Chapter 179: One hundred and seventy-eight, meet
The driver gestured to Luo Shu to proceed, and she did so without the slightest hesitation, walking towards the front.
The door was slowly pulled open from the inside, and as Luo Shu stepped in, she saw a man clad in a black trench coat, lazily leaning against the couch.
His features were exquisite and pronounced, with long, slanted, peach-shaped eyes that gave a mischievous tilt to his handsome face, which oozed charm. His sensually thin lips seemed to ensnare one’s soul, carrying a hint of wicked curvature.
The man swirled the red wine in his glass and gazed at Luo Shu with a playful look as she approached, nodding towards the seat opposite him with his chin, "Have a seat!"
Luo Shu didn’t stand on ceremony and sat down opposite him, "Did you bring me here for a reason?" She naturally recognized the man in front of her, none other than Song Xiran, who caused her demise in her previous life.
"You should know our relationship by now, right?" the man teased, lifting the glass to his lips for a sip of the red wine.
"What relationship?" Luo Shu feigned ignorance, raising an eyebrow. If she could choose, she really wouldn’t want to have anything to do with the Song family.
"Your mother is my aunt, a member of our Song family," Song Xiran’s thin lips curled up, bending into a devilishly charming arc.
"So what?" Luo Shu sneered with disdain.
"Since you’re my cousin, shouldn’t you be on my side?" Song Xiran raised an eyebrow at Luo Shu. He had known about Luo Shu’s identity for quite some time but initially didn’t take her seriously. He even felt that she wasn’t worthy of carrying the blood of the Song family. That’s why when he had her abducted, he hadn’t planned on sparing her life.
Luo Shu chuckled, "Song Xiran, what you value about your Song family is your business. I have nothing to do with your Song family, not in the past, and even less so in the future." If the Song family really cared about that connection, why had they ignored her and her brother all these years? To talk like this now was merely because they saw her as someone with a value to exploit.
"Whether you acknowledge it or not, the blood of the Song family runs through your veins. If I tell Lu Hanmo, what do you think he would do?" Song Xiran smiled faintly, his eyes narrowing.
"Why don’t you tell him and find out?" Luo Shu scoffed disdainfully. What did it matter if she carried the blood of the Song family? Did he really think that such a triviality would make Lu Hanmo leave her? He greatly underestimated her relationship with Lu Hanmo!
Song Xiran stretched into a wicked smile, pouring himself another glass of wine, "What if I keep you here? Do you guess Lu Hanmo will come for you once he gets the news? And if he does come, do you think I’d let him leave unharmed?"
"That depends on whether you can keep me or not," Luo Shu said challengingly, looking at Song Xiran. His strength should not be much different from hers now, and she would be able to leave this place if she wished; neither he nor the few who were hidden in the shadows would be able to stop her.
"Interesting! Truly interesting!" Song Xiran clapped his hands with amusement. He was becoming increasingly intrigued by this cousin.
Luo Shu gave Song Xiran a glare and stood up to walk outside. She had come only to confirm her suspicions; that driver could not have done anything to her, let alone bring her here.
Two figures shot out from the shadows like lightning, standing in Luo Shu’s way.
At the same time, two men behind her pointed guns at the back of her head; at Song Xiran’s command, Luo Shu would immediately become a ghost under the guns.
"Let’s see if you’ve got what it takes to leave," Song Xiran said, playfully swirling his wine glass, watching Luo Shu.
Luo Shu’s lips curled into a mocking smile, and she made her move, attacking the two who were blocking her path.
The men, not expecting Luo Shu to lash out, hurriedly tried to retreat.
Luo Shu moved even faster, her fair and slender hands like phantoms, striking toward the two men in a strange manner. A flash of silver was barely visible before two bloodlines swiftly appeared on the men’s necks. The lines slowly widened, and red liquid burst forth like fountains.
The men’s eyes widened as they clutched their necks, looking at Luo Shu in disbelief. They tried to speak, but only unrecognizable "gurgle" sounds came from their throats as they resigned themselves to slowly fall backward, awaiting death’s arrival.
The two men holding guns on Luo Shu saw their companions collapse to the ground, their grips on their weapons tightening as they looked to Song Xiran for his command.
Song Xiran raised an eyebrow in surprise and burst out laughing, "It seems I’ve still underestimated you."
Luo Shu gave Song Xiran a cold sneer and stepped toward the outside. She wasn’t worried that Song Xiran would report her for murder. Even if he did, she wasn’t afraid.
"Young Master, should we shoot?" one of the subordinates asked.
"No need!" Song Xiran watched Luo Shu’s disappearing figure at the door, raising his glass to lightly sip the red wine. He was very satisfied with this test—if Luo Shu were willing to return to the Song Family, she would become a powerful asset.
Luo Shu walked out of the house and saw the driver who had brought her here standing at the door. She walked up to him and extended her hand, "The keys!"
The driver took a step back, trembling as he shook his head.
"The keys!" Luo Shu’s voice grew colder.
"I don’t have them," the driver shook his head. He wouldn’t dare reveal them, even if he had them, or he’d surely lose his life. They all knew the temper of their Young Master very well.
Luo Shu stepped forward and punched the driver in the face, "Do you have them now?"
The driver cried out in pain but still shook his head.
After a few more punches, Luo Shu forcefully struck the driver in the stomach, sending him sprawling to the ground. She snorted coldly and headed toward the car. Did they think she couldn’t leave without the keys? She was very familiar with cars.
In her past life in the Northern Federation, she had a friend who was a race car driver, who repaired her car for her. He taught her a lot about vehicles, so even without the keys, starting a car was no problem. Hitting the driver was just because she felt irritated.
Opening the car door, Luo Shu sat in the driver’s seat and fiddled around for a while until the car started.
Turning to Song Xiran, who was watching her from the window, she flipped him the middle finger. Luo Shu stepped on the gas, and the car sped away, quickly disappearing into the estate.
Luo Shu drove the car to a large compound in the city. After a thorough check, she entered the compound.
Parking the car in the parking area, Luo Shu opened the door and got out.
"Luo Shu!" A surprised and delighted voice came from behind Luo Shu.
Luo Shu turned around to see Zhou Chang, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time, and she nodded at him with a faint smile.
Zhou Chang approached with a face full of excitement, "I haven’t seen you in so long." He had been in Jinchen recently and had just returned to Cloud City. He’d planned to visit her tomorrow, but to his surprise, he stumbled upon her now.
