Chapter 461 - 459: SECOND FARM PLANS
Chapter 461: Chapter 459: SECOND FARM PLANS
At the farm, Diamond arrived only to find out that Cain had brought some of the staff to the second farm.
With Cain over that side, she could only leave her parents on the first farm and assign someone else to show them around.
The couple seemed a bit too excited when they saw the farm, and she couldn’t find the courage to let them go with her to that empty farm.
After leaving her parents at the farm, she drove to the second farm, where she found Cain and the others clearing the land.
Ever since she started getting serious with her farm, Diamond purchased all the tools and machines she thought were necessary.
There was no shortage of farm machinery, especially tractors. Tractors were especially good. All a farmer needed was to purchase a variety of farming tools and connect them to the tractor and the farmer did the work.
With some bit of trees here and there, a mini excavator was doing the digging and moving the trees and other debris on the field.
Some were using tractors and backhoes to clear the rocks, stumps and other small things the excavator couldn’t take care of.
And the remaining ones were busy handling the dirt manually. It was simply busy.
When Cain spotted her, he stopped what he was doing and hurriedly dashed towards her.
Like all the time, the man was very happy to see and couldn’t stop showing it.
With all pleasantries out of the way, Diamond and Cain went down to serious business.
Touring the land that had yet to be cleared and would take a while before something gets planted in it, Diamond already knew what she wanted to do with this farm.
"When the clearing is done, I want you to have a huge dam dug in the middle. It’s going to be used for irrigation purposes as well as for fishing. Rather than wasting more space to do fish farming, let the dam be for many purposes!" Diamond had thought hard about it.
Fish was a great source of nutrients and, with the country being a landlocked country, fish was a bit expensive.
She wanted her farm to be known for many things and providing a variety of such products to clients would do that for her.
There were so many things that she could do with a farm, but for now, she was going to concentrate on providing more food. As for luxurious products that can also be grown or raised at the farm, she would check those later once these two years passed peacefully.
"This farm in the future would be used to grow grain, mostly. While the other farm would be for vegetables and rearing of animals. I also need you to have dorms and granaries built. This can take time to finish, but as long as it’s done, then I am fine with everything else."
In order to deal with the current pandemic of drought which she knew that a lot of people were still relaxed and weren’t aware of the current situation, she could only do this.
There was nothing that she could do about that situation, however, making sure that there was enough food for those who could afford it was something that she could do.
And to manage this situation well, increasing the output of corn was the first thing that came to her mind.
In Athary, corn was one of the staples and an important staple that no one could live without, except for those people who took fancy lives to the fullest. Pretending as if they weren’t raised by corn but by other grains like rice and many others.
The land couldn’t produce any rice, so she didn’t even think of trying it. Where would she get the paddies?
Of course, her space might allow her to plant rice, but on the farm, that wasn’t doable.
So, for now, planting corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and yams on the second farm was the only thing that was on my mind.
Diamond shared her thoughts with Cian, and the man listened attentively.
"Ma’am, it’s a bit dry. I fear that the dam might not ....." Cain scratched his head as he said this, looking at Diamond with a worried expression.
Diamond’s lips curled upwards as she looked at Cain. "Don’t worry about this problem. We will have sufficient water. Just dig the dam once the clearing has finished. By the time the dam is finished, I might be back!"
Cain heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that.
There was one person he trusted the most, even more than himself and his wife. His boss was a person who created miracles.
He had seen that from day one. She turned the land that couldn’t produce much into a haven. The land could produce this and that for the whole year without withering.
He didn’t know what she did to the dam, but whatever she did, he liked it. The dam’s water level had never decreased from that time, no matter how much water was being used daily.
The machines were the ones getting tired, and the water kept on gushing.
Hearing her promise like this meant that she had something up her sleeve, and he was looking forward to it.
Diamond and Cain chatted more about the farms for a while before the conversation was finally done.
With everyone relayed, Diamond felt that it was time for her to go and pick up her parents at the other farm.
She left for the first farm with Cain, who was eager to meet her parents.
At the first farm, her parents were done with the touring and are currently in the herb greenhouses admiring the herbs.
Diamond introduced the three to each other before leaving them again.
Diamond wanted some chickens from the farm. The ones at home were few, so she needed to replenish.
At the same time, she wanted some for herself. Where she was going, there wouldn’t be any chicken, at least the one she was used to. So, she wanted to bring some to munch on at times.
With the storage ring and the Golden Space, she didn’t need to worry about the food getting spoiled. It would be kept safe all the time.
