SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 95 - 93
Chapter 95: Chapter 93
First, it was the pills that made her stronger, then it was the martial art skill and the next day she received a weaponized fan. Just what did the system want her to become?
Didn’t they start properly doing everything so that they may do some good deeds in the world?
Of course, she understood the importance of protecting herself, but a weapon. Wasn’t that too much?
[Ding! It has been detected that the host is overthinking. Remember, host, that if you are not strong, the strong will prey on you and everything you have achieved will be snatched away from you.]
And she hated the sound of the brutal truth that the system loved tormenting her with lately.
However, setting aside the pain of being told the truth, the system once again told her the truth. She indeed needed to protect herself, and if she continued to be naïve, then it wasn’t going to end well for her.
She wasn’t like some female lead in a Mary Sue novel, where tears and a put would solve problems. Her world was a tough one where a clever serial killer would roam free and continue murdering people without being caught.
It was also a world where the innocent would rot in jail, while the guilty would brag about it and no one would do anything about it.
It was a cruel world, and she had once experienced it. And it seemed that she had been slowly forgetting about that reality since she had been drowning in money these past seven months.
She still didn’t have any security with her. Andrea was still in the process of searching so that he might buy a company for her. And that meant that she was on her own. That was for now.
The martial arts skill she had received, she still wasn’t sure what it was capable of doing, so she was still learning. However, the fan was another matter. It could be used any moment to defend herself when she bumps into ruffians.
So instead of questioning the system, that probably knew what was best for her. It would be wise for her to accept what was given without questions.
’You are right once again. I really need to stop acting like this.’
Diamond collected herself after being reprimanded by the system so she decided to check the new weapon that had been given to her.
’Collect!’
The fan suddenly appeared in her hand and she looked at it with infatuation the very second, she saw it.
She completely fell hard for it the moment she saw it and honestly, she regretted not getting herself a fan before. Even if it wouldn’t be the same as the one, she received, she would have looked cooler with it.
Diamond’s favorite colors were black, gold, and red. The folding fan came had all three colors.
The fan bone was black, and the fanning was red silk clothing with gorgeous golden lotuses on it. And the combination of those three colors on a fan just appealed to her in a way that she couldn’t even understand.
However, the more she looked at the fan, the more confused she became. Just how was she supposed to use the fan as a weapon?
She couldn’t even see any hidden weapons inside it.
’I guess I will have to research more later. I can’t be spoon-fed every time!’ she sighed as she started playing with the fan with another hand.
After a long drive, Diamond finally reached the real estate agency. She didn’t dare take the fan out, as she was afraid that an accident might happen and she wouldn’t have any answers to provide if confronted.
Until she was sure of how to use it, she wasn’t going to recklessly take it out.
When she arrived, no one tried to cause trouble for her, but they welcomed her warmly.
She then went with James to his office where he started showing her the villa in 3D.
"That’s the villa. They haven’t made the sale public yet, but I have seen it and it’s good," James told her.
Diamond had seen the villa, and honestly, it was a good one in photos. She still wanted to see it in person before she made the decision.
"Can we see it today? I will make my choice after that," Diamond asked James as she scrolled through the images.
"Sure. The owners are at the villa right now. We can go and check the place out," James enthusiastically responded.
"That’s good then. Let’s go whilst it’s early." Diamond didn’t want to delay any further.
The sooner she sees the villa, the sooner she will make her choice and the sooner she returns home and checks what is going on with the folding fan.
James could see that Diamond wasn’t in the mood to play around, so not wanting to upset her, he followed her wishes.
It hadn’t been fifteen minutes since she arrived, and everyone saw her leaving once again.
To go to the villa complex that the villa was at Diamond felt uncomfortable using James’s car, so she drove hers over.
On the way, James spoke cleverly and managed to appeal to Diamond. Diamond entertained him, as she found him very resourceful and interesting.
Real estate was another good investment option. Even if she decided to not live in that villa, she could still rent it out or let her parents stay there.
After an hour’s drive, Diamond drove through the gates of the particular villa that she was there to view.
The villa complex was seventy minutes by car to the CBD, which was considered close, as Chery Court was too far when comparing the two.
When they arrived, a middle-aged couple welcomed warmly the two of them. When Diamond scanned them, she could tell that they were rich, but she still couldn’t understand why they had to sell their villa.
"Welcome, you must be Ms. Perry!" the gentle-looking woman who seemed more of a scholarly type politely welcomed Diamond.
Diamond wasn’t good with that kind of person, but she decided to try her best. As long as she saw the place and liked it, she was going to buy it, but if she didn’t, then she would just walk away.
She didn’t necessarily need to chat more with the woman, but when she thought of the reason why she was buying the villa in the first place, she decided to do her best to improve her social skills.
"Thank you for meeting me on such notice. I hope that I didn’t make things inconvenient for you," with a smile on her face, Diamond smoothly responded.
The lady smiled back at her as she gently shook her head. "No, we were actually glad to hear that someone was interested that much. Since James vouched for you, we couldn’t wait to meet with you."
"Haha, that’s good then. I was worried about that," Diamond softly chuckled as she began to feel at ease as she spoke with the lady.
"No need. I am Mrs. Kerry and this is my husband, Mr. Kerry," Mrs. Kerry introduced herself and Diamond’s shamelessness kicked in.
She had forgotten that she didn’t know the other’s name as they had already started talking and there was no way she was going to show an embarrassed expression after all the talk.
So, with her signature smile pasted on her face, Diamond looked at the man standing next to Mrs. Kerry fully for the first time since she was invested in the wife.
The man was average-looking, but he carried that aura of a man who had seen and experienced a lot in life.
"It’s a pleasure meeting you, sir," Diamond politely greeted the man before shifting her gaze to Mrs. Kerry.
Mrs. Kerry’s eyes flashed for a moment, but soon a smile sincerely spread across her face.
Diamond didn’t notice that as what she was interested in was seeing the house.
"Let me show you around," Mrs. Kerry, probably sensing Diamond’s inner thoughts, offered.
Diamond looked at Mrs. Kerry with fondness upon hearing her offer and eagerly responded, "Sure, let’s see the place."
With Mrs. Kerry’s lead, the four of them began to take a tour around the house.
The villa was in a villa complex named Garden View and the number of villas in that complex was fifty.
The villas differ in so many ways, and one of the major differences was the size of the villas as well as the surrounding yard.
The villa that she was seeing belonged to the middle tier in that complex, as it was on the third ring.
There were five rings in the complex, with each ring having ten villas. The villas in the fifth ring were much smaller compared to the other rings but still very expensive as a villa is still a villa despite how tiny it was.
The villa that she was looking at had five bedrooms, a study, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a storage room, and the basement where the laundry room and another storage room were.
There was also an outdoor pool and a beautiful garden at the front.
There was nothing special about the villa that compared to the one she owned in Cherry Court, but considering the real reason why she needed it, it was still better for her to buy it.
’Let’s just consider the place as an investment. I still prefer my first villa to this one.’
