Chapter 1035: One thousand and thirty-three, Time Prairie
"Do you all know about the Time Prairie?" Ye Lifeng smiled as he looked at the group.
"No idea!" Yun Han and Xiao Yao shook their heads.
"I’ve heard a bit about it. The Time Prairie has Time Stones, which can control cultivation time. However, the opening of the Time Prairie is time-limited—it only opens once every thousand years," Luo Shu said. She had cultivated using a Time Stone before and had heard Xiao Qing talk about some details regarding the Time Prairie. Last time, Xiao Qing mentioned that the opening date of the Time Prairie wasn’t far off. Now, with Ye Lifeng bringing it up, it seemed the Time Prairie was indeed about to open.
Ye Lifeng nodded with a smile. "That’s right. The good news I’m sharing is related to the Time Prairie. When I came on board earlier, I overheard two stewards discussing that this Immortal Ship is set to arrive at the Heaven Realm just as the Time Prairie opens. The Immortal Ship will pass over the Time Prairie, but since there are Time Whirlpools hovering above the prairie, if the Immortal Ship gets caught by those whirlpools, at the very least, everyone aboard would age instantly. In the worst-case scenario, we could be swept into the chaotic flow of time. To ensure safety, the Immortal Ship will stop at the edge of the Time Prairie. Once the prairie closes, the ship will continue its journey. This gives us an opportunity to explore and train in the Time Prairie."
"Is there no limit to the number of people who can enter the Time Prairie?" Yun Han asked, surprised. Typically, secret realms require sect permissions or are restricted to tournament participants.
"It probably doesn’t require limits," Ye Lifeng said uncertainly. He had only overheard a few snippets and felt awkward lingering to hear more; otherwise, it might have been troublesome if the two stewards noticed him.
"Let’s drink and worry about it when we get there," Xiao Yao said, raising his wine flask to the group. Since the Immortal Ship is stopping there, there must be a way to get in.
After enjoying their food and drink, the group returned to their rooms.
Back in his room, Yun Han took out the Storage Ring that Lu Hanmo had given him and handed it to Xiao Yao. "Take a look."
Xiao Yao received it with a surprised expression, then swept it with his Divine Sense. Suddenly, his eyes widened with joy. "How are my belongings inside? Didn’t that old bastard take them away?" If he had known they were still here, he wouldn’t have felt so distressed.
"Lu Hanmo kept them safe for us. His strength has already surpassed ours by a great margin. We need to work hard on our cultivation," Yun Han said resolutely. He recalled that when he first began training, Lu Hanmo hadn’t started cultivating yet, but now Lu Hanmo had progressed far ahead of him.
"Not working hard isn’t an option! I’ve already been beaten so badly by you three that I feel completely crushed," Xiao Yao said dejectedly, shaking his head. No one else was as unlucky as him; when he first met them, he had the highest cultivation and had the ability to protect them. But now, he had been left far behind.
In the blink of an eye, five months came and went. The Immortal Ship descended onto a broad prairie.
Cultivators who had already heard the news were waiting by the cabin doors. As soon as the doors opened, the crowd surged out like a flood bursting through a dam.
"Is this the Time Prairie?" Luo Shu looked at the vast grassland, communicating with the Dragon Queen within the space. The stewards onboard had only informed them that the ship would stop at the edge of the Time Prairie but hadn’t disclosed its precise location.
"This is just a regular prairie. To reach the Time Prairie, you need to pass through a Teleportation Array. Go forward, and you’ll reach the edge of this grassland. The real Time Prairie lies beyond," the Dragon Queen explained.
"Okay!" Luo Shu responded before turning to the four companions. "Let’s go check ahead."
The four of them nodded in agreement and moved forward with Luo Shu.
At first, many cultivators surrounded Luo Shu and her group. But as they walked further, the crowd became increasingly scattered, until only Luo Shu’s group and Ye Lifeng remained.
Ye Lifeng’s family opposed his association with Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo. The Ye Family had offended both the Great Mahayana Island and the Sky Water Sect. If those factions from the Heaven Realm learned of this, they would undoubtedly come after them. However, Ye Lifeng was insistent, leaving the Ye Family helpless. After all, Ye Lifeng’s decisions were his own; they couldn’t control him.
Luo Shu’s group journeyed for an entire week before finally reaching the edge of the grassland—an abyss so deep it seemed bottomless stretched before them.
"There’s no path here. Should we explore other areas?" Ye Lifeng suggested.
"Luo Shu, what do you think?" Yun Han asked, trusting Luo Shu completely. Since she had specifically led them this way, there must have been a reason.
"Let’s go down into the abyss," Luo Shu said. The Dragon Queen had mentioned that there were three entrances to the Time Prairie. One was well-known and located in front of a canyon. Cultivators entered the Time Prairie through the canyon’s Teleportation Array. For this session, most cultivators would likely use that entrance.
The other two entrances, however, were hidden—one beneath this abyss and another under the Sunset Sea. Few people knew about these concealed entrances.
Luo Shu and her group descended to the bottom of the abyss, where they encountered patches of wild grass, thickets, and small Immortal Beasts scattered about.
"Luo Shu, aren’t we heading to the Time Prairie? What are we doing here?" Ye Lifeng asked, puzzled.
Luo Shu smirked. "The entrance to the Time Prairie is right here."
"Huh?" Ye Lifeng stared around in astonishment, shaking his head in disbelief. Wasn’t the Time Prairie supposed to be, well, a prairie?
Following the Dragon Queen’s guidance, Luo Shu led the group to a grove of trees. After probing with her Divine Sense, they arrived at the base of a massive tree. Luo Shu scattered a few Formation Flags, and the giant tree gradually sank into the ground, disappearing before their eyes.
As the tree vanished, a white light circle appeared in their path.
"Could this really be the way to the Time Prairie?" Ye Lifeng’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at the light circle in disbelief.
Luo Shu smiled and nodded. "Let’s go in! If not for the Dragon Queen’s directions, no one would suspect a Teleportation Array here."
"Alright!" The group nodded, stepping into the circle.
After a moment of dizziness, the group found themselves standing on a lush, endless grassland. Even their Divine Sense couldn’t gauge its boundaries.
"So, this is the Time Prairie? It doesn’t seem all that different from other grasslands," Xiao Yao said, glancing around.
"Everyone needs to be cautious. Though it appears tranquil, the Time Prairie hides numerous Time Whirlpools. If caught in one, your appearance will age instantly, and your lifespan will be drained," Luo Shu warned the group.
"Got it!" The group acknowledged. It was obvious that a place even the Immortal Ship avoided couldn’t be without danger.
