SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 249 - 247: SUMMIT UNIVERSITY
Chapter 249: Chapter 247: SUMMIT UNIVERSITY
The next day, Diamond, who was used to waking up early, woke up earlier than before.
She was a bit excited actually and the thought of dealing with the final procedures so that her baby sister would be attending university the following week. She couldn’t settle.
It was a Friday and since she was planning to send Ruby to her university, the place she would be studying in the coming four years, she didn’t bother to go to the foundation.
The people there were trustworthy. Besides, there was Andrea, always keeping an eye on any movements they make, so she was at ease.
Around nine in the morning, the three of them were ready to leave the court for the school.
Instead of using separate cars as they had been doing in the past few days, the three of them took Garnet’s SUV and, for the first time in a very long time, Diamond wasn’t driving.
Rather, she was at the back, her eyes closed as she listened to Garnet and Ruby talking enthusiastically about certain topics seated in the front.
The drive from the court to the university was quite a stretch, so it took a while until they arrived.
By the time the gates of the university came into view, it was nearing eleven o’clock.
There were several cars parked around the campus. Fortunately, it didn’t take much long before they found a parking space.
After parking the car, the three sisters got out of the car, attracting the surrounding people’s attention.
After all, it wasn’t every day they got to see three beauties who looked nearly alike in one frame.
Dressed simple and yet looking elegantly, the three Perry sisters oozed with so much confidence that was hard to cover up.
Wanting to create a good impression on whoever she would see later when processing the documents, she had to come and deal with as the guardian since paying tuition could be done through bank transfers or online, Diamond’s looks were enough to keep people second-guessing just who exactly she was and where the three girls came from.
When she first rummaged through her closet, which wasn’t full until now, she nearly picked a dress suitable for the red carpet but seeing how hot it was, in the end, she opted for something simple and cooler. At the same time, that would make people to not underestimate her.
She had realized the importance of knowing how to dress when she was in university.
Students and parents tend to judge other people by the way they dress and look. If it wasn’t for the pressure back then, would she have fallen so low as she did when she was still studying?
She didn’t want anyone to have the impression that her baby sister was a bumpkin and that she was poor.
Unlike her, Ruby didn’t like showing off a lot. Rather, she didn’t have a lot of expensive clothes like she did. Ruby, at times, was frugal and tended to have a boundary when buying clothes.
But that wasn’t the same for Diamond. As long as she likes it, then she would buy it and wear it if there was an occasion for it.
So, despite mentioning simple, it really wasn’t as simple as she was saying, since she was wearing another Vertah outfit which was all thanks to the system rewarding her sometime earlier last year.
She was wearing a white bubble skirt and a red strapless top, accompanied by a red diamond pendant which hung nicely on her cleavage and looked bountiful to the eye.
Her long hair which she hadn’t dealt with yet as she hadn’t gone to the salon since she had been so busy was tied in a reckless high ponytail but still, the hair still hung majestically, making those people see her if that was really her own hair or just another hair piece.
As for the shoes, Diamond wore beaded sandals which exposed her beautiful feet and well-manicured toes.
In her hand, she held a small bag which had her phone and wallet.
As for Ruby, the little girl looked very youthful. She wore a pair of blue high-waist jeans which accentuated her well-proportioned body. Despite being just eighteen, Ruby’s figure was top-notch.
She paired the jeans with a white foundation t-shirt which had both the foundation’s name and hers printed on it.
She wore flat shoes for easy walking and no jewelry could be seen on her body except for that H&H watch on her wrist, which Diamond bought for Ruby the previous year for nearly two hundred thousand dollars.
Garnet dressed more so like Ruby and the two looked like twins at first glance.
"Who are they?"
"I think that they are students. Can’t you see they all look young?"
"Why does the oldest one look familiar?"
"Hehe, isn’t that a pickup line you dropping?"
"I am really serious!"
"Umph! Keep your eyes on the front and stop ogling them. Aren’t you afraid of provoking others?"
It was a bit chaotic on the other side but on Diamond’s side; she was feeling too joyful.
How long had it been for her since she stepped foot on any campus?
After everything she experienced back then, she developed a trauma, and it made her erase anything she sensed to cause danger to her. And school was one of them.
But now she was no longer that cowardly person. So why fear when she could just enjoy herself?
As for the curious people gawking at them once in a while, Diamond simply pushed them out of her mind and seriously went to do business.
There was a lot to do and there were a lot of people who needed to be attended to, so she didn’t dare be reckless and waste time.
With Diamond taking over everything, Ruby found her time at the university to be quite productive.
Maybe it was because whenever Diamond was, she would make the place brighten up. The way she interacted with the parents as they stood in the queue, once in a while bragging just like an elder, Ruby found herself wondering if someone had switched her sister.
She hadn’t seen her sister acting like that before.
As for Diamond, she was simply having fun. As she continued to talk to the guardians, she started having this crisis, which wasn’t that bad but a bit disturbing though very beneficial.
