Chapter 417 - 415: YOU LIKE HER, DON’T YOU?

Chapter 417: Chapter 415: YOU LIKE HER, DON’T YOU?

"Darling, is this essential?" asked a middle-aged woman sitting on the bed and looking at a young woman picking and dropping clothes with a frown.

The young woman, without turning her head, responded, "Mom! If I don’t look my best, that scheming vixen will definitely look down on me!" her tone was indignant and a frown on her face.

The middle-aged woman smiled knowingly as she looked at her daughter and retorted, "Portia, you like her, don’t you?" asking teasingly at this yandere daughter of hers.

Upon hearing that, Portia turned her head furiously at her mother and began retorting. "Mom! How can I like her? She humiliated me, slapped me in public, and made me do so many embarrassing things. How can I like her?" her fists clenched and teeth gritted, reluctant to admit such a remark.

’Who likes her?’

However, Emily, Portia’s mother, smiled as she looked at her daughter with that ’you know it’, smile. And that made Portia puff angrily as she looked away.

Emily, seeing her daughter speechless, became even more certain.

This daughter of hers was simply too spoiled, and it was their fault that she became like that. They couldn’t blame her at all. Everything that they had was hers. After all, she was their only daughter and the heiress to the empire that they painstakingly built all these years.

And since she was the child, they gave birth to after a long struggle, they couldn’t bear to watch any harm befall her. So, they were a bit too lax. As a result, Portia grew up unrestrained and made a lot of enemies.

At her age, she didn’t have any genuine friends. Those she associated with were all tails. The kind that would ditch her once she gets in trouble.

Honestly, as a mother, she didn’t even understand why and how her daughter stopped playing with the Ace twins.

She didn’t even understand why those three ended up on such bad terms that they had to cause havoc every time that they met.

Fortunately, the children’s enmity didn’t affect the adults. Otherwise, who knows what kind of battles the two families would be engaging in every time?

After so many years, her daughter finally found someone who could restrain her. How could she not feel complicated and have mixed emotions?

With a glance, she could tell that her daughter, for the first time, took something seriously. Otherwise, when that day she was scolded for making the family lose face, Portia wouldn’t have taken learning seriously.

In order to prove herself to that stranger who they later learn to be formidable but a bit low-key on other issues, Portia scared all of them.

Honestly, thinking about how dependable her daughter was in the past two days, Emily wished that she would remain like that forever.

The child who only knew to bathe and dress herself could spread the bed. How great that was?

To think that she drank coffee made by her daughter as well, she was even happier.

Although it was unbearable to drink, that doesn’t erase the fact that Portia made it.

And for the first time in many years, she heard her daughter apologizing. At some point, she even thought that Portia forgot that I am sorry exists in her vocabulary and yet she apologized to someone.

How formidable was Diamond for her daughter to act like that?

She liked her and hated her at the same time. At this rate, what if her daughter becomes a devout follower of Diamond and only listens to her?

Anyway, it was still early. Besides, Diamond didn’t stay in Strawford City, so her daughter was safe from that person’s clutches.

For now, she just needed to keep a closer watch and see where it went.

Meanwhile, Portia felt conflicted. Her inner thoughts constantly clashed with each other the more she digested her mother’s words.

As a young lady of a rich family, fawned over by others constantly, it can be said that Diamond was the first person to ever land a hit on her and got away with it.

It can also be said that she was the first person apart from her parents, who left her in awe. She was simply so firm and didn’t waver in front of power. Of course, knowing that she was one of the major shareholders of the mall and yet didn’t flaunt her power made her respect Diamond more.

And for a brief moment, she felt ashamed for her actions. She targeted the wrong person and ended up suffering worse.

Unfortunately, the deed was already done and no way to salvage the situation.

When she later learnt of Diamond’s other identity, she was overwhelmed by a strange feeling.

The more she watched her videos, photos, and posts, she suddenly found herself so little. It was as if she was just another grain of sand in a desert.

Diamond was not just pretty; she was also rich and capable.

For such a rich person, she could cook and do other things. Then what about her?

Why did the twins get so lucky to find such a sister? What about her?

Was she inferior to them?

She didn’t want to lose to the twins at all.

After getting compared to them from a young age, her mission in life became getting ahead of those two. One day, she was going to let people say, "The twins are inferior to you."

But at this rate, it didn’t seem to be the case.

Since they managed to rope Diamond, why shouldn’t she do the same as well?

With that thought in mind, Portia dressed beautifully and got ready to meet with Diamond.

She didn’t know if the twins were going to tag along like tails. So, she needed to look the best and beat them, no matter what.

Filled with determination, Portia ignored her mother, who seemed to be in a daze and continued to doll herself, armoring herself to the teeth.

It was war!
