Chapter 692: Chapter 690: ZOOM CLUB 9
"That was ..... Razor, what do you think about what happened?" one of Razor’s friends didn’t know what to say honestly but he was curious. So, he asked.
Razor closed his eyes as the whole race flashed through his mind. He clenched his fists worriedly the more he went over it repeatedly.
He snapped his eyes open and guffawed at his friend and without saying a word; he left, leaving everyone baffled but with amusement in their eyes.
When had they ever seen him suffering like that?
They couldn’t wait to see an interesting race later.
"How about we visit the betting center?" someone suggested with a knowing smile and all the people gathered there looked at each other with an understanding smile.
"Sure. They should be open by now, right?"
"Hehe, will we make money or lose it?"
"I don’t know, but I am going to be a double agent. Whoever wins, I will earn some money."
"Haha, what a good idea!"
"Let’s go!"
All the friends didn’t bother to follow Razor but headed towards the betting center to make some money, and they weren’t alone.
While others were enthusiastic about betting, Waylon, whose heart had finally settled, was smiling as he rubbed his hands, making his friends curious about what was in his thoughts.
However, only a few people understood him right now, and they wished desperately they didn’t. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
’I knew that she was good!’ he thought proudly as he recalled how stunning she was when racing.
Although he didn’t see her face throughout the race, he could already picture how beautiful she looked in the process.
Others might think that she lost, but he didn’t think so. She must have wanted to give her friend a face, that’s why she did that. Anyway, just thinking about how Wyatt might be feeling right now, his smile widened.
No man ever wanted to lose against a woman, especially when it comes to business or cars.
Unknown to Waylon, though, Wyatt wasn’t thinking like that at all.
After parking his car, he went to find Diamond and found her waiting for him in her car while surrounded by his friends.
The group was busy chatting and laughing merrily. Between them, there was nothing called competition.
While others might feel indignant at what happened, his only thought was ’as expected.’ With everything he had seen so far about her, it would be shocking if she didn’t have a few secrets for herself.
Although he felt indignant in the beginning, all those feelings vanished as he continued to race. Rather than feeling defeated, he felt as if he had learnt a lot. She made him want to push his heights and take a race seriously. He hadn’t raced that well in a very long time.
The race was well deserved.
No one just buys a sportscar to drive normally. The person should have the skills to own such a car. She might have never raced before, but what if she was talented?
So, while others expected him to be sour, he was genuinely happy and congratulated Diamond on her winning.
Although he won, he understood what truly happened and so did his friends.
Everyone celebrated together and shortly returned to the stands to watch. However, on their way there, they changed directions and went to the betting center.
Since the races were about to start, earning some money was good as well.
When they got there, they saw the names of the people racing that night, and Diamond’s name was there next to Razor. And her race was in two hours, which was good. As that would give her time to return home and arrive before midnight. It seems that the leaders had taken into consideration about her condition.
Wyatt’s name was also there, and he was racing twice, with the last race an hour after hers with Razor.
"I am afraid I won’t be here to watch this race," she regretfully said as she looked at Wyatt.
Wyatt smiled at her as he patted her shoulder and responded comfortingly, "it’s fine. I will send you the record later. Going home is important."
Diamond grinned happily when she heard that. ’How considerate!’ she mused happily.
"But I will still bet for you. I know that you will win, for sure!" she said boastfully but her tone was laced with sincerity. It made Wyatt feel touched.
Others watching the duo being sentimental cleared their throats and started placing their bets.
Others who had never seen Diamond at such a close range were quite amazed at how she was, just like another woman out there.
If she knew what they thought, she would roll her eyes at them and ask them if they thought she was an alien.
Anyway, after placing their bets, they left the center and headed for the stands to settle down. The first race was about to start, and they were eager to watch that.
When they returned to the stands, they didn’t sit down where they were before but changed places, which was more of Diamond’s idea.
And something that made the guys wonder why a change of heart.
However, Diamond, who everyone was wondering why the change of heart and place to sit, was busy squealing inwardly and doing her best to suppress the corners of her lips, which wanted to curl upwards.
Who would have thought that a visit to the racecourse would make her meet another ideal man for herself?
Diamond, whose standards had increased ever since meeting the twins, found herself coming across a handsome and heavenly man she just wanted to keep on looking at.
On her way to the stands, Diamond’s eyes were wandering as always. Checking out people and matching their faces with the names. Ever since she learnt that Razor had ill intentions towards her, she had Andrea dig deeper into other people. So, she was busy checking who was who.
While other people looked harmless on the surface, they were quite devious. So, she needed to look into them thoroughly and gauge their hostility towards her seriously. Moreover, while they might be enemies around, she might end up finding good friends as well.
So, she was dedicated. But who would have expected that instead of meeting those with ill intentions, she ended up locking a gaze with a young man who looked handsome like Adonis?
He was standing with his friends; she presumed, and he looked quite tall. She didn’t like men who were the same height as her or shorter than her. In her eyes, a man should be tall and give her that sense of security.
Being embraced by a taller man with broad shoulders and a lean body was just magnificent just thinking about it.
And that young man fit the bill perfectly. He looked very refreshing and youthful. While Wyatt carried a mature charm, Nolan looked like a beauty who was both sarcastic and icy at times, and Gael was like the tech nerd who looked hot, both wearing glasses and not.
Dean was the overbearing CEO type, the kind that might be involved in BDSM, which would be cool if she were to have him. Unfortunately, he was taken, so he was out of the question.
This young man looked sunny and would be the kind to bring some sunshine into her life.
