Chapter 679: Chapter 677: WYATT, THE BUSINESSMAN 3
Diamond sighed heavily as she listened to Wyatt’s story. Honestly, although she knew some bits about his life, hearing him saying that personally troubled her.
She grew up envying people from rich families, but listening to the anguish in Wyatt’s voice, she felt glad that it wasn’t the case.
With how she was raised, she would have been blacklisted by Ruby or her other family members if they were there.
She was grateful and glad that in her family; she was the one who brought the Perry name to its greatest heights. She was the one who made the family rich. So, no matter what, everyone needed to give her face.
She didn’t know what her children would be like. If they would fight for the assets or what. However, as long as she was alive, she would make sure that everyone lived peacefully.
As for eyeing her assets and money, she would rather donate to charity than let it cause rifts in the family.
That was why, for that moment, she decided to not raise her children willfully. She would teach them life and make sure that her family wouldn’t be like an emperor’s, where the winner is decided by shedding blood.
She didn’t want to see the children she bore hating and scheming against each other just for money. It would break her heart.
Listening to how Wyatt had to hide her shine all these years just because he didn’t want to be targeted. And thinking about how friends were the same, she flared up.
She looked at Wyatt and suddenly reached for his hands, startling him in the process.
"Dee_" he wanted to say something but Diamond beat her to it as she started asking him seriously, "Wyatt, do you think that hiding would solve anything?"
Upon hearing that, Wyatt was momentarily stunned before he hesitatingly shook his head.
Diamond’s lips curled upwards as she continued, "If it did, then a lot of children who wanted to live their lives peacefully wouldn’t have met a dead end. Just because you think that they would back away doesn’t mean that they would do so completely.
If you don’t show ambition, these people might even be wary of you more than anything else.
You are twenty-seven years old and you can’t continue to hide through your vlogging. One day you would need to find a wife or a lover, but can you find that person when you are acting cowardly like that?"
Wyatt was in a daze as he listened to that.
"Such a family like yours, unless they see it through to the end, they wouldn’t give up. Do you want them to decide on your partner? After all, whether they like it or not, you are still their child!" Diamond clicked her tongue furiously at the thought of how these big families tend to use their children for benefits.
Wyatt didn’t have anything to say as he listened to that. That was something that he was afraid of. He was at an age where he could marry. Knowing his family, it wouldn’t be surprising if he got called suddenly and was introduced to his fiancé.
It was normal. After all, his other siblings already have their marriages arranged. Knowing that woman, she would pick the worst person as his marriage partner. He didn’t want to be tainted. His body and heart both belong to Nolan, although he doesn’t know it.
"If you don’t want to suffer a loss in the future, you need to be direct with what you want. I just want to see you shine without hiding. You don’t want your partner or children to be ridiculed every time they go outside.
I told you before that it’s not your fault that you are an illegitimate child. You are quite a businessman, probably better than those siblings of yours!" she couldn’t help but add.
She didn’t know what Wyatt planned, but she sincerely hoped that he would think hard about what he wanted.
Hiding wouldn’t solve a single thing. She hides for three good years and suffers in silence. She was traumatized big time. She couldn’t have friends, couldn’t even date and, worst of all, couldn’t trust anyone.
However, when she faced those bullies and slapped their faces, she felt better.
Even if she hadn’t shown up in such a matter over a year ago, maybe in the past, if she had been confident and stood her ground and faced those bullies, she would have lived a better life after leaving Srad.
Anyway, everything always happens for a reason, but she hoped that in Wyatt’s case, he wouldn’t come out of the shell when it was too late. Especially when he was not interested in the family’s business.
If he was, she would encourage him to play the fool until he got rid of everyone blocking his path. But since that wasn’t the case, then perhaps showing that brilliance wouldn’t hurt.
"Diamond, I ..." her thoughts were disrupted by Wyatt’s voice, which brought her back to reality.
However, seeing him conflicted and unable to finish his words, she could only pat his hand and say to him, "Darling, I am here for you. No one can do anything to do as long as I am alive. If the family is toxic and it suffocates you, then leave it.
Or perhaps talk to your father or stepmother. Some conflicts are dealt with by communicating. People suffer from miscommunicating and end up suffering. You wouldn’t want that happening!"
She had suffered because of that as well. Thankfully, she talked it out and now everything was going smoothly.
Wyatt never thought that what he wanted to talk about ended up being this in the end. He didn’t regret it though, as this chat made him realize that Diamond’s head was full of a lot of things.
Instead of complicating things, being direct and open about one’s feelings might be the answer needed.
However, he knew that he needed to go through everything again. With his previous chat with his friends, he already decided on what he wanted to do, but with this additional chat, he had more things to do.
Wyatt pried Diamond’s hands from his before enveloping them with his own and said to her sincerely, "Thank you for saying that. I needed it," gratitude oozing from his tone.
Diamond grinned beautifully upon hearing that. She was glad to be of help. She didn’t know what Wyatt would choose, but she was rooting for him.
With the heavy topic out of the way, Diamond finally ordered something and by now, the number of customers had increased as well.
The beverages in the café were tasty, and she had nothing to be disappointed in. She enjoyed every single snack she ate while talking and laughing with Wyatt.
Through his mouth, she learnt what the boys were currently doing. The time they met at the farm, they shared their dreams. She was glad to hear that they were working on that.
Procrastination made a lot of people fail before they could even do a single thing. She was someone who procrastinated as well. She understood the hazards of such a thing.
So, she felt at ease knowing that the guys were serious about this and working their way towards building their dreams.