She seems to attract older people than people her age. Of course, there was the issue of these little sisters clamoring for her but for people her own age, it just didn’t seem to work.
But that was a problem for another day. She didn’t know whether that was good or not, but without seeing where it was going, how could she easily judge?
So, despite her discomfort, suspicions, and worry, Diamond kept on going. With a smile on her face, on top of it.
Chapter 248: SUMMIT UNIVERSITY 2
Summit University was one of the major universities in Frin. In fact, it was number two in the rankings just below Frin University.
The university had decades of reputation and it was well known for producing top-class students who would achieve greatness in society once they graduated.
It was easy for students from Summit University to find work in society. The connections were wide and the administration always made sure that they gave their best so that their students wouldn’t become bench sitters and homestay graduates.
That would be an insult to their great name.
Summit University was built in the school district, one of the most expensive places to live. Considering the good facilities and the easy access to a lot of service providers.
The university offers a range of programs, from humanities, sciences, information and technology, architectural and construction, engineering, business administration, education, law, social sciences, and accounting to hospitality.
Each program equated to a different faculty, so the university was quite large, with several faculty buildings spread all over. Providing enough space for students and privacy for students attending different programs every day.
The canteens were in abundance and food affordable, but there were still a few restaurants outside the university which sold food to students.
The university also provided a dorm stay. Unfortunately, the dorms weren’t a lot and couldn’t manage to accommodate a lot of students. So, just like in any other university, the students who want to stay at the dorms would apply early and, once approved, they would have the ticket.
Once the rooms are all occupied, the dorm stay applications will be closed. Those who fail to stay at the dorms would be forced to find accommodation elsewhere.
Students didn’t have to wear uniforms, actually, but it was there. It was not compulsory. The students had a choice of whether to wear it or not. But usually, during important occasions like opening day and any other day the administration deems important, all the students would be required to wear their uniforms.
Students have their own car park and bicycle parking space. With this, it could be seen that the school didn’t ban students from driving their own cars.
Diamond liked everything about the school, actually. And their efficiency when serving people was top-notch.
By the time it reached three in the afternoon, Diamond was finished with everything.
She got Ruby registered and paid her tuition for the whole year since she didn’t like getting reminded of the tuition once a new semester approached.
Ruby also got her student ID alongside several kids. The textbooks were distributed and so were the brand-new laptops the students would be required to use during their stay at the university in the coming four years.
The uniforms could be bought outside, so they didn’t get those at school.
With all of that done, there was no reason for Diamond and the girls to remain at school. The rest of the things, Ruby would complete herself, so she was at ease.
But before she left with the girls, Diamond, who had made a few mother friends while standing in queues and all that, added several numbers to her diamond-coated phone.
Her number even got added to the freshmen guardian group of the program Ruby would be taking, Business Administration.
The number of members was quite huge, almost two hundred, and the feeling of being a parent made her chest swell with pride.
With everything done to the T, Diamond and the girls finally left the school with their faces brimming with smiles.
When they left the school, they first dropped by a nearby café and bought some snacks and beverages before driving back to the court since it was a bit late.
On her way back home, Diamond received a message from Lucy, who informed her of the time and place to meet the next day.
The previous day, Lucy had informed her about the seller who was selling his business and house and she was interested.
When she parted with the woman, Lucy promised to come back to her once she had set up an appointment and that confirmation finally came to her.
She was happy knowing that she was about to bag more assets before the week ended.
[Ding! Do you want to sign in?]
Diamond’s eyes shook for a bit when she heard that.
She had been so excited that day that she nearly forgot that she hadn’t signed in at all.
’Sign in!’ how can she not agree to that?
[Ding! You have been rewarded with a ghost merchant team. Please wait for forty-eight hours and they will contact you.]
’System, what is this new game you are playing? A ghost merchant team? Are you giving me ghosts?’ that was the first time Diamond ever felt infuriated while confronting the system.
She understood that the system always had her best interest at heart, but ghosts, hehe, who wanted to be anywhere near ghosts? They scare the crap out of her!
[Host, sometimes I wonder if you are brain-dead or just plain foolish. Why should I give you ghosts? At least use that head of yours to think properly about what the name might also mean.]
’You!’ Diamond’s nose flared angrily at the thought of being scolded seriously by the system.
This system was still as sharp-tongued as ever. She had forgotten how she was roasted by it around December and now it was calling her stupid. How could she not be angry?
Fortunately, both Ruby and Garnet were so preoccupied with their stories that they didn’t notice that there was something wrong with Diamond, who was at the back.
[There is no need for you to be angry. Nourish your brain a bit more. You still have those pills. Don’t you?]
’Do you have a beef with me?’ she asked as she calmed herself down.
If the system had an intangible body, she would have confronted it face to face and had a nice talk with it.
[You know I can hear your thoughts, right?] the system reminded in a sarcastic tone.
The cold and systematic voice sounds very irritating and cold to the ear.
