Chapter 1017: One Thousand and Fifteen, Reward

Lin Jue laughed heartily, his face full of satisfaction as he looked at Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo. He took out two jade tokens and handed them to them. "You both have worked hard this time! These are cultivation jade tokens for the Yin Yang Stones. There is no time limit for these tokens. You can enter and cultivate as long as you wish whenever you desire!" After all, they had done such tremendous work for the sect, they deserved such a reward.

"Thank you, Sect Leader!" Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo reached out and accepted the tokens. Although the tokens meant they wouldn’t need to strive for points anymore, they still wanted to see what was at the top of the tower.

The news of Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo’s return quickly spread throughout the Liangyi Sect.

"Junior Brother Lu and Junior Sister Luo have returned, and they’ve also completed that task."

"I heard about it too! They’re incredible! If only they’d joined our Alchemy Pavilion back then."

"I heard rumors that Junior Sister Luo is a Level Eight Immortal Alchemist."

"Really? Our Sect Leader is only a Level Seven Immortal Alchemist. How could Junior Sister Luo be even more skilled than the Sect Leader?"

"Why would I lie to you? Remember during the assessment for those three new disciples, Junior Sister Luo left for a while? She went to the Sect Leader’s place to refine pills."

"How do you know this? Oh, I nearly forgot your uncle is the Seventh Elder."

West Qi Peak Formation Pavilion.

"Senior Sister Fang! Great news! Junior Sister Luo and Junior Brother Lu have returned!"

"Really!" Fang Qing was studying formations at the time. Upon hearing the news, she threw down her jade slip and rushed out.

"Senior Sister, don’t be in such a hurry. Junior Sister Luo and Junior Brother Lu went to see the Sect Leader first." The disciple reporting the news called after her, but Fang Qing had already vanished.

Fang Qing ran all the way to Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo’s quarters and knocked on their door for a long time. Hearing no movement inside, she muttered in confusion, "Didn’t they say they’ve returned? How come no one is here? Could they be at the Sect Leader’s place?"

Thinking this, she turned and ran toward the direction of the main peak.

Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo exited the great hall, and from afar, they spotted Fang Qing running toward them.

"Senior Sister Fang!" Luo Shu greeted her with a smile. She had a good impression of Fang Qing.

"Junior Brother Lu, Junior Sister Luo, you’re finally back! I’ve been worried sick about you. Did you complete the task?" Fang Qing’s face was radiant with joy as she looked at Luo Shu. Almost every sect had sent people to carry out this task before, and none of them had ever returned.

The place was one without Immortal Spirit Energy, which for immortal cultivators like them was akin to losing their ability to act. Furthermore, the area where the Star Origin Fruit was located was said to be filled with danger.

"We completed it." Luo Shu nodded with a gentle smile.

"That’s great! You’ve worked hard this time. Go and rest for now. Tonight, I’ll gather the disciples from the Formation Pavilion and hold a celebration for you both." Fang Qing said. Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo were the pride of their Formation Pavilion, and their success brought honor to the disciples in the pavilion.

Luo Shu smiled and nodded, walking alongside Lu Hanmo and Fang Qing toward West Qi Peak. "Senior Sister Fang, has this month’s competition ended?"

"It’s over. Our Formation Pavilion got last place this time." Fang Qing said with some frustration. In the ranking among the various pavilions, the Formation Pavilion was usually in the middle tier, while the strongest remained the Martial Pavilion led by Senior Brother Cheng.

The Martial Pavilion was different from others—it focused primarily on cultivation. Its disciples had significantly higher cultivation compared to those of other pavilions. Even the competitions between sects were primarily centered on martial force.

"What happened?" Luo Shu asked in surprise. From what she knew, the Formation Pavilion shouldn’t be that weak.

"It’s Senior Brother Cheng. Ever since he lost to you last time, he’s been unwilling to accept it. This time during the monthly competition, the disciples from the Martial Pavilion kept targeting us from the Formation Pavilion." Fang Qing explained. She had once held a good opinion of Senior Brother Cheng, but now she realized he was just a petty man.

"Well, well, if it isn’t the celebrated Junior Brother Lu and Junior Sister Luo!" A sarcastic voice called out from behind Luo Shu, Lu Hanmo, and Fang Qing.

Turning to look, it was none other than Cheng Yimiao, the person they had just been discussing.

Cheng Yimiao approached with two disciples from the Martial Pavilion in tow, sneering as he glanced at Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo. "What’s this? Despite your accomplishments, don’t you know to pay respects to your Senior Brother when you see him?" He couldn’t stand these newcomers. Ever since their arrival, they had stolen all the spotlight, while his position as the senior disciple had been overshadowed. Initially, he thought their mission assignment would lead to their demise. However, he hadn’t expected them to succeed.

Luo Shu shot Cheng Yimiao an indifferent glance and stepped forward without a word. Even if she acknowledged him, would he truly let go of his grudges?

Lu Hanmo naturally followed without hesitation.

Fang Qing awkwardly smiled at Cheng Yimiao. "They’ve just returned and must be very tired. Please don’t hold it against them, Senior Brother Cheng." She then quickened her pace to catch up with Luo Shu and Lu Hanmo.

Watching the three leave, Cheng Yimiao spat with disdain. "Just wait—you’ll get what’s coming to you some day!"

"Senior Brother Cheng, don’t get so worked up. They’re not worth your anger."

"Now’s their moment of glory, so it’s best we don’t provoke them for now."

"Junior Brother Zhou is right. After completing that task, even the Sect Leader holds them in higher esteem. We should endure for now."

"Exactly. Our time will come eventually." The Martial Pavilion disciples echoed.

Cheng Yimiao let out a cold snort, "Let’s go!" He was the senior disciple of Liangyi Sect, and he wouldn’t allow two newcomers to climb over his head.

In the Martial Arts Arena, disciples were engaged in duels.

Feng Jianyou was battling a female disciple with strength comparable to his. In the Sea Realm on Great Mahayana Island, he had been a core disciple. However, here in the Earth Realm, he could barely earn a spot as an inner sect disciple.

"Junior Brother Feng!" A hook-nosed youth walked over.

The female disciple stopped her strikes upon seeing the youth. "Senior Brother Yuan!" The newcomer was a direct disciple of the Sect Leader, and his visit must have a purpose.

"Senior Brother Yuan!" Feng Jianyou cupped his hands to greet him.

"The Sect Leader has summoned you. Follow me." Yuan Jing said before turning to walk away.

"Understood!" Feng Jianyou replied, cupping his hands toward the female disciple he had been battling, then following after Yuan Jing. Since arriving on Great Mahayana Island, he had only met the Sect Leader once. He wondered what purpose the Sect Leader had in summoning him now.

"Senior Brother Yuan, may I ask why the Sect Leader is summoning me?" Feng Jianyou inquired.

"You’ll find out once you get there." Yuan Jing replied indifferently.

Feng Jianyou’s eyes flickered with a hint of anger, yet he kept silent as he followed behind Yuan Jing. One day, he would ensure Yuan Jing realized that Feng Jianyou was not someone easily dismissed.
