Chapter 252 - 251: ALL FOR HER OWN GOOD

Chapter 252: Chapter 251: ALL FOR HER OWN GOOD

"Andrea!" as she stretched her limbs on the bed, she called out to her favorite child.

{It seems that you are now done, mother. How was it?} he asked cheerfully, his emoticon appearing on the tablet screen making Diamond let out a soft chuckle, loving how cute Andrea looked.

"A bit exhausting, but helpful."

{You should do it more. You have two libraries which you haven’t touched. I recommend you pick at least one book every day. It doesn’t matter which genre.}

"You want your mother to become a scholar?" she couldn’t help but chuckle softly as she rolled her exhausted body onto the king-sized bed.

{Just take it as nurturing your brain and mind. You are taking the path of a celebrity. Do you want to shame yourself by not being knowledgeable about the future?}

"You ...." And that statement truly poked one of her sore points.

What was wrong with these AIs? It was as if they were made from the same mold, having similar thoughts and there that day to just remind her of what she was trying to forget.

{I am doing this for your own good, mother. Remember that I can’t be exposed and so are my children. You need to be well-equipped. You never know what the day might bring you,} he reminded, his tone filled with concern.

And hearing that, Diamond could only exhale her dissatisfaction and accept the reproach with a smile.

He was doing it for her own good, and so was the system. So why pull on a long face?

"I will bear that in mind and thanks for the reminder!" with a smile on her face, Diamond, who was now calm and accepting, thanked her AI son.

{You are welcome. Doing the best is always for you. So, mother. How can I help you? It’s pretty late, you need to rest.}

Diamond’s smile blossomed further upon hearing the concern of her son. Too bad she wasn’t sleepy at all.

"Hehe, I am not sleepy, so tonight we can talk about life. I have been too busy to spend time with you!" she genuinely said, though she knew pretty well that she wanted to give Andrea some work later.

{It’s not like you will be playing. I know your good intentions, so never feel guilty.}

"Um. I will always bear that in mind."

{That will be the best. Anyway, before having that chat, do you have any instructions? I will pass the assignments to my kids and see how they can accomplish the work.}

"Oh! They can do that, too?" she asked astonishingly, as she thought of the grandchildren she hadn’t met yet.

{Yes. They have been learning and are quite fast learners.}

"I am glad to hear that. Anyway, it’s not a lot. I just need help with finding some trustworthy people. It doesn’t matter where you would find them. But they should all be Athary citizens, well learned ...."

Since Andrea had made it easier for her, Diamond didn’t stand on ceremony.

Diamond wanted Andrea to find her secretaries, who would be promoted to general managers once she was satisfied with their hard work. So, the kind of candidates she wanted had to fit the criteria.

They should be hardworking, honest people at least inside the company. She didn’t mind if they weren’t as honest as she hoped. After all, business is like a battlefield and it is either you win or lose.

What she wouldn’t like is to have a devious person who knows how to take advantage of the employees and abuse his authority. She didn’t want such kind of people anyway, near her businesses.

The people should have experience in the fields which she wanted. For example, she was currently looking for people who would be in charge of the trading company. And that means that the person would be knowledgeable about stocks and anything related to it.

At the same time, the person should have management skills which would be useful when leading the company on her behalf in the future.

So, in total, she wanted six secretaries and by doing so, it meant that she would have to inform Nancy not to recruit any GM for her for the three companies she was in charge of handling in the meantime.

{I will have the kids start looking.} Andrea responded after hearing all the requirements.

"Also, find me a few buildings. I still have a lot of them missing and I can’t let this go on," she sighed dejectedly as she thought of the problem.

{Which kind do you want?}

"Reasonable buildings. They don’t need to be necessary in the CBDs or main malls. As long as they are fine and spacious, I want to see them. And find me suitable buildings for cafes and restaurants as well."

For the restaurants and cafes, they didn’t need to be in crowded places. That would make her staff work like crazy. She wanted to offer limited kinds of products which wouldn’t flood the market like cabbage.

She wanted people to crave and be willing to buy at any price for her goods, especially for the cafes and restaurants.

Besides, if those two places got crowded, what would she do if she didn’t have any resources to supply them?

So, she might as well be principled from the start.

{Okay, I will keep that in mind.}

With the issues settled, Diamond and Andrea began to chat about a lot of things. It was mainly Andrea bringing up a topic about the current affairs and Diamond adding her thoughts.

By the time she was running around the court, Diamond couldn’t help but feel as if she had been scammed.

Was that how others talk and chat?

Why did it seem as if she was attending a lecture on current affairs?

Recalling how her mind was filled with rich knowledge of what was going on around the globe, Diamond could only chuckle helplessly.

"I guess it’s not that bad as well. Maybe I should do this more in the future."

What better way to learn without using books was as good as that?
