After spending a day outside, Diamond was refreshed when she returned home. It was too hot, and the heatwave was simply too crazy for anyone to bear.

Talking about the heatwave and how crazy the temperature was around 30 to 39 degrees depending on the day and the time of the day, Diamond grimaced as she thought of the drought that had already hit them while others weren’t yet aware.

’I am doing my best!’ she comforted herself as she listened to Ruby talking about what happened at the foundation that day.

It seemed that everyone was interested in the projects and teams that Diamond had encouraged everyone to join.

As there were few employees to start the teams, the HR department had already issued employment notices on the website.

Diamond was too busy the whole day, so she didn’t have time to check that out. But as she listened to Ruby, she was glad to hear that almost everyone who was supposed to be in teams, had already called dibs in several teams and one team that was already full was the social issues which mainly dealt with society as well as school.

And then there was the teen internship one and GBV cases. These teams weren’t exactly full, but the figures were quite promising.

After hearing that everything was going well with the foundation, Diamond finally went to her room.

When she was listening to Ruby, she suddenly realized that Garnet didn’t have much to do, actually. Apart from following her, the other was literally too idle, and her being too idle didn’t sit well with her.

Garnet was one of the people she could trust. She was bound to her and wouldn’t betray her for any particular reason. After all, every gift rewarded to her by the system was like that.

So rather than letting her grow mold, she might as well find some use for her, but which kind exactly?

Thinking about that, her phone started ringing and thankfully, she was holding it in her hand when it did.

When she saw the person calling, all gloominess evaporated and was replaced by a smile which was filled with so much affection.

"Hello, dear!" she coquettishly greeted as soon as she picked.

[Hey, babes. How are you?] a familiar rich male voice sounded from the other side.

A smile blossomed on her face upon hearing that. "Good dear, just missing you!" lying with a straight face as she didn’t even have time to miss other people with how busy she was.

[I miss you too. I want to see you so badly!]

Hearing the man’s desire through the device, a smug smile appeared on her face.

"Then why don’t you come?" she asked teasingly, knowing that the other person couldn’t do so.

[Babes, come on! Don’t tease me like that?]

"Hahaha, you deserve that! After lying to me for weeks, I am letting you off easily!" she laughed heartily as she imagined how much he might be sulking hearing her being so cheerful like that.

[Hah, I guess I deserve it!] he sighed dejectedly on the other side making Diamond feel a pang of guilt in her heart.

"You really miss me?" she asked as she rolled on the bed, playing an invisible game by herself.

[Um. So much.]

"Then I will come and visit you!" she said abruptly as she came to a halt, her body facing down, with her legs kicking in the air merrily.

There was silence on the other side of the phone for a short while before a muffled voice responded, [Babes, you .... Then I will wait for you. I promise to make it up to you in the future, okay?]

Diamond, upon hearing that, smiled sincerely as she imagined what it would be like to have that man compensate her in the future.

"Okay. I will hold you to that. Are you done for today?" she asked with a smile, wondering when he would be done with his current job.

[Finished an hour ago. Currently at the hotel,] his voice sounded a bit tired as he said that.

"Then you should rest!" she urged worriedly, thinking about how badly he was having it.

[I will once I am done talking to you.]

Hearing him saying words which sounded very sweet, she felt very tingly, something she always felt whenever they were talking. Which girl didn’t like hearing such sweet words?

"Okay. You better not lie!"

[I won’t trust me.]

So, Diamond and her person talked for thirty more minutes before Diamond ruthlessly hung up, demanding the caller to go and rest.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to talk to him, but she was worried about his health.

The other had been sleeping late after working tirelessly for the whole day. Just what kind of project was so recklessly to force its workers to work for so long without rest?

Thinking about the inhumanity of the entertainment industry, Diamond couldn’t help but think of the company she registered and yet hasn’t made a move.

If the company starts running smoothly, would it be possible to sign her lover to her company?

After harvesting all mature crops, she didn’t forget to plant the soil again, watered it and admired her hard work for an hour.

Knowing that there was still time till dawn, Diamond practised her martial arts interchangeably, as she didn’t want to be proficient at one and mediocre at another.

By the time she was done, her overalls were plastered to her skin. She was stinking and her body felt very numb.

She dragged her tired body, which was slowly recovering thanks to the divine art which allowed her body to generate energy every second, to the lake.

She filled the wooden tub with water before soaking herself in it for a long time before she unknowingly fell asleep.

As she slept, her body soaking in the tub, Diamond, who had no awareness of what was happening in her space, had no idea that as she slept, an imaginary figure around her size suddenly appeared in front of her.

The figure floated around Diamond for a while as if she was busy checking the goods before disappearing, leaving a murmur which should have shocked Diamond if she had heard it.
