SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 655 - 653: REJECTING THE INVITATION
Chapter 655: Chapter 653: REJECTING THE INVITATION
Although the four expected such a thing before, they couldn’t help but feel panged when they heard it.
One of the men asked in panic. "Child, if there is anything that you think we lack, you can tell us. We will do our best to solve it. Please, just think about this!" the man imploringly pleaded as he looked at her.
Diamond sighed dejectedly as she looked at the four, who seemed to have their hearts shattered brutally and responded. "It’s not that you are lacking, but honestly, like I said, my passion doesn’t lie there. I don’t have time to come for training and all that.
If you know me well, you should know that I run businesses and all that needs my attention. I can’t focus on sports. I am very sorry!"
Rather than beating around the bush, Diamond believed that being honest was the best medicine.
Although it was like that for her, to the four, it didn’t sound that way at all.
"By joining the national team, consider it as doing a patriotic duty and ...."
They tried all sorts of tricks to entice her, but her mind was already made, so it remained hardened.
As for patriotism, serving them with pills was already a good job well done, so why add another troublesome job on top of that?
After the negotiations failed, the director, who had been watching from the side seeing that it wasn’t going anywhere, decided to intervene and lend a hand.
She looked at Diamond, who remained unmoved, like a mountain, and felt sorry for the directors. Unlike those athletes who would go through ice and fire to join the team, Diamond was more of a first-generation rich kid. She has money and a lot of it, otherwise, she wouldn’t be spending so much on her charity foundation.
For someone with such money, did these people think that using such tricks to coerce her to join would work?
Diamond and the similar rich kids all desire freedom rather than restriction. Especially Diamond she had looked into for a while and had been keeping an eye on. She wouldn’t work well with restrictions.
So, she came up with a solution and hoped that it would work.
So, she looked at the five and started addressing them as politely as she could. She couldn’t dare afford to offend any of them.
"How about this? Rather than letting her join permanently, she can be an honorary member. If she has time, she can come and motivate the current athletes with training. As long as they see one of them training seriously, I do believe that the team may improve. What do you think?" she asked, seeing this as the only viable solution.
If Diamond were to train with these athletes and surpass them, it might not sit well with them. After all, everyone understood Diamond to be an influencer and a vase. She would be someone who would make people lose face if they really lost to her.
When Diamond heard that suggestion, her eyes lit up as she found this quite appropriate. By being an honorary member, her duties wouldn’t be much. The organization’s rules won’t tie her down.
If it comes to training, she might go and influence them greatly and for her country, perhaps help them by improving their physiques. That will be the best thing that she can do in her case.
Since they showed this much sincerity by coming all the way to Frin, she shouldn’t disappoint them, at least.
The four directors didn’t think up to that point, so when that was pointed out, their eyes brightened as they found a leeway to tackle this matter.
Using that approach, the four started making new promises which Diamond found acceptable.
After listening to them talking for a while, she finally opened her mouth to respond and said, "I can agree to that, but we might need to sit down and talk about this in detail," pushing the matter to a later date.
She didn’t want to make a decision hastily, despite finding the issue enticing and very much to her liking.
Hearing her suggesting that the five finally heaved with relief. As long as it could be discussed, who cares about the conditions?
"Okay, that can be done. But when can we meet?"
When Diamond heard that, she went silent for a while, going through her schedule for the next two weeks in her mind.
The following days weren’t suitable. She will be meeting with the chief tomorrow and then the interviews for the next two days.
She didn’t know what other things might pop up around that time, but for now, her plans were to leave for Dielas on the 6th since she wanted to visit the Radiance Manor. It’s been a while since her last visit.
Of course, it would have been better to visit that place early, but she had cars to wait for thus her delay.
With that into consideration, she looked at the four and asked, "How long will you be here? Because I will be free on the 29th this month and perhaps between 2 to 5 April."
When the four heard that, they looked at each other with a conflicted expressions before one of them responded, "How about we get back to you later after we talk this out?"
Diamond’s eyes flickered for a moment before she nodded in agreement.
Since there wasn’t an exact ending on this matter, the negotiations were still in progress.
Since there wasn’t much to talk about, Diamond exchanged contact details with the four before she left the tent.
It’s been an hour since she was in the tent, and it was around five. The crowd hadn’t fully dissipated, but she had no interest in going back to the stall lest she bump into any latecomers belonging to her fandom.
Instead, she contacted her parents whilst she was on the way to the parking lot. Unfortunately, after the marathon ended, the three of them didn’t linger for long but left since they didn’t know how long it would take for her to finish.
Knowing that her parents were long gone, she too didn’t see any point of lingering there any longer.
She didn’t have any appointments to keep. Tiana she would be meeting her another time and not tonight, thus giving her free time.
With that in mind, she happily drove home, very eager to enjoy the celebratory feast her mother had promised her.
Meanwhile, online it was chaotic, but in a good way.
Diamond’s name once again spread and a lot of people were angered by this matter.
Unfortunately, the person in question had no idea, so it didn’t create any particular waves.
