Chapter 697: Chapter 695: LET US NOT RACE AGAIN, OKAY?

Wyatt, however, wasn’t smiling.

He didn’t know what kind of dirty games Razor was playing there, but that was dangerous.

Although Diamond had kept her distance and didn’t bother going anywhere near Razor, what if that car had overturned and somehow implicated Diamond?

What would she have done?

She had just started racing a few hours ago. She wasn’t that proficient in dealing with such madness. If she had been hurt, how could he face her family or Diamond herself?

The more he thought about all sorts of things which could have gone wrong, he regretted inviting her to the event.

If he hadn’t invited her, she wouldn’t have ended up agreeing to join the club and be targeted like that.

Although she ended up winning and no one was hurt, Wyatt still didn’t feel at ease despite her teasing remarks.

Feeling angry with himself and at Diamond, he gritted his teeth and walked toward her, ignoring the other people who were congratulating her.

Without saying a word to anyone, he grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the others.

"Hey, Wyatt! What are you doing?"

"Don’t you dare do anything stupid there!"

"Wyatt!"

His friends started calling out to him, their voices laced with worry and warning.

However, he didn’t bother to listen to them at this point. He just wanted to bring her somewhere far where he could speak some sense in her.

Diamond, on the other hand, was grinning like an idiot inwardly despite the painful grip Wyatt had on her.

’Hehe. His feelings for me should be so deep!’ she couldn’t help but feel jittery at the thought of that.

She could see that he was very angry. If she wasn’t a woman, he might have given her a blow.

Honestly, she was happy seeing him like that. While others were happy and congratulating her, he was the only one filled with worry about what might have transpired on the track if that situation occurred.

In her eyes, that was sincerity. He was very sincere to her, and that feeling was touching.

She didn’t feel that she invested in him for nothing.

So, what if he berates her for a moment?

It has been a long time since anyone berated her.

Wyatt brought Diamond to a secluded corner, and none of his friends followed him.

Seeing that it was just the two of them, he stopped and turned around to face her. When he saw her expression, he nearly exploded on the spot, but he calmed himself down.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them.

He looked at Diamond, who had adjusted her expression and no longer looked like someone seeking a beating.

"You .... Let us not race again, in the future, okay?" he wanted to berate her badly, but as he looked into her eyes, he found himself pleading and saying those words.

So, what if he berates her? Could he stop her from doing what she feels like doing?

Even if he berates her, she is an adult. He was just her friend, so how could he stop her from doing it when he was doing it as well?

After rummaging through his brain for a moment, he could only come up with this. If they stop doing it together, she won’t race in the future, right?

Diamond, on the other hand, was taken aback with shock.

’What the heck is he talking about?’

She didn’t expect that he would say something like that. She expected to hear a mouthful of berating, but he ended up suggesting something like that.

Hearing that imploration in his tone, Diamond’s mood deflated as she started to look deeper into what she had done.

She must have worried him badly for him to suggest something hilarious like that. She didn’t know whether to speak the truth or not.

However, as she looked at his sincere gaze, her love for him overpowered and overwhelmed her. She found herself nodding her head and agreeing, "I will not race again!"

She didn’t want to see the people she loved and cared for being stressed like that.

If her parents and siblings saw her like that, she could imagine how scary and unsettling it would be for them. She didn’t want to worry anyone close to her again about things like that.

So, she agreed.

Her agreement shocked Wyatt, who wasn’t expecting her to agree easily like that. As a grown-up woman, he didn’t have the right to dictate her life like that but worry overwhelmed him and ended up suggesting something crazy like that.

However, not only did he not turn his suggestion down, but agreed to it with a smile on her face.

He didn’t know what to say or react when facing her like that.

Thankfully, Diamond spoke first. "I won’t do it again. This would be my last race. So, don’t worry, okay? It doesn’t suit you when you are angry!"

When he heard that, a smile blossomed involuntarily on his face as relief washed over him.

He hadn’t known Diamond for a long time, but he knew something. If she promises something, she rarely goes back on her words.

That was her reassurance, and he felt at ease. He couldn’t help but open his arms.

Diamond beamed at him, seeing that he was no longer angry. She didn’t want to face any angry Wyatt at all.

With his arms open, if she didn’t take advantage, she wouldn’t be called Diamond.

So, she walked into his embrace and leaned her head against his chest, feeling his strong arms holding her tightly.

"Remember your promise, dear!"

"Um, I will. I will only watch from now on!" she promised earnestly while inhaling his masculine scent.

Wyatt, unaware that someone was busy having thoughts about him, patted her back as a smile blossomed on his face.

"I will hold you for this. Don’t you forget!"

"I won’t!" she grinningly promised, while vowing that second to have Andrea get rid of any videos taken of her racing.

If her family were to see that, she could foresee how depressing the weekend would be.

She just wanted to have a good time with her family before everyone went back to being busy again.

While the two were busy hugging and promising each other, a certain person watched grimly at that scene and he felt suffocated.

And when the young lady who was with him said the following, "I didn’t think that Diamond was seeing Wyatt. Damn, they have hidden it deeply, but they look like a good match!" his mood further plummeted.

"I have seen enough. Let’s go back. We still have the restaurant to open!" he coldly said, as he walked away, forcing the other to follow hurriedly.

However, what he didn’t see was the smirk on the other’s face as she followed.

’The harvest was truly worth it!’ the lady celebrated as she skipped merrily while following the other.
