Taking out the remaining two Spirit Stones from the small wooden box, Luo Shu exited the space.

Shortly after breakfast, the person Lu Hanmo dispatched to pick up Luo Shu arrived.

"Xiao Zheng, I’m going out for a bit. Don’t disturb Big Brother Luo, he will come out once he wakes up," Luo Shu instructed Luo Zheng before following the young man who came to pick her up to the parking spot.

The alleys here were quite narrow; cars could only drive up to the alley’s entrance before they could go no further.

As soon as Luo Shu walked out of the alley, she saw a jeep parked there.

The young man hurried forward a few steps, opened the rear door of the car and said to Luo Shu, "Sister-in-Law, please sit at the back!"

"Thank you!" Luo Shu said with a smile, nodding her head and stepping forward.

Just as she was about to bend down and get into the car, she paused, her face lighting up with a surprised smile. She had seen Lu Hanmo sitting inside, his eyes brimming with affection as he smiled and gazed at her.

"Why have you come?" Luo Shu regained her composure and asked. Hadn’t he said over the phone yesterday that he was too busy to come over?

"I wanted to give you a surprise." Lu Hanmo stretched out his distinctly jointed, pale and slender hand, and once Luo Shu placed her hand in his, he gently pulled with a tenderness that seated Luo Shu next to him.

Chief Liu was very pleased when he learned that she had agreed to cooperate with them. Knowing the relationship between him and her, he had assigned the task of picking her up to himself. To surprise her, he hadn’t told her about this in advance.

Luo Shu playfully glared at Lu Hanmo and teased, "I never thought Cold-faced Yama would learn to play the romantic like this."

"It’s all to make you happy, you little ingrate," Lu Hanmo said indulgently as he playfully tweaked Luo Shu’s nose. If it weren’t for the third wheel in the front, he really would have liked to pull her into his arms—to feel that satisfying embrace and inhale her intoxicating scent.

"Cough, cough, cough..." A series of coughs came from the front, and the car began to veer unexpectedly.

The young man shot a quick glance at Lu Hanmo in the back seat; he really wasn’t trying to interrupt them—he just couldn’t help it.
