Chapter 240: Two hundred and thirty-nine, rescued

"Bang! Bang!" Two abrupt gunshots rang out.

The two men beside Luo Zheng fell to the ground without warning.

Luo Zheng stared blankly at the two people on the ground who had already breathed their last, unable to react for a moment. What just happened?

Fu Yi and Qian Wei emerged from behind the trees and, seeing the gunshot wound on Luo Zheng’s leg, frowned simultaneously.

"Fu Yi! Qian Wei!" Luo Zheng looked at the two with surprise and joy. Seeing them, he knew he was safe.

"Sit down, I’ll stop the bleeding for you first," Fu Yi said in a calm voice. He used to be a Guard Member and had learned some emergency methods to stop bleeding.

"Okay!" Luo Zheng nodded happily. Now that the danger was gone, he felt relaxed all over and began to feel the searing, heart-wrenching pain.

After tending to Luo Zheng’s wound, Fu Yi carried Luo Zheng on his back towards the outside of the forest. It was fortunate that they had found Luo Zheng in time; had he been taken back to the Song Family, it would have been much harder to rescue him.

Upon receiving the news that Luo Zheng was safe, Luo Shu breathed a sigh of relief. Although she said she didn’t care, her heart inevitably couldn’t help but worry.

Song Xiran was leaning leisurely against the window, casually swirling a glass of red wine in his hand, watching Luo Shan being bullied downstairs. These past few days, Luo Shan had learned to fight back. Although the change wasn’t significant, it had already shown the effect he had been hoping for.

"Knock, knock, knock!" A gentle knocking sound came from the door.

"Come in!" Song Xiran spoke lazily.

The door was pushed open, and a subordinate walked in, "Young Master! A Qi and the others are dead, Luo Zheng has been taken back to the Lu family."

Song Xiran’s expression darkened instantly, and he smashed the wine glass in his hand to the ground in anger, "Get out!"

The subordinate quickly retreated out of the room.

With a cold look on his face, Song Xiran stared outside, his fists slowly clenching, "Lu Hanmo, just you wait! I won’t let you get away with this!"

Life went on smoothly, and Luo Shu spent most of her time at home practicing cultivation until Luo Qianyu returned and she realized that the Lantern Festival had passed and a new year had officially ended.

"I’m going to the factory, do you want to come with me?" Luo Qianyu, after wiping her mouth with a handkerchief, smiled at Luo Shu, who was eating breakfast.

"Hmm!" Luo Shu nodded and put down her chopsticks.

Luo Qianyu stood up with a smile, collecting the bowls from the table. Whenever she was with Luo Shu, she just couldn’t help wanting to take care of her. Maybe it was because she was her sister, after all!

The two drove to the factory where the walls of the factory had already been painted snow-white, with no trace of fire damage to be found.

Technicians were currently leading the workers, explaining how to use the machinery.

Some workers were moving in the newly delivered medicinal herbs into the warehouse. Everything seemed well-ordered and methodical.

"The preparations are almost done. By the twentieth of the first lunar month, the factory can formally start operations," said Lew Mucheng.

Luo Shu and Luo Qianyu nodded in satisfaction and walked towards the warehouse. It would take a while before the medicinal herbs from Siyang Village would arrive. The herbs that had arrived this time had been transferred from the Divine Doctor Family.

Upon entering the warehouse, they saw that the herbs had already been neatly categorized and arranged.

The worker responsible for managing the herbs was recording their varieties and quantities.

Luo Shu and Luo Qianyu stepped forward to check the herbs. These herbs were from the Divine Doctor Family, so naturally, there was no need to worry about any mistakes. The check was actually to add some Spiritual Spring Water to the herbs.

Spiritual Spring Water was the key to Snow Skin Cream. Without it, Snow Skin Cream would still be effective, but it definitely wouldn’t achieve the effects it had now.

"Brother, I need to go to Jinchen tomorrow," said Luo Shu. Luo Zheng’s injury had almost healed, and it was time to bring him back.

"To pick up Luo Zheng?" Luo Qianyu asked with a smile. He naturally knew about Luo Zheng and Luo Shan going back to the Song Family.

Luo Shu nodded with a bitter smile, "No matter what choices he made, he is still my brother after all." She had wanted to bring Luo Zheng back days ago, but she held back the urge. She needed to leave him hanging for a few days to let him know she was angry with him.

Luo Qianyu ruffled Luo Shu’s hair with a smile, "You are still too kind."

Luo Shu smiled. She never thought of herself as kind. At least when dealing with enemies, she would never show mercy. She would eventually take down the Song Family.

Outside the window, the incessant chirping of birds only added to the already gloomy mood, making it even more irritable.

Luo Zheng sat on the hospital bed, his attention absentmindedly fixed on the newspaper. These past few days, he had been hoping his eldest sister would come to see him, to take him back home, but each day ended in disappointment. He knew the reason his sister hadn’t come to see him was that she was angry with him.

"Xiao Zheng, does your wound still hurt?" Aunt Li and her husband came in with a thermos, worried sick since they learned Luo Zheng was injured, but thankfully his life wasn’t in danger.

Luo Zheng put down the newspaper and shook his head with a smile, "It’s almost healed. I should be able to get out of bed in a couple of days." If his eldest sister were here, he wouldn’t have needed to be treated for so long.

"That’s good. I’ve made some chicken soup for you today. Here, drink it while it’s hot," said Aunt Li as she served the chicken soup into a bowl and smilingly handed it to Luo Zheng.

"Thank you, Aunt Li!" Luo Zheng took the bowl and thanked her with a smile. Ever since they found out he was injured, Aunt Li and her husband had visited him in the hospital every day. He was truly touched.

"You always act so formal with us, what, do you consider us strangers?" Aunt Li gave Luo Zheng a stern look with mock annoyance. They liked Luo Zheng from the bottom of their hearts and had always taken care of him as if he were their own child.

"Then I won’t act like an outsider with Aunt Li or Uncle anymore," Luo Zheng said with a smile, as he began to drink the chicken soup, "Aunt Li’s chicken soup is so delicious!"

"If you like it, drink more. There’s more in the thermos. Careful not to choke," Aunt Li said with a smile, her eyes full of kindness as she watched Luo Zheng.

"Hmm!" Luo Zheng nodded, smiling as he lowered his head and continued drinking from the bowl.

Footsteps were heard outside; thinking it was a nurse, Luo Zheng and the others turned to look.
