SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 66: SPECIAL - 2
Chapter 66: SPECIAL Chapter 2
She felt good to finally settle down in the dorm and meet her three roommates that she would be sharing the room with for the next semester and, if lucky, for the whole year as well.
Diamond was greatly excited as she got to know her roommates, especially after the parents and guardians were gone.
Although she was a bit gloomy earlier after her mother left, her mood was quickly uplifted when she thought of how she wasn’t alone. And how she had three more people to keep her busy and entertained.
As it was the first night for the four of them, and they still didn’t know each other well, introductions were truly needed.
Diamond actually wasn’t a chatterbox, and she had a few friends because of that. Initiating a conversation was always a problem, so despite her eagerness to know her roommates, she kept to herself as she waited for the extroverts to do their jobs.
One of the girls, a girl that Diamond remembered very well, for she had stood out with how flashy her mother looked when she was in the dorm earlier.
And seeing that woman, Diamond could guess that the family was rich, at least on her terms.
That girl just happened to be part of the extroverts that Diamond was eagerly waiting for, to start the conversation and get all that done.
"Hello, girls. I know that we have introduced ourselves before, but that was brief. How about we do a more in-depth introduction since we will be roommates from now on?" she suggested, as she scanned everyone in the room before continuing, "I am Anna, by the way. What about you guys?"
Seeing how Anna didn’t even give anyone a chance to refute, Diamond could already foresee trouble in the future. However, that was for another time. For at the moment, knowing each other was of great importance.
The next extrovert, who was shorter than all of them, as Diamond had observed everyone secretly before, spoke next, as she introduced herself excitedly, "I am Daisy and it’s nice meeting you guys."
Seeing that only two of them were left, Diamond decided to go next as she didn’t want to be last.
"I am Diamond and it’s nice meeting you guys," she said shyly as she looked at the rest.
"I am Susan and a pleasure to meet you girls!"
With the basic introductions done between the girls, the first phase of knowing each other was indeed done.
Paaaa.
"That’s great then!" Anna said as she clapped her hands, "I am local. Born and live in Srad and you?"
Following Anna’s lead, everyone began to answer more questions as they all revealed vital details about themselves.
After thirty minutes of talking, everyone knew the basics about everyone that needed to be known, including those who were dating or not.
Seeing how carefree everyone was, Diamond was very happy and relieved, as she was afraid that things might now work very well and everyone would be divided.
Although Anna and Daisy had shown from the beginning that they were the kind of people who love leading others.
And also showed how they didn’t like anyone going against them judging by the way they were continuously throwing one question after the other without giving others a chance, Diamond felt that there wasn’t a reason to worry.
No two roosters could peacefully stay in the same coop. They were doomed from the beginning unless one of them simmered down. Which was impossible from the way she had seen it earlier.
And with them fighting openly or secretly in the future, Diamond hoped that she would be free to do whatever she wanted as she searched for ways to better her future.
The first night should have passed peacefully. However, due to being in a new environment and without the old teddy bear, her mother bought for her when she was ten years old, Diamond had insomnia and was forced to chat with her mother in the first half of the night.
Since they did not have relatives in Srad, her mother took the night bus back to Taco, so Diamond was able to chat with her.
When the sun rose the next day, Diamond felt gloomy and her dark circles were drooping. And she looked like a panda from a zoo.
Luckily, being a girl or a woman, makeup was a must-have thing to know. And whether it was cheap or expensive, as long as it covered and concealed what should be hidden, it was a lifesaver.
The girls greeted each other groggily and enthusiastically in the morning. And they all took turns to take a shower after that.
After showering, they all began to change. And it was another moment of checking each other’s economic status. As it was possible to find out about that, by following tiny details.
Diamond’s parents had done their best when buying her clothes, so despite them being cheaper than what others might wear, they were still good, and above all; they suited her well.
It wasn’t an official day to start school, as students were still pouring in. But it was one of the few days that they all had to tour the school and get used to it before serious business started.
And Diamond, hating to become anyone’s follower, didn’t bother with her roommates as she politely declined their invitation to go to the school entrance to look at the newcomers.
Why would she go and look at people when she could spend that time doing something productive?
She wanted to know the campus as if it was her home backyard. That way, she won’t be like a headless chicken when she wants something.
So, while others were busy checking other students to see who was who. Diamond, who had her breakfast at the canteen, used the map provided by the school to take a look at the library first, where she applied for her student ID before roaming around in search of her faculty.
Despite getting average marks, she still managed to enter the business administration faculty in hopes that one day she would become a well-known tycoon if heavens permitted.
Who didn’t want to become rich and a tycoon?
In her mind, she thought that as long as she got a degree, she would be able to get a job, save a lot of money, and start her own business.
The thought of becoming a boss, and having several employees working for her, was just too sweet for her to give up
But who said that all dreams could be fulfilled?
Life was never fair. And, as if it was a jokester, it really loved toying with people and pushing them towards paths that they never thought would take.
And if they ever thought of that before, then the magnitude of their actions would truly leave them drowning in regrets. And, most of the time, leaving them without a chance of turning back.
Enjoying herself as a young adult who just started university, Diamond still wasn’t aware of what the future was waiting for her. And even if she did, would she take a different path than the one she already decided upon?
That would only be left to fate.
