SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS
Chapter 778: Chapter 776: CHARITY AUCTION 2

Chapter 778: Chapter 776: CHARITY AUCTION 2

The second item was introduced and during that time, Carol and her friends couldn’t help but ask Diamond, "Do you like that bracelet?"

Diamond chuckled as she looked at the second item being auctioned and responded, "It’s pretty. It will make a nice accessory for my younger sister!"

When they heard that, they almost choked. For a moment there, they thought that it was for her but didn’t think that it was for someone else.

The auction continued and a lot of good things were taken out one by one, and everyone was bidding competitively. At some point, Carol even bids for a necklace which she luckily wins.

An hour into the event, Diamond was feeling bored. She had not found anything that she liked after so long and she was starting to wonder if there was no such item anymore.

However, in her consciousness, the fairy sister’s anxious voice rang in her voice.

’Bid for that figurine. There is something good inside!’

Diamond was taken aback when she heard that. It’s been a very long time since the fairy sister was that anxious. The first time was when she was given a jadeite which the sister ended up using to upgrade the space and use a small piece to make her signet ring.

Diamond wasn’t one to doubt the fairy sister. Since there was something good in that figurine, then she must have it.

"A$10,000."

"A$15,000."

No one was enthusiastic about the figurine. Despite being a collectable, it was an anime figurine. It was something that could appeal to children and not adults.

So, the bidding wasn’t as exciting as the previous ones.

When Diamond listened to the bids, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for the generous person. He or she would feel bad if the figurine fetches such a small amount of money.

"This is the cheapest item so far!" Carol sighed showing no signs of bidding for the figurine.

’You are not interested in it? Even for your child!"

"Nope. My child doesn’t like that anime. I won’t waste money," Carol chuckled as she shook her head before asking Diamond, "How about you? Are you interested?"

Diamond flashed a grin as she raised her bidding card, calling, "A$100,000," answering Carol’s question with actions and not words.

When Carol saw that, she looked astonished at her wondering what got into Diamond to spend a lot for a mere figurine.

"You ..... do you like it that much?" Carol doubtfully asked as she scanned Diamond’s expression.

Diamond chuckled as she listened to the auctioneer with one ear, and the other focused on Carol.

"It looks cute. I remember watching something similar when I was young."

"Pft~" Carol chuckled when she heard that. She couldn’t just understand what kind of wires were in Diamond’s head to think like that.

The figurine wasn’t that popular, so Diamond won it again without increasing the bid.

After that, several other items were auctioned but Diamond didn’t bother with them until the last item of the night was taken out.

"The last item on the list is a painting from Lady Helena ...." The auctioneer described the painting and Diamond looked at it with puzzlement.

Honestly, there were a lot of paintings that just didn’t make sense to her no matter how much she looked at it. Seeing the painting, she was reminded of the blue painting she saw at Helena’s gallery.

This time, Helena took out a red painting which made her wonder if Helena was obsessed with colors.

However, as she was feeling confused, she heard Carol excitedly speaking, "OMG! I can’t believe that this painting was taken out."

"You know about it?"

"How can I not? The painting was valued at A$2 million three years ago. I am not sure how expensive it would be this time."

"It’s that expensive. What is so special about it?" someone asked incredulously, which gained Diamond’s support.

What was indeed special about the painting?

But then Carol responded, "Another famous painter once said that when looking at the painting, he sees rage, a raging fire, passion, a bleeding heart ..." The description puts Diamond at a loss.

Was it really that complicated?

Or could it be that the way she looked at the paintings was wrong?

Anyway, she was kind of interested in this red painting. At least, it wasn’t too glaring like the blur painting she once saw.

So, when the bidding started, she didn’t crazily join in on the frenzy but watched interestingly.

After minutes of the bid, the price had reached three million, and it was still increasing.

Diamond wanted to join last minute, however, when these two bidders started a crazy war all by themselves, she stopped herself.

"A$5 million."

"A$7 million."

"A$7,5 million."

The price kept on increasing crazily, it made her wonder just how badly these two wanted the painting to go crazily at it.

And that answer was provided by Carol.

"These two will never stop!"

"Um. Do you know them?"

"Yep. Years ago, when the painting was valued at A$2 million, they were very eager about getting it. Unfortunately, lady Helena didn’t want to part with it. I think that they might have known about it and came this year."

Diamond smiled forcibly when she heard that as she thought, ’I guess this painting wasn’t meant to be mine.’

There was no way she was going to fight with lunatics. She might as well leave the painting to the people who appreciate it more than her.

As a result, after a while, the painting was successfully sold at A$9 million. It was a pity that Helena wouldn’t be getting a single cent of the money.

As to why they were fighting over the painting, Diamond could only curb her curiosity. Who didn’t have a little secret?

With the painting being sold last, the auction finally came to an end.

Regina took the stage and made a closing speech.

"Thank you once again everyone for participating. It is with great pleasure and honor, that I announce that tonight’s auction has raised, A$24 million. For more information regarding the use of the money, please check the Williams Charity Foundation’s page. All the information will be open to the public. We shall continue to be very transparent and relay every single action taken with this money."

Clap. Clap. Clap.

There was a round of applause for Regina when she said that. Everyone was happy to hear that the funds raised were high. Of course, Helena’s painting was the greatest contributor. Without it, that figure wouldn’t have been reached.

After Regina made her final address, the MC came over to inform everyone to move to the next hall where a dinner buffet was served and waiting for the guests.

As everyone made their way to the next hall, there were whispers.

"I can’t believe that this year so much money was raised!"

"That’s the lure of such events."

"It’s a pity that I didn’t find anything that I wanted."

Others were happy, excited, sad and having all kinds of emotions. As for Diamond, she wanted to look for Helena but when she saw the other chatting with Regina, she decided to check with the other person another time.

It would look as if she was trying to rub off some heat.

In the end, she went with Carol’s group and had a nice dinner which filled her belly.

After dinner, Diamond went to collect her items as well as paying for them. When she got there, there was the lady who won the painting and seeing her obsessive eyes, she couldn’t help but shudder and decided to stay clear and away from such people.

After collecting her two items, she left the hall and the media friends were still squatting, still capturing the beautiful moments.

Diamond walked over to the awaiting car and left for the hotel.

When she arrived at the hotel, she went straight to her suite where she got rid of what she was wearing, and took a nice shower before throwing herself at the bed.

She had a lot that she wanted to do back in the suite. Accompanying others wasn’t on the agenda.

"Let’s see how the voting went," she excitedly said, eyes filled with anticipation of how the fan event went.

Without hesitation, she logged into her Ioniq account and checked the pinned post.

The results of the final voting were published and it was around the time when she was busy eating. That meant that it’s been less than two hours since the results were published.

[DIAMOND (V): After three days of earnestly voting. The event has finally come to an end. The results of your hard and dedicated voting are as follows.

Ioniq – Athary, Frin City

The above places, congratulations. More details shall be added later after the committee has been picked.

Thank you once again for participating. And wait patiently for any updates.]

When she saw that, a smile blossomed on her face.

On the list, each continent had at least one country except for one which unfortunately didn’t get lucky.

Anyway, Andrea’s wording perfectly said everything that she would have written if she had done it. Without the members of the committee picked, she wouldn’t know how to proceed.

In order to deal with that matter, once she had checked the results, she started screening through the emails with Andrea’s help.

The number of applicants exceeded ten thousand, and there was no way she would be able to go through all of them.
