Chapter 199: One hundred ninety-eight, strike

A sudden scream came from outside, and Wu Cilang was startled. He quickly got up and ran outside, only to witness a horrifying scene.

His men were falling one by one, yet the assailant was nowhere to be seen. What was going on? Even if it was a martial artist, they couldn’t kill without showing themselves.

Regaining his composure, Wu Cilang turned and ran towards the parking lot. Regardless of the methods used by the opponent, his first priority was to save his own life.

He reached the car and quickly opened the door, shaking hands trying to insert the car key, but he couldn’t fit the key into the ignition. He wasn’t a coward, but today’s events were just too bizarre.

Finally managing to insert the car key, he found that the car wouldn’t start. "Damn it!" Wu Cilang hit the steering wheel in frustration and opened the door, running towards the gate. As the people of Yan Country say, "As long as the green hills are there, there is no fear of running out of wood." If he could save his life, there would always be a day for a comeback.

But after only a couple of steps, he was knocked back. A look of despair immediately appeared on Wu Cilang’s face. He knew he couldn’t escape!

Wutian Xinye walked wearily to the window, looking out into the pitch-black night, and sighed deeply.

The phone on the desk started to ring, but Wutian Xinye didn’t move as if he hadn’t heard it.

Wutian Tengyi raised his head, glanced at Wutian Xinye standing by the window, stepped forward, and picked up the phone, "This is Wutian Tengyi." Since they received the news, he and his father hadn’t left the room.

"Young Master Wutian, there’s been a disaster, the Divine Eagle Group has been annihilated."

"What did you say?!"

"The Divine Eagle Group has been annihilated; no one survived."

"How is that possible?" Wutian Tengyi’s body swayed. In one day, he felt as if he had fallen from heaven to hell, with one piece of bad news after another. Who exactly was doing this to the Wutian Family? A figure suddenly flashed across his mind - could it be Lu Hanmo? Had he really come to MD Country?

"What’s wrong?" Wutian Xinye asked weakly. From Wutian Tengyi’s reaction, he already knew the news was bad. But now, no matter how bad the news was, it was just that. What could be more devastating than their base being destroyed?

"The Divine Eagle Group has been wiped out." Wutian Tengyi’s face was deathly gray, but there was a trace of unwillingness and regret in his eyes. If he hadn’t let that woman escape back then, maybe things wouldn’t have turned out this way. Unfortunately, there were no ifs!

One day, he would go to Yan Country to find that woman. Next time, he definitely wouldn’t show any mercy. He would make Lu Hanmo taste the torments of hell as well.

The group arrived at the wharf, and Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo led everyone to quietly board a cruise ship. The cruise ship also belonged to the Divine Eagle Group - all of the cruise ships owned by the Divine Eagle Group had a mark of an eagle carved on the helm.

They quickly dealt with the few crew members on board, and the cruise ship gradually left the dock of MD Country.

Watching MD Country recede into the distance, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo exchanged smiles. This mission had gone more smoothly than they expected, not only destroying the base and the Divine Eagle Group but also acquiring a large cache of firearms.

"I thought I was going to spend New Year’s in MD Country," Luo Shu said with a smirk.

"Shushu, come over to my place for the New Year this year. My grandpa and my mom both want to meet you," Lu Hanmo looked at Luo Shu with a deep set of eyes filled with a hint of anticipation. With the mission over, he now had a long holiday to take. He really wanted his family to know about Shushu’s existence, to know that she was the future bride of Lu Hanmo.

Although his mother had already spread the news to everyone, he was more eager to personally introduce Shushu to his family.

"My current dad also wants to meet you. What do you say?" Luo Shu teased, blinking at Lu Hanmo playfully.

Lu Hanmo smiled and reached out his hand, taking Luo Shu’s into his, "The wife calls the shots!"

Mo Shaoze stepped out of the cabin and just overheard Lu Hanmo’s words, his jaw nearly dropped to the floor. This icy guy was actually capable of sweet talk? Surely, the Lu Hanmo he was seeing couldn’t be real?

Noticing Mo Shaoze standing there stupefied, Luo Shu smiled slightly at Lu Hanmo, "You two chat, I’m going to rest inside the cabin." She knew that Mo Shaoze must have plenty of questions for Lu Hanmo. Plus, she was indeed tired these past couple of days.

"Hmm!" Lu Hanmo nodded smilingly.

Mo Shaoze waited until Luo Shu entered the cabin, then walked up to Lu Hanmo, looking him over closely, "Are you really Lu Hanmo? Haven’t you been switched out?"

Lu Hanmo raised an eyebrow, "Shall we test it out?"

"I’m not looking for a beating. I can’t even beat your woman, let alone you!" Mo Shaoze shrugged and leaned on the ship’s railing, gazing into the distance where the sky and the sea merged as one.

Lu Hanmo’s lips curled slightly, and he leaned on the railing just like Mo Shaoze. The fact that Mo Shaoze hadn’t run into any trouble this time was what made him most happy; in this lifetime, he hadn’t lost this friend.

"Lu Hanmo, can I ask you something?" Mo Shaoze looked out at the sea, which was calm and waveless like a mirror, completely unlike the turmoil he felt inside.

"Hmm!" Lu Hanmo nodded. He had guessed what Mo Shaoze was going to ask. When he had decided to give them the talismans, he knew Mo Shaoze would one day pose this question to him.

"I want to know where you got those talismans? Of course, if it’s not convenient for you to tell me, then just pretend I didn’t ask." Mo Shaoze turned his head, a carefree expression on his face as he looked at Lu Hanmo. He genuinely wanted to know, but if Lu Hanmo was in a difficult position, he wasn’t insistent on getting an answer.

"It’s from Shushu; she’s from the Divine Doctor Family," Lu Hanmo answered with a smile. He and Shushu had long since prepared this explanation.

"What! Luo Shu is from the Divine Doctor Family?!" Mo Shaoze exclaimed in surprise.

Initially, he felt that Luo Shu’s status didn’t quite match Lu Hanmo’s, and that the Lu family might oppose their being together because of it.

But Luo Shu had repeatedly proven her excellence, whether it was with the Snow Skin Cream or the incident where she saved the people of Cloud City, both of which were enough to change the Lu family’s view of her. Especially now that Luo Shu had made significant contributions again. Even though it couldn’t be openly talked about, given the Lu family’s status, how could such a matter be concealed from them?

With such achievements, Luo Shu was indeed standing on the same level as Lu Hanmo. But what he could never have imagined was that Luo Shu would be from one of the legendary ancient martial arts families. This was a complete turnaround.

Now it seemed that it was Lu Hanmo who wasn’t worthy of Luo Shu’s status. Such a swift change was almost too much for him to handle.
