SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 339 - 336: LINDSWEN MANOR
Chapter 339: Chapter 336: LINDSWEN MANOR
"Seriously, son, why didn’t you tell me about the prices when I was selling to Vivian yesterday?" sitting in the car, not in the mood to drive as she thought of how much loss she made, she asked accusingly.
{Mother, you were so excited I didn’t dare interrupt your good mood. Didn’t I rectify that now?}
"But ..."
{Relax. In the future, you can earn more. How about you sell some of your pills on the market? I will help you cover. It doesn’t hurt to earn more money and through this method, we can create more connections. If we don’t have, I am afraid that things might not go well for us in the future!}
Hearing that, Diamond sighed helplessly as she thought of this matter as well. it was because of this fear of having no connections, or people she could rally with that she had to resort to finding someone who didn’t exist and becoming a middleman.
"I know, son. But wouldn’t it be dangerous?"
{It won’t be. As long as your information remains secret, no one would dare come after you. As long as those people want help from you, they will protect you and if worse comes to worst, how about we find a few powerful men and make them my daddies? If they are in love with you, can they dare attack you?} Andrea shamelessly said at the end, making Diamond’s mouth open so wide that she didn’t have anything to say for a moment.
"You ... aren’t you becoming too willful?"
{It’s just a point. If you consider it, you will see that what I am talking about makes sense. One way or the other, one day your brilliance will be exposed. A lot of people would be after what you have and your family might suffer. But if we make allies with these powerful people, we won’t need to worry about much. Get one from the good side and another from the dark side. With that, what can they do to you?}
Diamond didn’t know what to think anymore. Andrea’s words made sense and yet, at the same time, it made her feel weird.
She just wanted to become a powerful woman; then why was she being forced to rely on other people now?
Could it be that there was no choice for her than to do so?
{Just think about it. You don’t have to necessarily do it!} seeing his mother conflicted, Andrea said.
"I understand, Andrea. For now, let’s concentrate on the matter at hand. I will think about it closely!" Diamond massaged her pounding temples as she said that.
{Um.}
After that, there was silence all the way to the manor, which was on the outskirts of Dielas.
As soon as the car left Dielas, Andrea’s voice sounded in her ear, {from the turn we are about to take, all the land you will be seen now belongs to the manor.}
Diamond’s eyes sparkled when she heard that. She couldn’t help but recall the information Andrea once gave her when she received the manor last year.
{Lindwens Manor is found in Dielas and it has a history that dates back three and a half centuries ago. It was built by an aristocratic family, the Lindwens, and has been in their possession until now.}
{According to some redacted information not known to the public, the manor was last lived in a century ago, after strange sightings started happening. In other words, the manor became haunted and whoever tried buying it from the Lindwens, something always happened to them.}
{So, for a century, no one could live there and it hasn’t been opened to the public as well. The manor is built on an expansive piece of land and consists of numerous courtyards and halls. It is built on top of the mountain and whoever owns the manor also owns the mountain.}
Taking all that into consideration, the manor was more of an estate considering how it sat on a piece of land which was over 7,000 acres, including the mountain.
She had received such a bargain and one she had neglected a lot.
The car drove smoothly through the roads and it was good to see that the roads were well maintained.
As the manor was built on top of the mountain, she was quite curious whether they would drive there or not.
However, what she saw was even crazier.
After passing several guard posts, which were three gates. Each gate had an electrical fence surrounding it, and no one really manning the place except for a robotic voice, which she learnt belonged to one of Andrea’s kids.
There were no guards, but the security was top-notch, which made her sigh with relief.
{The security was lax before, so had people install the three fences. With this, even if they dare, they would think twice!}
"What if they fly in?"
{Hehe, I would be looking forward to that!} Andrea’s chortle sounded a bit scary and Diamond had an inkling that she didn’t want to know what Andrea had done for him to be that confident.
After passing the three gates, the car reached the bottom of the mountain.
The land was well taken care of and looking at the grass and trees; she didn’t find anything interesting. Her curiosity was how they were going to go up there and how safe the road was.
However, Andrea was determined to shock her on this day.
Driving straight towards the mountain, Diamond nervously sat on the seat, not bothering to ask Andrea what was going on.
As much as she was nervous about her son being reckless, she was anticipating what antics Andrea was doing.
Were they probably in the Batman era? She found that thought ridiculous.
However, when she saw the mountain literally opening as if there was a sliding door there, she gawked as her jaws dropped to the ground.
"You ... don’t tell me you did this as well?" Diamond stuttered as her eyes darted, looking at the platform where the car was supposed to stop at.
It looked like an elevator, considering how the part of the mountain was empty. She could see all the way to the top as the place had suddenly lit up.
{I won’t take credit for this. I found this already here. It is more of a secret path. We can either use this or the normal road. However, this one is faster and takes us directly to the manor’s garage.}
Hearing that, Diamond for a moment didn’t know what to say at all. Judging from what she knew about the manor, could it be that a century ago, the previous owner installed this?
If it was like that, then how many more things were hiding in the manor?
