Chapter 238: Two hundred thirty-seven, made contact.

Luo Shu entered the room, took out a box from her space, and walked out to hand it to Mu Wan, "This is the New Year’s gift I’m giving you."

"Luo Shu, you’re really too good to me!" Mu Wan’s face showed a hint of surprise as she smiled and took the box, opened it, and saw that it contained black, heart-shaped objects, "What are these?"

"Chocolate. Try one," Luo Shu smiled. In the beginning, she made several boxes of chocolate, which were all divided up by the Lu family’s food lovers. This box of chocolate was from her early stock. There were no Time Rules in her space, so things stored there would not expire.

Mu Wan nodded her head, picked up a piece of chocolate curiously, and put it in her mouth. Could this dark thing really be delicious?

The chocolate melted the moment it touched her tongue, a sweet creamy sensation instantly filled Mu Wan’s mouth, and she squinted her eyes in enjoyment, "This chocolate is so delicious! Where did you buy it? I want to go buy ten boxes to take home."

"I made it myself." Luo Shu couldn’t help but laugh at Mu Wan’s greedy-cat look.

Mu Wan’s eyes suddenly lit up, and she looked at Luo Shu imploringly, "Then can you teach me? Please!" If she learned how, she could eat it every day.

"I don’t have the ingredients now, so even if I wanted to teach you, I couldn’t," Luo Shu said helplessly. Back in Jinchen, she and Hanmo had searched everywhere and couldn’t find cocoa powder to buy.

"What ingredients?" Mu Wan asked with a face full of curiosity.

"Cocoa powder. That ingredient is really hard to buy domestically right now. Last time, I stumbled upon a seller by chance, but when I went back to look, there was none left," Luo Shu said. She too wished to buy more cocoa powder, but in this era, things weren’t always available for purchase simply because one desired them.

Mu Wan’s face showed regret, and after thinking for a moment, she said, "Let’s go stroll around the streets. Maybe we’ll get lucky and find some." No difficulty could stop her quest for delicious food.

Luo Shu smiled speechlessly, "Alright then!" It seemed that unless Mu Wan gave up hope, she would not stop trying.

"Fantastic!" Mu Wan cheered happily.

As the two walked out of the alley, Mu Wan saw Luo Shu heading towards a small sedan and looked surprised.

"This car can’t be yours, can it?" She had noticed the car when she arrived and wondered how someone in this small town could own such a vehicle. Sedans weren’t just something you could buy if you had the money; they required layers of clearance. Plus, the car’s plate number was clearly a Guard Squad’s Plate Number.

"Yeah!" Luo Shu nodded, smiling.

"Wow, Luo Shu, you’re so awesome. When did you learn to drive? No issues hitting the road, right?" Mu Wan asked excitedly.

"Won’t you know once you ride with me?" Luo Shu opened the car door, sat inside, and seeing Mu Wan still standing outside, teased with a smile, "You’re not scared to ride, are you?"

"Who says?" Mu Wan opened the car door and sat inside. She hadn’t seen Luo Shu driving before, so naturally, she was a bit worried.

The car slowly headed forward.

It wasn’t long before Mu Wan realized that her worries were unfounded. Not only could Luo Shu drive, but she also drove very well.

"Luo Shu, when did you learn to drive?" Mu Wan asked curiously. She always felt that Luo Shu was like an enigma, somewhat elusive.

"Three months ago." Unwittingly, she had been living as this Luo Shu for nearly four months. Thinking back on these days and experiences, the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but curl into a smile.

Driving into the city, although the Lantern Festival was almost upon them, the streets were still very quiet.

Many shops on both sides of the street had yet to open for business.

The two walked around the streets for most of the day but couldn’t find flour, let alone cocoa powder.

Mu Wan sat a little despondently in Luo Shu’s car, looking at the chocolate in her hand, "Luo Shu, you have to buy more cocoa powder when you see it." Thinking she might not get to taste such delicacy again for a while, her heart was filled with discontent.

Luo Shu nodded with a smile, "So, do you want to go back to my home now, or should I drive you to your place?" Mu Wan’s home was located in the city, not too far from here.

"Take me home, please," Mu Wan said. She would be too much trouble if she went to Luo Shu’s home only to have Luo Shu take her back later.

After dropping Mu Wan off at her house, Luo Shu noticed it was still early, so she stopped by Zhao Aishu’s place, but Zhao Aishu and her husband hadn’t returned yet.

Uncle Li had been wandering the streets every day, yet despite searching so long, he had found nothing.

Feeling hungry, Uncle Li went to a steamed bun shop to buy a bun, planning to continue his search after eating.

Seeing a phone inside the steamed bun shop, he thought for a moment, went in, and dialed the number Luo Zheng had given him. He had almost called this number every day recently, but no one on the other line had ever picked up.

"Beep! Beep!" The phone rang for a long time with no answer, Uncle Li was about to hang up, disappointed, when suddenly someone picked it up on the other end.

"Hello!" A sweet voice came through from the other end of the phone.

Uncle Li was stunned that someone had answered and didn’t know how to begin talking.

Luo Shu waited for quite a while, and as the other side didn’t speak up, she assumed it was a wrong number and was about to hang up when an elderly excited voice came through, "Is this the Little Divine Doctor?"

"Who is this?" Luo Shu was a bit surprised. She found the voice on the other end familiar but couldn’t immediately recall where she had heard it.

"I’m Uncle Li from Jinchen Liu Family Alley; we met before in the roasted duck restaurant. You treated my wife’s illness at the time," Uncle Li said excitedly.

"Oh, it’s you? How did you get my number?" Luo Shu was surprised. She remembered she hadn’t given her phone number to him.

"Luo Zheng gave it to me. He ran away from his relative’s home, and he’s been staying at my house these days. It’s just that it’s not safe for him to show himself right now," Luo Zheng had explained some of the reasons to him.

Luo Shu frowned slightly, "Is he okay?"

"He’s fine. He heard you were in Jinchen and has been looking for you. The poor kid, if he hadn’t run into us, who knows what would have happened by now." After spending so much time with Luo Zheng, Uncle Li and his wife had grown fond of him.

"Alright, tell him not to come out. I’ll send someone to pick him up." Since Luo Zheng had run away from the Song family, they were most certainly looking for him. If he came out now, the Song family would definitely take him back.

"I understand," Uncle Li nodded happily. Finally, he had made contact.
