space, Luo Shu had already appeared before him with a beaming smile.

After bringing everyone out of the space, Luo Shu took out some medicine powder and neutralized the effects of the Sedative on them.

Before long, everyone gradually awakened, their minds still groggy, looking around in confusion.

"Where are we?" Mo Shaoze asked, looking doubtfully at Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo.

"It should be the exit of the Dark Drain," Luo Shu said vaguely.

"Are we out already? How did we get out?"

"No wonder the air is so fresh here," the faces of the crowd were full of the joy of having survived a disaster. They had thought they would die inside, but now they could hardly believe that they were alive and had made it out.

"We don’t know either; we woke up here," Luo Shu said with a smile. Whether they believed her or not was none of her concern. Let them guess as they wished.

The crowd stood up from the ground. Luo Shu’s words, of course, they did not believe, but no matter the reason, they didn’t want to speculate. Since Luo Shu and the instructor were not telling them, there must be a reason.

"Should we cancel our mission this time?" Mo Shaoze inquired.

"You all return first, I’ll take care of the remaining task," Lu Hanmo said to the crowd. They had come to the Dark Drain this time to search for a trace element codenamed G3, which was greatly beneficial to the weapon research they were conducting.

Finding it would be a major breakthrough for Yan Country’s Guard. The reason for searching in the Dark Drain was that a month ago, the Astronomical Observation Bureau had reported a meteor shower in this area. Rare trace elements are typically extracted from meteorites.

"Are you going back in?" Mo Shaoze expressed his concern. He knew Lu Hanmo was capable, but the horrors of the Dark Drain far exceeded their imaginations, particularly the inexplicable black shadows.

Lu Hanmo nodded, "I will go and have another look. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll come right back."

Mo Shaoze and the rest exchanged glances, "Alright then! Stay safe." With their current Strength, following him was less about helping and more about not holding him back. If not for Lu Hanmo earlier on, they would have already been devoured by those black shadows.

After seeing Mo Shaoze and the others off, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo turned and walked towards the Dark Drain. They were curious as to why those black shadows had not followed them out.

After about half an hour’s walk, the black shadows reappeared but stayed at a distance, merely watching them without approaching.

"Could there be something here that they’re afraid of?" Luo Shu surmised as she surveyed the surroundings. If Xiao Qing weren’t in seclusion, she could have asked it.

"Let’s have a look," Lu Hanmo agreed.

"We should search separately then. This is a communication talisman; just activate it, and you’ll be able to find me," Luo Shu handed Lu Hanmo a freshly made talisman, belonging to the Primary high-level category, though she had not tested it yet.

Lu Hanmo nodded, concerned, "Be careful, and contact me if anything happens." He would definitely not have agreed to her suggestion if she didn’t have her space.

"I’ll go over there," Luo Shu said with a smile, heading to the right.

Lu Hanmo watched Luo Shu walk away until her figure had vanished from sight, then turned and made his way to the left.
