Chapter 775: Chapter 773: FORMAL DINNER 3 – REGINA WILLIAMS
"What’s your name?"
"Diamond and you?"
"Where do you come from?"
"Frin City."
It was just small conversations, but she wasn’t getting bored at all.
When she was picking her food, another middle-aged lady was by her side and she found her very much interesting.
"I know you. Aren’t you Diamond?"
Diamond’s eyes lit up after finally getting recognized by someone.
"That’s me. You know me?" the feeling of being recognized was truly addictive.
"Hehe, I know you. I follow you on Ioniq. You are doing a great job. Keep it up!"
Diamond was very happy to hear that.
"Thank you for your support. I will continue doing so and hope that those who like me will not stop doing good deeds."
"But is it really true that you started all this just to have people give you attention?"
Diamond laughed heartily when she heard that. She didn’t expect to be asked directly like that.
"Um. That’s why I started it. Never in a million years did I think that I would be loved to this extent. I am grateful that I still chose to do so in the first place."freeωebnovēl.c૦m
"You are a very honest person. I didn’t think that you were truly like this in real life!"
"Haha, being many-faced can be tiresome. Besides, there is never such a thing as going wrong by being outspoken about what you like."
"That’s very true."
Diamond had a great time chatting with the lady and since it wasn’t mandatory to sit while eating, Diamond joined the lady who was named Carol at her table for more conversations. As for her group, they were busy chatting with their own friends. She didn’t dare be a light bulb.
When she went to Carol’s table, she was introduced to her friends who were very happy to know Diamond. And their group continued to chat merrily as they ate their food.
"Is the farming business really lucrative?"
"Hehe, you should try it but only do a scale that you can manage. If you do more, then you might be in for some deep shit. Also, take into consideration if you can find water. Without water or rain, you can go under."
"That’s indeed true. I guess I can just buy a farm now and then work on it when the rain finally comes."
"That works as well. The farms would be selling cheap like pancakes right now."
The ladies were very cheerful and chatted about the farming business, after knowing that Diamond was in the business.
While talking about business, Carol shyly brought out the matter of the beauty cream and when her friends knew about it, they were interested in buying it. Diamond wouldn’t shy away from customers, so she kindly told them the price and how the creams could only be available in a few days.
The ladies were rich and didn’t mind parting with a few thousand. So, they ordered a bottle for a taste. After all, no matter how rich they were, it would be wasteful to buy several bottles without understanding what they were getting into.
The dinner went particularly well and everyone had a great time. Business cards were exchanged and more connections were made.
When dinner finally came to an end, everyone was still reluctant to leave, but the thought of the auction made everyone energetic, as they couldn’t wait to see what was in store.
When Diamond and her group were leaving, Gio, the assistant by Regina’s side, stopped Diamond.
"You can go and have a chat. We will meet tomorrow."
"Um, let’s meet tomorrow. We are tired."
Helena and Samantha urged Diamond to leave with Gio and didn’t mind the disturbance.
Seeing them so adamant like that, Diamond didn’t force it and bid everyone goodnight before following Gio, who took her to the top floor where the chairwoman’s office was.
Diamond couldn’t help but recall the information she received from Regina. The lady was truly involved in a lot of industries. No wonder why she got rich in a few decades.
She was truly in awe of Regina. After all, she rose all the way to where she was without the aid of the system, as Diamond did. Anywhere, as long as the system’s existence doesn’t get exposed, who would know?
"Please, enter. She is waiting for you!" Gio respectfully said, his gaze a bit cold. It made Diamond wonder if someone owed him millions for him to act like that.
Anyway, since he wasn’t her man, there was no need to bother with him.
"Thank you!" she politely said and nodded at Admire and the others before stepping into the spacious office.
As soon as she entered, she spotted the lady standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, smoking a cigarette. Diamond couldn’t help but frown a bit.
If there were things that she didn’t take upon when she got rich. It would be smoking and drinking excessively.
She only drinks wine now and then when the occasion is right.
She has barrels of good wine inside the Golden Space but she hasn’t drunk it yet. That simply showed how determined she was when it comes to drinking. As for smoking, why would she try that? Her father doesn’t even smoke. So why try something that no one in her family does?
"I am sorry to call upon you suddenly like that," Regina apologetically said as she turned around, stomping on the cigarette butt with her heel.
Diamond plastered a smile on her face and waved her hands as she replied, "It’s okay. I have been wondering when you were going to call me. It’s good that you didn’t waste time," not bothering to hide that she knew about Regina.
Regina chuckled when she heard that and started walking towards the desk. When she got there, she stood across from Diamond and responded, "I knew that you would connect the dots. I am just curious how you do it!"
Diamond’s lips curled upwards as she looked at the other and responded, "Then would it be fun if I tell you that?" her tone filled with teasing.
Regina broke into a hearty laughter when she heard that. She had to wipe away tears coming out from her eyes.
"You are truly an interesting person. Please sit down," she said amusingly as she gestured for Diamond to sit.
"Thank you!" Diamond said as she sat down, relaxed, without any worries.
Once the two ladies were seated, Regina clasped her hands on top of the desk and looked seriously at Diamond. The two locked gazes and Diamond didn’t evade the gaze but smilingly looked at Regina, waiting patiently for her to say a word.
After a moment of silence, Regina leaned back in her chair, plastering a smile on her face before saying, "I have been curious about what kind of person in my country could join the club. I always thought that perhaps it would be that madam Calla from the capital city. She is worth hundreds of millions so far. But never in a million years did I think that it would be you, a young girl from a humble background. Do you mind sharing a bit about what you really do?"
Regina knew that Diamond already knew about her identity and, since that was the case, there was no need to hide anymore. She was more curious about how Diamond did it.
It took her decades to be where she was right now. She recently joined the club and her life changed after knowing how special and well the club was. At that stage she was, she was just an ordinary member of the club and yet Diamond, who hadn’t yet met the other members, was already a diamond member.
Being such a member meant that the assets were billions in the universal currency. How did she do it?
Diamond chuckled faintly when she heard that and looked at Regina before responding, "Luck plays a role most of the time. But if you want a legit answer, then I can surely tell you that I happen to have the best assistant who helped me turn the measly cents I had into billions that I currently own," not lying a single bit.
After all, without Andrea, who worked very hard to trade for her every single day without fail. How could her GENESIS account have billions of dollars?
Of course, there was the system. However, the system always gave her reasonable monetary rewards and shares.
Regina felt envious of the assistant, but when she recalled Gio, that envy vanished. What better assistant would she need when Gio had everything that she could ever ask for?
"Thank you for sharing that. I hope that I didn’t overstep my boundaries."
"Nope, you didn’t. You are probably the first person with whom I shared a bit of detail about my finances. Consider yourself lucky!" she amusingly said, which made Regina chuckle.
"Thank you for trusting me," Regina sincerely said after knowing that fact.
"It’s not a big deal. So why exactly did you invite me? It can’t be all about trying to know about me, right?" Diamond finally asked what had been on her mind ever since she recalled about this appointment.
When Regina heard that, she chuckled apologetically at Diamond and pulled the drawer open, where she took an envelope out of it.
