Chapter 767: Chapter 765: MAKING NEW FRIENDS - AGATHA

"Are you by yourself, by chance?" the young lady asked politely as she looked around.

Diamond nodded. "Um, I am admiring the fish. You want to join?"

The lady spread her arms nonchalantly, saying, "As long as you don’t mind!" a smile blossoming on her face.

Diamond shrugged in return and responded, "I don’t mind company."

The young lady beamed as she came closer and cheerfully said, "That’s great. I was feeling lonely as well and thought of walking around to get rid of the boredom. I am Agatha, by the way. What should I call you?" before asking with a curious tone.

Diamond didn’t expect to see such a cheerful person at all. Moreover, the other party didn’t make her feel disgusted, and that made her like the other party a bit more.

"I am Diamond. It’s nice meeting you Agatha," Diamond answered politely and with a smile as she looked at Agatha.

Agatha smiled at her as she responded to that, "You have a beautiful name and it’s nice meeting you as well. I hope that you won’t find me talkative. I tend to talk a lot when I come across someone that I like!" a hint of shyness on her face as she said that.

"Haha," Diamond couldn’t help but chuckle amusedly when she heard that. How could she be so cute like that?

"I guess we are the same. I talk a lot as well, though I might end up seeming like preaching!"

Agatha waved her hand, the fan unfolding in the process while responding to that, "I believe that we are only like that when we are faced with people who make us comfortable. Besides, I wouldn’t mind listening to a preaching. Hehe, I tend to learn a lot through something like that."

Diamond’s gaze deepened when she looked at Agatha, feeling as if she had found a kindred comrade.

She wasn’t that talkative before to be honest. However, she found out after having so much money that whenever she was with someone or people she cares about. Once she opens her mouth, she would never stop.

As a result, she would end up giving people life lessons or debating about this and that. something that these people didn’t even ask for. Thinking about how uncomfortable that might make others feel, she started minimizing opening her mouth. Thankfully, most of her friends aren’t even in Frin city. They only chat now and then online.

She just didn’t expect that she was not the only one with the same problem. There were many of them out there.

"I hope that you really don’t mind this!" Agatha nervously said after seeing that Diamond was silent without responding.

That remark brought her back to reality. Diamond waved her hands with a smile, replying, "I really don’t mind. Just don’t regret it when my mouth won’t stop shooting!"

Agatha chuckled heartily when she heard that and cheerfully said shortly after that, "I am a good listener. You can fire away!" and that made Diamond like the other even more.

The two clicked instantly and now that they weren’t alone, they started exploring the hotel cheerfully while chatting.

"So, Diamond, where do you stay? Are you a local or you are from another city?" Agatha asked curiously as she fanned herself while looking at Diamond who wasn’t dropping a single drop of sweat despite the hot weather.

"I stay in Frin City. I came here for an event," she answered truthfully.

"Oh~ what kind of event is that?"

"A dinner."

Agatha exclaimed as she came to a halt, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Diamond, making Diamond wonder why Agatha was acting that way.

But when Agatha’s question came, "You ... you can’t possibly be attending a certain formal dinner tomorrow night, right?" Diamond understood why the other was like that.

’Could it be that Agatha is one of the attendees?’ she wondered curiously as she looked at the other.

"Um. It should be the one. The one being hosted by Regina Williams," Diamond answered, revealing more details, and Agatha’s eyes widened, once again proving Diamond’s conjecture.

"It’s the same one!"

"Haha, I guess that we are fated. So where do you stay, yourself?" Diamond laughed heartily before asking curiously.

Agatha quickly gathered her calm and looked at Diamond affectionately, as if she was looking at a sister, and answered, "I am a local, but I haven’t been staying here in a few years. Started a business in city H."

Diamond’s interest was piqued when she heard that.

"What kind of business are you doing?" curious about what people her age were doing.

Agatha smiled shyly as she covered her face with the fan but still responded, "I own an esports team."

