Back on the farm, the gang was taking a rest after touring a portion of the farm. Because there was so much to be seen, their pace was sort of slow.

In the end, they all decided to take things slowly. After all, the farm wasn’t running away. They could still come back and see it again.

So, for this session, the gang took a look at the ranch side of the farm where there was poultry (chickens and ducks). There were broilers and free range.

On the other side of the ranch, there were several cattle for both meat and milk. Although currently for meat, the cattle were still being raised. Diamond wanted the cattle to increase in number first before slaughtering them.

That was why she bought more cows and one bull to encourage expansion. Having too many bulls in one kraal only causes unwanted trouble.

There were goats, sheep and pigs as well.

Although at the moment, the farm wasn’t selling any goats, sheep or pigs but chicken and ducks, it would be soon before these were sold.

She would be selling the meat in the fresh produce shops. There was a floor dedicated to the butchery, after all.

Another part of the farm they saw was obviously the dam. It was flourishing with water. It made it look like a lie when someone spoke about how the rain didn’t fall.

There were also cases of rivers drying and dams’ water levels decreasing.

Lastly, they saw the greenhouses where several herbs were being grown and cultivated.

When the gang heard what the herbs were used for, they couldn’t help but look at Diamond with a profound gaze.

They didn’t expect that Diamond would use such precious herbs to make tea. It was simply ridiculous.

There were other herbs which Diamond would be using in the production of the beauty cream and other recipes she had received before among those herbs as well.

Instead of running around like a headless chicken when the herbs were needed, having them cultivated now made sense to her.

During their rest, the gang decided to eat the food that they bought earlier as well as chat.

After the meal, the gang didn’t continue to tour the farm as they were now more curious about the second farm after hearing about it.

They took two cars to the next farm. Although walking was possible, they were kind of tired. They had walked too much during the tour, so a bit of rest would suffice.

The second farm wasn’t far, so it took a short time before the cars were parked.

When the guys alighted from the cars, they looked at the farm, which was pretty much empty except for the buildings being built.

"Let’s start with the dam. There isn’t much to see here as of yet," Cain suggested as he took the lead.

Diamond and the rest followed behind. On the way to the dam, Diamond explained a few things to the gang.

"When the farm starts operating, we shall be planting grain crops mostly and raising fish. I want the first farm to be used to raise livestock, grow vegetables alongside the herbs with other things."

"Is there any reason you would do that?" Mike, another of Wyatt’s friends, asked, confusingly.

Wouldn’t it be profitable to run the second farm the way she was running the first one?

"Um. We are in trying times. If you visit the shops where people buy food, you will understand what is happening." Diamond didn’t feel offended by Mike’s question but was rather happy to hear it.

Wyatt and his friends, despite being not their family’s favorite children, were quite ignorant of the way ordinary people lived. She had seen that today during the farm tour.

Rather than feeling upset because of that, she would teach them and enlighten them the way she did to the twins when she first saw them. With the twins, most people would have expected her to face-slap them and then not befriend them.

But why should she do so?

They were just kids, very spoiled and ignorant of the true world. As someone who suffered and saw the world at least, the cruel side of it, she should be different.

People all make mistakes, and she at some point made several of them. She couldn’t go back to undo them, but could only learn from the previous mistakes to become a better person.

When a person is lost, it’s better to bring the person back to the right path. If that fails, then other measures can be taken.

In the case of the twins, they were willing to be changed and, in the end, those girls became superb. She didn’t have anything to worry about when it was about them.

The same was true for Wyatt and his friends as well. While they might have suffered in some ways, it hadn’t reached the point of ordinary citizens.

So, a lesson was needed. That way, these rich scions would understand life better and perhaps be inspired to do something with their lives. She didn’t believe that they were satisfied with how things were right now.

"Prices have increased and for basic items such as mealie meal, rice and other food items people use and eat daily, it is a bit too much. For rich people like us, an increment in one dollar might not seem much, but to an ordinary person out there, earning a measly salary that one of us can spend in less than an hour, it’s too much.

We can’t live without the basics, and corn is part of the basics. So, to me, planting more maize is important. At least that way, I will have more maize, and mealie meal to sell to others out there."

From day one, rather than being concerned by the rich people, she was concerned about ordinary people. Some rich families barely ate pap. So they weren’t concerned about the maize issue, but for poor or ordinary families, pap was their life.

If she could provide that, why not?

The more she explained that the more Wyatt and his friends understood and looked at Diamond in a new light.

Cain was the most touched as he listened to that conversation. As someone who had been working for her since day one, he understood her the most.

If these men were to learn and know the other things, she had done but didn’t share, wouldn’t they be more touched?
