Chapter 160: One hundred and fifty-nine, The Mole.
"Is he really a traitor?" Liu Changhe asked with a grave expression as he looked at Lu Hanmo.
"There’s no evidence yet, but I’m certain that masked man is him," Lu Hanmo stated with conviction.
When he returned, the other party had casually approached him to greet him as if nothing had happened, apparently wanting to confirm whether he had recognized him. He had also confirmed once again that the other party and the masked man had the exact same scent, plus he had detected a whiff of smoke bomb.
Liu Changhe tapped lightly on the desk, lost in thought for a long time before looking up at Lu Hanmo, "Do you have any suggestions?"
"Let’s not startle the snake, we can do this..." Lu Hanmo leaned in to quickly share his plan with Liu Changhe.
After thinking it over, Liu Changhe nodded, "Good! Then let’s do as you say."
"Knock knock knock!" A gentle knock on the door sounded.
Liu Changhe and Lu Hanmo exchanged glances, then spoke, "Come in!"
The door was pushed open, and Mo Shaoze strode in, "Commander, greetings!"
Liu Changhe nodded slightly, "What is it?"
"Luo Shu just called, saying the Healing Medicine is ready. She asked whether we want to pick it up ourselves or if she should have it sent over," Mo Shaoze repeated Luo Shu’s question.
"It’s ready so soon? That’s great!" Liu Changhe showed a surprised look. With the Healing Medicine ready, the soldiers would have more assurance on the battlefield.
"Luo Shu said her medicine powder is packed in parchment bags. If it could be transferred to glass bottles, the efficacy would last longer, and it wouldn’t be a concern in the rain," Mo Shaoze continued.
"That’s simple, just leave it to the Guardian Medical Department," Liu Changhe said. The department had people responsible for purchasing medical supplies, so they could just ask the person in charge to buy an extra batch of glass medicine bottles.
"Commander, may I take charge of this matter?" Lu Hanmo offered. There was a traitor among them now, and he didn’t want someone with a motive to tamper with Shushu’s medicine and use that to frame her.
"Sure!" Liu Changhe agreed. Being part of the Lu family faction, he naturally supported Lu Hanmo’s decision.
Luo Shu had waited a long time without a call from Lu Hanmo. Just when she was about to enter her space, the phone rang at that moment.
She walked over, picked up the phone, and asked, "Is it Hanmo?" She had already called her godmother and Mu Wan to tell them she would be away for a while, so they wouldn’t worry if they couldn’t find her later.
"Are you waiting for me?" Lu Hanmo’s voice came through the phone.
"Mhm! I’m leaving tomorrow and wanted to talk to you," Luo Shu’s lips curved slightly upward. Hearing his voice always brightened her mood.
"What time are you leaving tomorrow?" a hint of reluctance sounded in Lu Hanmo’s voice.
"I’ll be leaving early in the morning. Dad has arranged a plane for me. Hanmo, I’m so nervous, what should I do?" The thought of seeing her long-separated family soon filled Luo Shu with both nervousness and anticipation.
A soft chuckle from Lu Hanmo came through the phone, "Silly girl! They are your family, what’s there to worry about? You’re so smart and adorable, they’ll be overjoyed to have you."
"You’re just flattering me!" Luo Shu said with a playful laugh, then changed the subject, "How are you arranging the medicine?"
"I’ll come and collect it personally tomorrow." Lu Hanmo listened carefully to make sure no one was around, then whispered to Luo Shu about what had happened earlier that day.
Luo Shu frowned slightly, "Be careful, the other party probably won’t let things go easily."
"I understand, don’t worry!" Lu Hanmo, hearing faint footsteps outside, his eyes flashed with a piercing light.
He switched the topic again, "It’s gotten much colder recently, remember to keep warm. I’m going to night training now, so I won’t chat with you for long." He didn’t know who the listener was, but he didn’t want them to hear his conversation with Shushu.
Standing up and stepping out of the office, Lu Hanmo did not look at the person hiding in the shadows. It was not yet time to startle the snake.
The eastern sky was slowly showing the color of dawn. With the passage of time, the pale blue became increasingly bright, and a ray of sunlight pierced through the clouds. The golden-red sunlight seemed to instantly breathe life into the earth, making everything look vibrant and full of energy.
Luo Shu lay by the window, her hands propping up her chin, absent-mindedly watching the sunrise in the distance. She had finished her cultivation early that day and left her space to wait for her father. She was worried she might lose track of time and keep her father waiting.
"Luo Shu, are you up?" The pleasant voice of Luo Qianyu came from outside her door.
"I’m already up," Luo Shu hurriedly went to open the door, smiling cheerfully at Luo Qianyu.
With a slight smile, Luo Qianyu said, "Don’t be nervous, the Divine Doctor Family won’t do anything to you." He wasn’t planning to tell Luo Shu that she was his sister just yet. Once they arrived at the Divine Doctor Family, he would announce the good news to everyone. He believed it would be a pleasant surprise for all.