Diamond’s jaws dropped to the ground when she heard that and asked excitedly, "you can play esports?"

"Hehe, not that much but I have always been interested in them. However, I can’t play that well."

"It doesn’t matter if you can’t play well. Playing moderately is good as well. What made you start your own team? I believe that esports aren’t that popular in Orkney!" Diamond asked curiously, a hint of concern in her tone.

To be honest, she wasn’t ignorant when it comes to esports or games. that’s why she opened an account on that game streaming platform, despite never streaming there once.

Games had become an integral part of people, especially the young ones. Everywhere people were playing games but only doing so for leisure and not as a career option.

While on other continents, esports weren’t that bad of a career option, Orkney and Afreeka were a bit not that tolerant about the matter. So, she was quite surprised when she heard that. She couldn’t help but be worried and concerned.

After all, which mother would allow her son or daughter to play free games when education and learning other skills were deemed important?

Agatha revealed a wry smile when Diamond asked that, and Diamond knew that it wasn’t easy for the other.

Agatha started to walk, and Diamond followed suit without saying a word. After a while, Agatha started speaking, "it was the hardest decision I have made in my life. You know, the love I have for esports, I always wanted to play, go to the world champions and win. But alas, you know how it is here. Not everyone takes games seriously.

Due to my love for games, even my parents were alerted. I was punished a lot because of that. So, I went to university and got a degree like what they wanted. I worked in a company for a year or so before something happened which made me leave.

When I left that company, I vowed to follow my own dreams, even if it means to go against my family’s wishes. So, I moved away from the city and settled down in City H looking for an opportunity and I found it.

I opened an internet café, recruited eager children who were passionate about games. From ground up until now, I now own a team which would be competing in the Orkney Champions League just next month for the first time."

Agatha’s voice was filled with pride the more she talked about her passion. Diamond couldn’t help but feel for her and imagined how bad she had it to reach where she was.

It was truly courageous of her to start something, knowing that the ending might be brutal. The rate of failure was very high and anything could happen. Diamond truly feared for Agatha and, at the same time, applauded her for her courage.

"You are truly ... I commend you, really! I am very proud!" Diamond sincerely said as she patted Agatha’s shoulder.

She didn’t have any other words to say except that. After all, she hasn’t actually witnessed Agatha’s growth. The pain, the happiness and all that. If she spoke the wrong words, who knows how the other party would feel?

Agatha smiled brightly as she looked at Diamond and nodded, saying, "Thank you. It means a lot!"

"Thank you for sharing that with me as well. It’s great hearing such an inspiring story."

She wasn’t as courageous as Agatha. She only dared to venture into the known and not the unknown.

"I hope that I didn’t bore you!"

"Ah~ how can that be? I can listen to it all day long. So, what kind of games is your team playing? I will check it out and see later!"

When Diamond asked that, Agatha was very happy to share a lot of information regarding the industry and Diamond listened attentively, learning a lot in the process as well.

By the time she was done, they were reaching the pavilion, which didn’t have people. So, the two of them decided to take a breather there and continued with their chat.

When they got seated, it was Agatha’s moment to know more about Diamond.

"I have been too excited and only spoke about myself. Do you mind sharing a bit about yourself as well?" Agatha shyly asked, scratching her nose with the fan, thinking about how she went into a full talkative mood without exchanging information with Diamond.

Diamond chuckled when she heard that. Honestly, she was enjoying listening to someone else’s story. She had gotten used to others listening to her, that she nearly forgot what it was like to experience something like that.

However, when making friends, it was a normal occurrence for people to exchange stories. Since they got acquainted, she might as well share. After all, when tomorrow comes, her identity might no longer be hidden from Agatha anymore. So, she might as well just reveal it herself.

That way, it would feel special and pull Agatha to her.

It’s been ages since she made friends of her age, if she excludes Essy she met in Dielas during the opening of the Radiance Manor.
