Chapter 758 - 756: LEAVING ATHARY FOR COUNTY Y

Chapter 758: Chapter 756: LEAVING ATHARY FOR COUNTY Y

"Diamond, meet my three friends and die-hard fans of you," Julie cheerfully introduced after meeting with Diamond later in the lounge.

Diamond looked at the four girls with a smile in her eyes. It was rare to find such good friends who share a passion for the same thing, or in her case, a person.

She was glad to finally meet the other three.

Talking about these four girls, she would have to go back to the day when she went with the fans to those schools to donate toiletries.

Before Julie left, she asked for a favor and one she didn’t mind granting.

Julie wanted to travel with her to Country Y alongside her friends. The girls would be responsible for their own documents, VISAs and the like. Seeing that they were that eager, and she didn’t have anyone to go with, Diamond didn’t turn that down but readily accepted it.

It wouldn’t hurt traveling with others. Moreover, that same night, the twins sought the same deal as well. Thus, the number started from one, then increased to five before ending at seven. It would be a blast.

The names of the other three were respectively Wendy, Cally and Bia. The four of them had been friends since they were in kindergarten. Their friendship was strong and made Diamond feel sour at the thought of having no such friend next to her.

The five of them quickly got acquainted and chatted about a lot of things without any filter.

An hour later, they boarded the plane, and two hours later, they were in the capital city.

After getting there, the twins, Precious and Patience, were already at the airport, so the two groups quickly met and introductions were made.

The six fans became acquainted quickly and were all chatty. While they waited to board the plane, Diamond took that moment to deal with the matter she previously promised the fans. Creating the poll for them to vote about the split of income and projects.

The moment she posted that, the six girls’ phones pinged, and they hurriedly checked their phones. When they saw that it was the poll, they all raised their heads to look at Diamond, who was typing something on the phone.

"Sis, which one do you vote for?" Precious suddenly asked, her tone filled with curiosity.

Diamond raised her head, turned in the direction of the girls and responded, "Um, anything is fine, but I am curious about what it would be like if the projects were separated," and stopped there.

Once that answer was given, the six girls knew what to vote for and they hurriedly voted on both platforms.

Finally, the time to board the plane arrived and the seven of them boarded the plane with the many others.

The seven of them didn’t manage to sit close to each other, but thankfully they were all in the same cabin.

The flight was going to be a long one, and Diamond came prepared. There was so much work for her to look at. She didn’t believe that the boring flight would wear her out.

So, during the flight, the girls were curious about what Diamond was doing, but all they saw was her acting busy with a tablet in hand. They didn’t know what she was up to, but they had an inkling that she was working.

Indeed, Diamond was working. With so many companies that she owned, she had to check on reports and all that. Even though that work was given to others, Diamond understood the importance of being hands-on.

Since there were so many hours, she had to just sit on the plane without doing anything productive, she decided to use it to look deeper into what she had been just browsing through.

She started with the Charity Foundation, which was the vital pillar of her empire.

The accounts were looking pretty good, which was a huge relief for her. It’s been a while since Andrea stopped trading for the foundation. The funds of the foundation were pretty much a lot, and it was faring well on its own despite the large amounts of money being spent each month.

The foundation had become very popular, especially after she announced her ambassadorship. JEWELS especially dropped by now and then to donate. Other organizations were donating to the foundation in the form of clothing, food and the like.

It wasn’t all about money.

Looking at the foundations’ current vital projects, which are GBV cases, teenagers’ internships, social issues, workshops, orphanages and disaster prevention programs. She was happy to see that all six projects were faring better than when the year started.

Under GBV cases, the team wasn’t playing. They managed to send a lot of abusive spouses to prison and saved a lot of victims. They managed to mediate and help a lot of partners. They were spreading awareness every single day through posts and pamphlets.

On teenagers’ internships, this project mostly targets high schoolers and dropouts, mostly. Those still in school can choose to work part-time at the foundation during the weekend when there aren’t any classes or during the holidays. That was done to prevent them from going astray.

When these kids don’t have much to do, they tend to visit internet cafes, form bully groups, do drugs and the like. But when they are working, no such thing will happen. Besides, for those kids who were not faring well, that was a good chance for them to earn legally without worrying about whether the company or person would disappear or harm them.

As for dropouts, they get a job and free counseling. She hoped that by working at the foundation, they would get a chance to be sober, find their calling, and do something for themselves. And from what she was seeing, the feedback so far was positive and a lot of parents were even applying for their own kids.

It seems that the project would have to be increased in the future.

Social issues that involve the society as a whole. So far, the foundation has helped dig several boreholes into several communities, aiding in the issue of lack of water. It wasn’t all places that were like the villa complex, where water and electricity were never cut.

Although the rain was still stubborn, with perseverance, the water could still be dug underground. She didn’t know if the same problem would follow them in the next year. She would face that when the time comes.

After all, they couldn’t live without water.

Apart from wells, the foundation found a lot of poor families, widowed families, and the like. They donated food, clothes, and other ways that they could.

For workshops, Diamond was amazed when she saw how they decided to start helping those who had just come out of prison but couldn’t find a job. It’s always an issue for these people. Because of their criminal records, it becomes very hard to make a living.

So, the team leader of this project decided to go all out and start helping these people. So, several workshops were put in place with the partnership of Frin Prison Services. They were mainly doing crafts workshops. Teaching them how to work with their hands. Office jobs were no longer possible.

So currently for men, there was the mechanic workshop where they were being taught how to deal with cars in whatever capacity, which doesn’t include stealing them.

For the women, there was the baking workshop and handcraft workshop.

Although nothing has come out of the workshops yet since they were recently approved, Diamond was looking forward to the positivity that they would bring.

As for the orphanage, she had been following that project seriously and knew pretty well how it was faring. So, she skipped anything on the matter.

Lastly, there was the disaster prevention program project. As the name suggests, it deals with situations like their current ones. Because of drought, which wasn’t yet serious considering that it was just the first year and there was a possibility of next year being affected.

Diamond wanted to spread awareness of how people could actually survive throughout this period.

Whenever a disaster strikes, death will always follow. As long as she could do something about it, she wanted to save as many lives as she could.

That’s why the team in charge of this was involved in looking for places which were affected mostly by the lack of rain and providing aid in the form of food, information and awareness.

Their job was to find the means of lessening the worries of the people. And they were also doing a good job.

Thinking about this project, she was reminded of the old grains Cain purchased, the dried vegetables they were busy making, and so forth. One day, that would come in handy. The dam’s water levels were decreasing every single time the scorching heat hit.

Who knows when the soil will start refusing to make anything sprout? When that finally happened, dried vegetables and the like would become delicacies.

People would learn how to cherish them, then.
