"Young man, don’t be shy, help yourself to whatever you want to eat," the old lady said as she put a poached egg into Luo Zheng’s bowl. For some reason, she took a particular liking to Luo Zheng.
"Thank you, Auntie!" Luo Zheng thanked the old lady with a smile. He felt truly fortunate to have met this elderly couple.
"Judging by your accent, you seem to be from out of town," the old man said, looking at Luo Zheng.
Luo Zheng nodded and swallowed the food in his mouth, "I’m from Cloud City. I came to Jinchen to visit relatives." His biggest regret was agreeing to go to the Song Family with Song Xiran. He wondered how Second Sister was doing now. Did she get hurt after falling from such a high wall?
"Do your relatives live nearby?" the old lady inquired. Luo Zheng’s attire didn’t seem like that of an ordinary family’s child.
"No, I ran away from my relative’s house. I heard my elder sister came to Jinchen, and I want to find her, but I don’t know where to start. To return to Cloud City, I don’t have a letter of introduction nor money to buy a train ticket," Luo Zheng said somewhat despondently. He didn’t know where to go after leaving here.
"Didn’t your elder sister come with you?" the old man asked in surprise. Isn’t visiting relatives supposed to be a family affair?
"My elder sister doesn’t like that relative," Luo Zheng explained. He didn’t like the Song Family either. What good was a powerful family if they were just a group of cold-blooded animals without feeling? Staying with the Song Family felt like being in a cold prison.
The old man nodded, "So where are you planning to go next?"
"I don’t know," Luo Zheng admitted, shaking his head in bewilderment. He didn’t know which way was the direction to Cloud City, and even if he wanted to walk back, he couldn’t. Now he could only take one step at a time and see where it led.
The old man and old lady exchanged glances and suggested, "Why don’t you stay here for now? We’ll help you find out about your elder sister’s whereabouts." They couldn’t bear to see him wander off.
"This..." Luo Zheng hesitated. His biggest concern right now was the Song Family. If they found out where he was, it could bring trouble to this kind couple.
"Stop hesitating, just stay here for the time being. By the way, what’s your elder sister’s name?" the old man asked. The couple had no children of their own, and having Luo Zheng stay would liven up their house a bit.
"Luo Shu," Luo Zheng replied.
"Luo Shu? Why does that name sound so familiar?" the old man wondered aloud. He felt he had heard it somewhere but couldn’t recall at the moment.
"Isn’t that the name of the Little Divine Doctor who saved me?" the old lady glared at her husband and eagerly asked Luo Zheng, "Young man, isn’t your elder sister the Little Divine Doctor?" The newspapers said Luo Shu was from Cloud City, and since Luo Zheng was also from Cloud City, it was very likely the Luo Shu he mentioned was the Little Divine Doctor herself.
"No wonder it sounded familiar," the old man said with a smile as he slapped his thigh, looking at Luo Zheng, expecting his response. If the Luo Shu Luo Zheng was talking about was indeed the same person, it would be an incredible coincidence, and they were just worried about how to repay the Little Divine Doctor.
"Have you seen my elder sister? Where is she?" Luo Zheng asked, his face lit up with excitement.
"We met your elder sister once before the New Year, and she cured my wife’s illness," the old man said cheerfully. It was indeed serendipity!
"Is my elder sister alone, or is she with Brother Lu?" Luo Zheng inquired. Song Xiran had said his elder sister came to Jinchen, and in Jinchen, she had no other relatives. She must have gone to Brother Lu’s house.
"She was with a young man. I heard your elder sister call him Hanmo," the old lady said with a smile.
"It really is Brother Lu! Uncle, Auntie, where did you see my elder sister and him?" Luo Zheng could barely contain his excitement. He hadn’t expected his luck to be so good, to meet people who knew his sister.
"On the street. She and that young man seemed to be out for a walk. Shall I go and inquire for you?" the old man offered. Since it was the brother of someone who had done them a favor, of course, he wanted to take good care of him.
"I would be most grateful, Uncle!" Luo Zheng stood up and gave the old man a respectful bow. He couldn’t reveal himself now; otherwise, if the Song Family found out, he would be in trouble.
"Don’t mention it, your elder sister is our lifesaver. Young man, what’s your name again?" the old man asked cheerfully. His spirits were lifted, having thought that he wouldn’t have a chance to repay the Little Divine Doctor, and yet here he was, meeting her brother.
"My name is Luo Zheng, Uncle! Brother Lu is a Guard Member, so it’s very likely that his family lives in the High Level residential area of the Guard," Luo Zheng said, his face brimming with joy.
"Alright, alright, alright! I’ll go and inquire for you. Don’t worry, just stay here and be at ease," the old man said, in a great mood. He was really happy to have the opportunity to repay a favor.
Luo Shu arrived at the construction site, only to see that the factory buildings were already completed, and the workers were in the process of removing the scaffolding around them.
"Miss!" A refined-looking man with gold-framed glasses approached her.
His name was Lew Mucheng, brought in by Luo Qianyu to assist Luo Shu. Besides him, there was another person. Both of them were in charge of some of the factory’s affairs.
"You’ve been working hard these past few days," Luo Shu said to him with a smile.
"It’s no trouble at all to work for Miss," Lew Mucheng said with a beaming smile. He had heard of Luo Shu before coming to Cloud City and admired her character very much.
Luo Shu smiled and rolled her eyes at him, "Have all the workers been recruited?" After some time together, she and Lew Mucheng had become familiar with each other and had become friends.
"They’ve all been recruited and are currently undergoing training. Miss, would you like to take a look?" Lew Mucheng offered with a smile.
"Let’s go!" She didn’t have anything else to do right now, so it would be good to check it out.
The worker training area was set up in a simple shed next to the construction site. It was built temporarily, and that’s where Lew Mucheng and his colleague usually worked.
Upon entering the shed, Luo Shu saw a group of young men and women sitting around a long table with various herbs laid out on it. Their task was to memorize these herbs.
Seeing Luo Shu come in, a young woman approached her, "Miss!"
"Is everything going smoothly?" Luo Shu asked with a smile.
Luo Qin frowned and shook her head, "It’s really tough!" She had taught the workers dozens of times, but only a few could actually remember the herbs.
"Don’t worry, take it slow," Luo Shu reassured her, patting Luo Qin on the shoulder. For most of these workers, who had never dealt with herbs before, memorizing so many all at once was no easy task.
