Chapter 181: One hundred eighty, Yun Han

Before they knew it, night had fallen.

Zhou Chang, seeing no opportunity to chat further with Luo Shu, stood up and said, "Aunt Xu, it’s getting late. I should head back." He hadn’t been home since he returned from Jinchen.

"Alright, feel free to visit Aunt Xu’s place whenever you’re free." Zhao Aishu knew that Luo Shu didn’t like Zhou Chang and wanted him to leave early, so she didn’t try to keep him there.

"I will. Then I’ll be on my way." Zhou Chang smiled at the two of them, then stepped towards the door. At that moment, his heart was filled with displeasure. The more Luo Shu behaved like this, the more he wanted to win her over.

Upon hearing the sound of the door closing, Luo Shu leaned back on the sofa and let out a long sigh of relief, "Finally, he’s gone."

"Do you dislike him that much?" Seeing Luo Shu’s relieved expression, Zhao Aishu couldn’t help but laugh. "Actually, Zhou Chang is a decent kid; he’s just a bit arrogant. But that kind of pride is normal for a family like the Zhou Family."

"Hanmo doesn’t have that pride." Thinking of Lu Hanmo, Luo Shu’s lips curled up, and her mood improved a lot. She would go to see him early tomorrow and give him a surprise.

"That’s because love is blind." Zhao Aishu teased with a laugh. When she and Xu Feng were together, Xu Feng was the same in her eyes. No one could compare to him, and that included now.

"Mhmm!" Luo Shu nodded with a smile. When you love someone, even if they are full of flaws, you still like them. When you dislike someone, even if they are full of virtues, you still dislike them.

After having dinner at Zhao Aishu’s house, Luo Shu sat for a while before taking her leave.

Driving alone on the deserted, silent roads, Luo Shu suddenly felt as if she had returned to her past life.

In her past life, she often did this too, driving alone at night on deserted roads, savoring the freedom of the world. It was just a pity that in this era, there were no music players, and she couldn’t play music.

Suddenly, a shadowy figure staggered out from the woods beside the road, appearing right in front of Luo Shu’s car.

Seeing Luo Shu’s swiftly approaching car, the person stood still, seemingly shocked.

"Screech!" The piercing sound of brakes filled the night, as the car stopped just ten centimeters away from the person.

Looking through the car window, Luo Shu locked eyes with the man, whose gaze was sharp, like that of a wild wolf, startling her.

The man was no ordinary person, that was Luo Shu’s first thought.

As Luo Shu was debating whether to get out of the car or drive away, the man moved. He walked up to the passenger’s side, opened the car door, and sat down, "Drive. I’ll compensate you."

Luo Shu glanced at the man, then pressed the accelerator, and the car shot forward once again.

Not long after the car had driven away, two more people emerged from the woods.

"Where did he go? He’s injured; he shouldn’t be able to run that fast."

"I think I smell gasoline." The other person sniffed.

"Keep chasing! He must not get away." The two quickly pursued in the direction Luo Shu’s car had gone.

Luo Shu drove towards a secluded mountainous area. With an unknown man in her car, wounded at that, it was natural she couldn’t bring him home.

The man took a Jade Bottle out of his pocket and poured a Pill into his mouth.

Feeling the traces of Spiritual Power seeping from the Pill, Luo Shu raised her eyebrows in surprise. She had actually encountered a True Cultivator, something out of legends. She was also practicing True Cultivation but hadn’t even reached the stage of Qi Refinement.

The man consumed the Pill and closed his eyes to recuperate for a while. Then, turning to Luo Shu, he asked, "Aren’t you afraid of me?"

"Are you going to kill me?" Luo Shu asked with a light smile. She could sense he held no malice towards her.

The man shook his head with a smile, "Thank you for helping me."

He reached into his pocket and handed over a small cloth bag to Luo Shu, "This is my compensation; it should be of use to you." He had felt the aura of a True Cultivator on her, which was the reason he had gotten into her car.

He had been surprised by her identity, which nearly led to the accident. He hadn’t expected to find someone engaged in True Cultivation in this small Cloud City, though strictly speaking, she wasn’t yet a real True Cultivator.

Luo Shu received the bag without politeness and placed it in her purse, "Where do you want to go?" Xiao Qing had already told her that what the man gave her was a Spirit Stone. How could she possibly decline such a treasure?

"I’ll get off here. The people chasing me are True Cultivators. Can you manage on your own?" The man looked at Luo Shu. He would never harm her after she rescued him.

"I can!" Luo Shu assured him with a smile as she stopped the car. His pursuers were True Cultivators who would surely follow the scent to find them. She had Talismans that could hide her scent; it shouldn’t be a problem.

The man nodded, opened the car door, looked back at Luo Shu, and said, "My name is Yun Han. We will meet again!"

After saying this, he got out of the car and ran towards the mountain ridges, rapidly disappearing into the night.
