Chapter 63: Chapter 63
"Tap, tap, tap," the sound of the heels as she walked sounded throughout the halls.
"Are you not in a hurry?" Kian, seeing how super relaxed Diamond was being, couldn’t help but ask.
Diamond, hearing that, leaned more towards Kian without stopping and enjoying the sound of her heels hitting the floor and said, "My entire life, it’s been me going to a place first. Tonight, I will be the main star. And whatever time I reach there won’t matter, anyway."
"Oh! You are really going all out!" Kian asked teasingly, imagining how crazy it was going to be.
"You can say that, and at the same time, I am quite interested in what those people had planned for me!" Diamond said as several plots swirled in her mind.
Kian, rubbing her hand with hers in a comforting manner, responded, "No matter what they do. You don’t have to worry. I am here for you and I won’t let anything happen to you."
Hearing his assuring tone, Diamond couldn’t help but straighten herself and looked at the man she seemed to be falling for slowly, without warning. Something that she desperately didn’t want to see, but also couldn’t avoid.
"Hmm, then you better do that or else, Umphh!" Diamond snorted as she looked away.
Kian, seeing her acting like that, smiled at her as his blood raced wildly once again, "don’t worry. I will always be there for you, no matter what."
Diamond was obviously happy to hear that but still didn’t increase her pace despite the several curious gazes directed toward her.
Waiting impatiently inside a V. I. P room, Queen and others were starting to get irritated as they waited for that one person everyone was curious to see.
It’s been so many years since they last saw her. And without news of the other, as if she had just disappeared from the world, they wanted to see that woman desperately.
Queen, feeling angry at being played, glared angrily at the woman dressed in green and asked angrily, "Theresa, are you not fooling us?"
Theresa felt very wrong, actually. Why was she receiving the blows when she wasn’t the one late for the party?
"I am not, trust me, Queen. She should be here by now!" Theresa said, doing her best to sound convincing.
She was so angry at Diamond for playing her for a fool. It’s been over fifteen minutes since Diamond said that she was in the lobby. It didn’t take too much time to reach the room, and yet Diamond was nowhere to be found. How could she do that to her?
"I don’t care anymore! Call her and ask her. And let’s order some food. I am hungry, already!" Queen ordered without looking at anyone in particular.
Theresa immediately took out her phone and started calling. And as she waited impatiently for the other to answer her call, the door to the room suddenly opened.
"Wow!!"
"Who is that?"
"Did they come to the wrong place?"
"Thud."
Theresa, on the other hand, had her phone slip to the ground as she looked baffled at the female, mostly because that face looked very familiar to her.
"You..." standing up with difficulty, Theresa glared at the female with a pointed finger, unable to hide her hostility, "it can’t be you! Who are you?"
Theresa’s sudden outburst made the twenty-six people already in the room, to look at her before taking a glance at the couple standing at the door wearing amicable smiles on their faces.
Queen, seeing Theresa’s actions, couldn’t help but think of one possibility.
’It can’t be her, right?’ she asked herself as she looked closely at the woman standing by the door. ’That definitely can’t be right!’
There was no way she would believe that the female standing by the door was the same loser that she was planning on roasting and putting in her place.
She looked at that gown that the other was wearing and then compared it to hers. Queen just wanted to hide and completely forget the fact that she was the one who had planned for such a thing to happen.
"Who .... who are you?" not wanting to guess and get it wrong, another young woman wearing a yellow gown, asked politely. Her query was directed towards the couple that had yet to enter the room.
Looking at the group of familiar and not-so-familiar faces. Diamond wanted to roll on the floor and celebrate. After seeing their reactions
Since when did these people start to act so cute like that? Especially Theresa. There was definitely something wrong with her. She was the one who invited her and yet couldn’t accept it after seeing her in person. How could a person be so cowardly like that?
Why had she been afraid all these years to meet with her former classmates when they were nothing but pure cowards who cowered upon seeing someone superior to them?
Her greatest relief and disappointment at the same time was not seeing the two people she wanted to see and avoid at the same time.
And since those two weren’t there, Diamond quickly put herself in a position of superiority, for she felt that she truly deserved it.
’I am going to drive everyone crazy tonight. Just look forward to it!’ she mused as she looked at the woman in yellow, who was another person that she wouldn’t be able to forget easily.
She was one of the bad eggs that made the whole dozen rot. And one she wanted to throw so far away that she wouldn’t be able to find her way back home.
Pasting a smile on her face, Diamond locked gaze with the other and responded cooly, "Me! Ohhh, it’s a pity that you guys have already forgotten about me," as she shifted her gaze towards Theresa, "she is the one that invited me in the first place. How could you guys not even remember me? I am sad!"
"Pftt!" Kian stifled his laughter upon seeing how Diamond was acting.
That was a side that Kian had never known or seen from Diamond in the past two days that they had officially seen and met each other.
He never thought that she was that playful and could irritate people to such great lengths.
She was a pro at it and it didn’t seem like there was much to be worried about anymore.
’My lady can do it! Let’s see where the night will lead us.’
