Chapter 1044 - 1042, Mysterious Heavenly City
Chapter 1044: 1042, Mysterious Heavenly City
Elder Li was playing chess with Elder Guo. These past few days, unease had been stirring in their hearts. Ever since Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo left the Immortal Ship, they had disappeared without a trace. They had previously decided that as soon as they reached the sect, they would immediately report Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo’s situation to the sect leader. Now that they had vanished, it was clear they had guessed their intentions and escaped in advance.
"Where do you think they might have gone?" Elder Li placed the chess piece in his hand on the board and looked at Elder Guo.
Elder Guo picked up a chess piece, pondered for a moment, and then placed it on the board. "Even though they’ve broken ties with the Liangyi Sect, I doubt their connection to the sect is completely severed. Perhaps we can assign someone to monitor the Liangyi Sect. As for that Ye Family boy, he left together with Lu Hanmo and Luo Shu. He’s likely to return to the Ye Family."
Elder Li nodded in agreement. "Then let’s assign people to watch over them." He shared Elder Guo’s view. However, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo were far too cunning—surely they had anticipated this as well.
"Knock, knock, knock!" Someone lightly knocked on the door.
"Enter!" Elder Li said in a deep voice.
A disciple from Great Mahayana Island pushed the door open, bowed to Elder Li and Elder Guo, and said, "Elders! Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo have returned."
"They’ve returned?!" Elder Li and Elder Guo exclaimed with surprise and delight at the same time. They hadn’t seized the opportunity to flee, which was truly unexpected.
"Yes, and accompanying them are Ye Lifeng and two friends of theirs."
Elder Li couldn’t help but laugh heartily. "Keep a close watch on them, don’t let your guard down for even a moment." He honestly couldn’t have anticipated Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo’s return. Were they overconfident, or did they truly believe they could contend with the Top Ten Sects?
The Top Ten Sects of the Heaven Realm were nothing like those of the Earth Realm. Even if both Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo were Immortal Emperors, in the eyes of the Top Ten Sects, they were no more than ants.
"Such brazen little troublemakers," Elder Guo said with a laugh, picking up his teacup and sipping it in a good mood. Now that they’d returned, the frustration in his heart had entirely dissipated.
The moment Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo returned to the Immortal Ship, they knew they were being monitored. There was no need to guess—it had to be people from Great Mahayana Island and the Sky Water Sect keeping an eye on them. Perhaps in the past, they might have hesitated to confront them, but now they were fully confident in their ability to face them.
Not to mention that the two of them had now reached the Primary and Mid Stages of Heavenly Venerate, their mastery of Formation alone placed them beyond their opponents’ reach. According to their knowledge, there was no Divine Formation Master in the Immortal Realm. Moreover, the Dragon Clan had fully regained its strength. With the Heart of Time and Heavenly Water, the Dragon Clan had grown even stronger than before. Wiping out both the Sky Water Sect and Great Mahayana Island would now be as effortless as a wave of the hand.
Once the Immortal Ship reached Mysterious Heavenly City, they would head to the Dragon Clan, rebuild it, and formally engage their enemies head-on.
Back in their room, Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo set up formations and entered the Heart of Time. As for the people monitoring them outside, they didn’t care how long they watched. As long as those people didn’t provoke them, they would treat their existence as nothing more than the air.
Just after the Time Prairie had closed, the Immortal Ship set off once again, slowly ascending into the air and heading toward the main city of the Heaven Realm—Mysterious Heavenly City.
A month later, the ship slowly descended, landing in the largest plaza within Mysterious Heavenly City—Mysterious Heavenly Plaza.
As soon as the ship’s hatch opened, an overwhelming number of people, led by representatives of the Top Ten Sects, disembarked in an impressive procession.
Elder Li and Elder Guo exchanged a glance. Each then hurried with their disciples over to meet the elders from their respective sects. The matter regarding Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo had to be reported immediately—if the two of them managed to escape again, it would be another source of frustration.
Luo Shu, Lu Hanmo, Xiao Yao, and Yun Han disembarked from the ship. After parting ways with Ye Lifeng, the four of them found a Qi Inn where they could stay. Before going to the Dragon Clan, they had to refine a flying ship. Although they already had a flying ship, it was merely an ordinary Immortal Artifact. The journey to the Dragon Clan would be long and perilous; they couldn’t go without a superior flying vessel.
Back on the Immortal Ship, Yun Han had intended to begin refining one, but they were missing a particular material. Although this material wasn’t rare, it just happened to be something none of them had on hand.
Even the shops aboard the Immortal Ship didn’t sell it. The material was simply too ordinary—so commonplace that most shops didn’t bother to stock it. Left with no choice, they could only wait to disembark from the ship to search for it. After all, the Dragon Clan had already waited so many years; another short delay wouldn’t make much difference.
After booking their rooms, Luo Shu and the others split up to search the shops of Mysterious Heavenly City for the material.
After checking several shops, none of them found the material for sale.
"Let’s try that Artifact Refinement Shop," Lu Hanmo said, pointing toward an unassuming store.
The two of them stepped into the Artifact Refinement Shop and saw several people seated in the hall. Judging by their demeanor, they were there seeking the services of an Artifact Refiner.
"Are you two here to see Master Xu, the Immortal Instrument Master? Please take a seat behind those esteemed guests," the clerk said, pointing to two empty seats.
"Actually, we’re here to purchase a material. The shops outside don’t have it, so we’re hoping you might. Do you carry Ice Iron?" Luo Shu asked.
"Ice Iron? What would you need such a low-level material for?" the clerk asked, astonished. Ice Iron was merely a Level-One Artifact Refining Material, found in the Earth Realm and Sea Realm but nearly non-existent in the Heaven Realm. Such a material could only be used to craft Level-One or Level-Two Immortal Artifacts. In the Heaven Realm, even giving away such low-level immortals wouldn’t attract any takers.
"We’re looking to craft an Immortal Artifact and are just missing that material. Do you have it here?" Luo Shu asked. If they couldn’t find Ice Iron, they would have to purchase a pre-made flying ship, but it would be incomparable to one crafted by Yun Han. As a First-Order Divine Instrument Master, Yun Han’s choice of materials was vastly different from those used by ordinary Immortal Instrument Masters. Perhaps this was what was meant by ’returning to simplicity.’
