Chapter 438: Chapter 436: FAMILY REUNION
Frin International Airport
"Hurry up! Why are you dawdling?" Belinda yelled at her daughter, who was dilly-dallying in the car, delaying them from going to the terminal.
"Just a minute!" Ruby called out as she applied some balm to her lips.
She couldn’t go out without making sure that she was looking fine.
Although not as famous as her sister, she has gained fame this past month ever since she opened a page online.
She had several people who followed her online and she can be recognized at any time. What if she isn’t in the right state and becomes a spectacle online?
After checking herself, Ruby alighted from the car and hurriedly ran towards her fuming mother.
Sticking her tongue at her mother, Ruby coquettishly coaxed, "I am here, Mom. Just needed to pad my face a bit. Don’t get angry at me, okay?" while shaking her mother’s arm.
Belinda, getting attacked by such cuteness unexpectedly, couldn’t find the energy to scold her youngest daughter.
Rather, she ended up saying, "Fine, let’s go inside. When your sister arrives, she should see us at once!" her tone was a bit helpless at how her two daughters knew how to render her speechless all the time.
Ruby, seeing that she had won, happily beamed at her mother before fixing the hat and mask on the other’s face.
Ruby knew her sister pretty well. Her sister didn’t like them being in the public’s eyes or having their information known. That was why, when she decided to become a public figure, Diamond repeatedly asked and warned her so many times. That way, she would know the consequences of being popular.
Ruby understood why Diamond was like that. Seeing how pretty popular she was, anything that she did was subjected to scrutiny.
The last time, her family was attacked, just because some people dug out the past that Diamond wanted to forget ever happened. If her sister wasn’t a badass and literally didn’t give a heck about other people’s thoughts, she might have suffered a huge loss.
Unfortunately for those who wished her bad, Diamond wasn’t one to run away from her past but gracefully accepted them as they were and even laid everything which happened back then.
In other words, she exposed her past. And now no one can use it against her.
However, just because she was okay with her information getting leaked didn’t mean that she loved seeing the parents under attack.
Since the two of them agreed and accepted being public figures, then the fire should only be at them and not towards the two who had birthed them and brought them into this world.
Before they left home, Ruby reminded her parents to bring masks and hats. Even if people speculate, it would just end there without their appearances getting exposed.
She was in her sister’s fan groups online and in the majority of those groups, there were photos of Diamond. She always wondered where these people got them from.
Some of them were so random that it made her wonder if everywhere Diamond was going, there were people who knew her. With that in mind, Ruby could only be extra careful.
Thankfully, the two didn’t make a fuss and simply accepted the arrangements.
She just hoped that when Diamond saw them, she wouldn’t make a fuss as to why she brought the parents here.
"What time is the plane landing?" as they walked towards the terminal, Richard asked his daughter.
Ruby, upon hearing the question, looked dazed for a bit before she turned to Garnet, her thoughts very clear.
Garnet, seeing the baton, passed to her, smiled at her foster father and replied, "Foster father, Big Sis’s plane has landed already. When we get inside, she should be done with the customs!"
"Huh!" Ruby exclaimed surprisingly upon hearing that.
Honestly, she didn’t expect the plane to arrive so early like that. She thought that she would spend a while as she waited for Diamond to arrive. But now, the other was already there. Just how fast was this plane?
When Belinda heard that, a smile blossomed on her face before she urged everyone to move faster.
The family of four entered the terminal and with Ruby and Garnet’s faces exposed, the two sisters caused quite a stir. People couldn’t help but be curious.
"Your sister will like the flowers, right?" feeling anxious, Belinda asked Ruby as her eyes shifted to the bouquet she was holding.
Ruby reassuringly patted her mother’s shoulder. "Mom, sister will love anything from you. So don’t stress yourself!"
Upon hearing that, Belinda heaved a sigh of relief before a smile blossomed on her face once again.
The family of four waited patiently for Diamond to come out and as they waited, suddenly Garnet said, "There she is!" pointing in a certain direction.
Upon hearing that, the other three automatically shifted their focus in that certain direction and voila, there she was indeed.
It’s been nearly six weeks since Belinda saw her daughter in person. And seeing her walking lazily as she dragged her suitcase towards where they were, she couldn’t help but tear up and at the same time felt speechless at what she was wearing.
Belinda poked her daughter and asked as she pointed at Diamond, who had spotted them by now. "Dear, does your sister dress like this all the time?" baffled by Diamond’s airport fashion.
Ruby chuckled faintly when she heard her mother’s question. She couldn’t help but take another closer look at Diamond and burst into laughter.
Belinda, seeing Ruby like that, had an inkling that it might even be worse. She couldn’t help but worry about her daughter. Was this truly, okay?
On the other hand, Garnet stifled her laughter as she looked aside, finding her foster mother’s reaction very cute.
She was acting like this because of this one outfit. If she had seen Diamond when she left for Strawford City, she would have been fuming.
When it comes to airport fashion, Diamond was truly one of a kind.
The sooner they get used to it, the better it is for all of them.
