Chapter 92: Chapter 90

"You! Don’t forget to check on the goats later!" Cain reminded the young man, who was busy running around holding water cans at the farm.

"I won’t forget! I just need to fetch a few more buckets for the cattle!" the young man responded enthusiastically.

Cain smilingly nodded at the young man upon hearing his response.

It was a busy season for them since it was the growing season. However, that didn’t matter at the farm, since they were growing crops from January to December.

His love for farming was engraved in his bones, and he especially loved working for his current boss.

Her special means he had been seeing were what kept him at the farm. It was a pity that he wasn’t well-learned in many subjects, otherwise, he would have loved to know more about what his boss was putting in the water tank.

Nevertheless, it didn’t matter again, for whatever she was doing, it was helping the farm in general.

He was a foreigner who came to Athary to work but ended up working at a farm. The salary was little and was barely enough to support the family back home.

However, when the farm was taken over by his current boss, the changes that came with her were enormous and awesome.

Although, most of the land was almost useless and couldn’t be used. The piece of arable land available was doing exceptionally well and that could be seen by the great harvest they were getting daily.

He just wished for the rain to fall, as that would maybe help solve the problem of the useless land that they couldn’t even farm on.

However, looking at the clear skies, it seemed that it was going to be a tough year and people would be suffering once again.

As he was busy monitoring other workers, since he was now a supervisor, Cain’s attention was suddenly drawn towards the gate as he saw a familiar car driving into the farm.

Seeing that car, Cain brightened up and his feet grew wings as he flew towards the farmhouse where the car would park.

His boss finally graced the farm after a very long time. Ever since she started a company that concentrated solely on the farm, Cain had been seeing those girls more than his boss.

So, seeing her again coming to the farm meant one thing. She had brought some good things again with her, and he couldn’t wait to see what they were and what they could do.

Diamond spotted Cain the second she drove into the farm. Seeing the man’s eagerness to welcome her, Diamond felt that supporting Cain was indeed a good choice.

Despite him being a foreigner, he was hardworking and very loyal. Those traits and qualities made her treasure him more.

She parked the car in front of the farmhouse, took the fertilizer out of the storage ring, and placed it into her handbag.

After getting everything that she wanted, she exited the car, where she was warmly welcomed by an enthusiastic Cain.

"Welcome, lady boss!" he excitedly said, his eyes sparkling so brightly, showing how happy he was to see her.

Diamond was infected by his enthusiasm, so she happily greeted him back as well.

"How is everything on the farm so far? Any issues with the staff or livestock?" as they walked towards the garden, Diamond asked Cain.

"The staff are doing great. I have no complaints about them so far. As for the livestock, I think that we need to expand the ranch. We are getting more customers each day and I am afraid that if we don’t do it, we may lose a lot," Cain answered.

Diamond scratched her palm as she listened to Cain’s report.

"I guess that we must do that now that you have said it. I also wanted to talk about that. I am planning on opening a restaurant next year and I want the farm to supply it. So, I will need a lot to happen here," she stated as she walked.

"That will be good, especially for the ranch but the garden. I am afraid that we might be lacking good soil for that," Cain worriedly informed Diamond after hearing her.

"I know what you are worried about. And I have brought a solution to that." With a smile on her face, Diamond finally revealed the good news she had brought to the farm.

Upon hearing that, Cain looked at Diamond reverently as if she were a goddess.

That couldn’t be helped. Diamond’s position in Cain’s heart was exaggerated.

"Really? That’s good then. As long as there is a solution, we can plant as much as we want."

"That’s true, and what I have brought can be used to cure at least two hectares of land. Use that land to add more vegetable gardens and also plant some maize, groundnuts, and watermelon, too."

Cain grinned upon hearing that and knowing that they would be expanding, he couldn’t wait to start.

"Just leave it to me, lady boss. I will not disappoint you."

"I know you won’t. I trust you on that, Cain."

Diamond and Cain walked towards the patch of land where she needed to be cured. She took out the bottle of fertilizer and explained to Cain in detail the steps that needed to be followed to use it.

Cain listened attentively as he held the bottle as if it was a treasure that he shouldn’t lose.

Diamond was so satisfied with his actions that she decided to reward him well when the year ended. Every hard-working person deserves great rewards.

After receiving the instructions, Cain excitedly excused himself and Diamond was left alone to tour around as she thought of what was needed to improve the farm and make more use of it.

With more land being opened, it meant more employees. More employees meant that housing issues could be solved by building some dormitories at the farm.

She didn’t lack funds, so building a house or two wouldn’t be a hustle. It was better to have workers at the farm than to have them commute to and from their houses.

As she checked the farm, she heard the sound of the tractor igniting one, prompting her to check what was going on. But when she saw that it was Cain, she returned to what she was doing and let the man do what he needed to do.

Diamond met other farm workers and had a chat with them as she continued with her supervision.

By the time she was done checking everything, it was around three in the afternoon and Cain was still plowing the land that they had decided to cure earlier.

It was required to turn the soil first before spraying the diluted fertilizer on the designated land. And at the rate that Cain was moving, Diamond had a feeling that by Saturday, Cain would be planting already.

The fertilizer didn’t require a resting period, so they could just plant their crops without any worry.

Diamond collected some fresh vegetables and eggs at the farm before she left.

On her way back, Diamond started a serious chat with Andrea since she had failed to do so earlier, as she was on a call with Kian.

"Andrea, help me to look into Kian. I need to know everything about him that can be found on the internet. Especially his twin brother," she instructed Andrea as she drove slowly on the gravel road.

[Are you sure you want to do that?]

"Yes, I am going to find you a lot of daddies. You wouldn’t want your mommy to get conned by a bad man, would you?" Diamond shamelessly gave herself a title as she responded.

Andrea didn’t respond for a while, which made Diamond a bit nervous.

[I can’t let my mother go through that. So, I will dig everything about him, his acquaintances and enemies.]

Upon hearing Andrea’s response and that mother coming out of him, Diamond didn’t know how to define what she was feeling, but it was good.

"Perfect then. oh, and another thing, help me with creating a personalized app for my business. I want to be able to communicate with my employees more securely. How long will it take?"

[It won’t take long, but to make sure that it is safe and secure from external hacking, I will need three days.]

"That’s acceptable. Just take your time and give me a good result."

[Any more instructions?]

"Yes, the last one for the day."

[Shoot!]

"I want you to help me buy a security company in Athary anonymously without exposing me. Can you do that?"

[It’s easy as pie. I will get that done in less than a month. Which funds should I use?]

"The secret accounts. Just pick one and use it and make sure we get a bargain," Diamond embarrassedly said in the last part.

Who didn’t love getting bargains?

[That is always the case. I will not let my mother down!]

And the young woman’s heart was poked once again upon hearing that.

’It’s not a bad thing being called mother. It is starting to grow on me!’
