Chapter 265 - 263: RUBY GOES TO SCHOOL

Chapter 265: Chapter 263: RUBY GOES TO SCHOOL

The next morning, Ruby woke up pretty early despite sleeping late. With the excitement of going to university and no longer a high schooler, she was filled with so much excitement.

With the school being pretty close, Ruby didn’t have to leave home early. It was around twenty minutes by car.

So, after waking up, she busied herself with preparations. It was her first day at school and she wanted to look the best.

While she prepared breakfast, she received a call from Diamond, who told her that she was almost there.

When Ruby heard that, she teared up. Honestly, she wasn’t expecting Diamond to send her to school. It reminded her of the days when she started kindergarten, primary, and high school. Back then, it was her parents who sent her to school, but now it had changed to her big sister.

How could she not be emotional?

Knowing that Diamond was coming, she increased the portions, since she was certain that Diamond would eat as long as the food was given to her.

After preparing the food, she washed up and wore the outfit she had prepared for the first day.

Leaving a good first impression was always the best, and she wasn’t going to mess it up and miss a chance to become an extraordinary and sensational figure at school.

When she was done wearing it, suddenly someone started knocking on her door.

Wondering if her sister had arrived despite not calling, she hurried to the door only to find a familiar face smiling brightly at her standing by the door with another unfamiliar face.

"Good morning, Ruby!" greeting Ruby was Eugene, the chatterbox, the girl who always makes it impossible for people to hate her.

Seeing Eugene, Ruby flashed a smile at her before responding, "Good morning to you too, Eugene!"

Eugene egged her friend who was standing next to her before saying to Ruby with a smile, "This is my best friend and roommate, Portia. She arrived pretty late last night," introducing the friend to her.

Ruby looked at Portia with a smile on her face and said, "I have heard about you from Eugene. It’s a pleasure to see you, finally," greeting Portia, who seemed to have a completely different persona from Eugene.

While Eugene could be seen from a distance that she was the extra extrovert who loved talking, Portia, on the other hand, was the opposite. She was the quiet and calm one. And the expression on her face witnessing Eugen in her talkative state was everything to Ruby.

She could imagine how Portia had been holding up and keeping up with Eugene all these years.

"It’s nice meeting you, too. I have a lot from Eugene," Portia responded with a smile on her face as a twinkle appeared in her eyes.

She had indeed heard a lot that the two of them slept pretty ate and yet had to wake up pretty early again.

However, despite her dissatisfaction with Eugene talking about other people when they could have been talking about themselves, she was grateful that she listened.

Otherwise, who would have known that she was living opposite the younger sister of an e-celeb she was following on Ioniq?

Unlike Eugene, who was busy with her part times and studies without lingering much on social media platforms, Portia reveled in following stars.

Seeing people who have nothing to do with hers and seeing how well or bad they are living provides her with comfort.

She gets to satisfy her mind and soul while creating a goal for herself in the future. For example, by following DIAMOND, every time a photo of her eating, dressed in any brand or shopping, she just gets to fantasize what it would be like to have so much money.

And to think that someone with so much money was almost living in the same complex as her. How could she continue being upset with Eugene?

In the end, weren’t both of them standing in front of a young girl who was almost a replica of DIAMOND?

That was considered an achievement to her. She can get to brag in the fan group about it if others believe her in the process.

"Ruby, what time are you going to school?" Eugene asked as soon as the introductions were done.

Ruby scratched her nose as she looked at the enthusiastic girl.

"Um. Not so sure. I am waiting for my sisters. They will be here in a while," she replied as she checked her Bormuga watch, which was sparkling on her left wrist.

"Oh! Diamond is coming again?" Eugene exclaimed happily at the thought of seeing the star again.

Ruby smiled helplessly seeing the exaggerated expression on Eugene’s face.

"Um. She will be sending me to school!" Ruby didn’t deny that but readily agreed.

"That’s good then!" Eugene said as she clapped her hands in excitement.

Guessing what her friend was probably up to, Portia tugged Eugene’s hem as she threw the other a warning gaze before looking at Ruby, saying, "Then we will take our leave. See you later!" and as soon as she was done, dragged Eugene away.

Looking at the reluctant Eugene who seemed to have more than she wanted to say, Ruby shook her head helplessly, wondering what Eugene was planning in her head before Portia poured a bucket of cold water over her head.

Anyway, she wasn’t given too much time to ponder as the elevator dinged on her floor.

Curious to see if it was any of her neighbors, whom she hadn’t seen yet, were going to come out of the elevator, she remained by the door fidgeting with her watch, making her look a bit busy and not waiting there intentionally.

But when the door opened, Ruby automatically raised her head to look at the people coming out of the elevator and when she saw the two people exiting the elevator, like a little girl, she dashed towards the people with a bright smile on her face.

Getting out of the elevator was Diamond, who was dressed beautifully for a special occasion. And behind her was Garnet, who was as well dressed to the nines, no longer emitting any bodyguard vibe.

And seeing Ruby dashing towards her with such an enthusiastic demeanor, how could she the sister not be happy?

She hadn’t done much for her baby sister, so knowing that she would be the guardian and always be there, or at least most of the time for Ruby, Diamond was ecstatic.

Sending Ruby to school was something that she had been looking forward to doing from the second Ruby came to live with her in Frin.

Like a parent sending her child to school, she was quite eager about it.

It reminded her of the day her parents sent her to Srad for university. That day was one of the brightest days of her life if she were to compare them with the horror that followed later.

Remembering how she also felt very low because of her cheap clothes, she didn’t want Ruby to fall into the same pit.

So, she decided to leave home early so that if Ruby’s choice of clothes on the first day weren’t up to her liking, she would force the little girl to rummage through her closet until they found something suitable.

And surely, Ruby wasn’t taking things seriously.

That’s what she thought as Ruby threw herself in her arms.
