Chapter 243: Chapter 241: 2079 PLANS FOR THE FOUNDATION 3

Ruby stood up and didn’t cower as she looked at her sister, who sat on the highest chair while she sat in the crowd.

She understood that being home and at work was different, and she never complained. She also understood that her sister was doing everything for her sake, so getting more favor whilst learning nothing, something like that had never really come into mind.

"Um... I have been interning here ever since I finished my high school exams and thanks to everyone though the time was short, I learnt a lot. I grew up and matured a lot as through the job and work I was doing, I saw a lot of things I wouldn’t have seen if I was at home or doing some part-time job at a café!" with gratification on her face, Ruby expressed what was in her mind and heart.

Honestly, she was being earnest with her words. While the salary wasn’t as high as one would expect, she really learnt a lot. She saw a lot of suffering she had never seen in her life.

Before her sister’s life changed, she thought that their family was suffering and always envied others. But with the charity she had been doing and being on the field running errands and meeting with beneficiaries, she saw how fortunate her family was back then.

They were very rich and fortunate, but that was something she wouldn’t have known and learned if it wasn’t for her being hired and interning at the foundation.

"I won’t be interning that much this year since I have school, but I promised my sister that I will continue to intern and learn as much as I can. And that is where my point is."

"I was wondering if it’s possible to start a program where teenagers in particular, since they are the most rebellious, can intern during the holidays or their free time? At least this way, they can see the world the way I saw it. Their eyes will open and they will be enlightened."

"With them knowing the way of life through others, I think that we can help a lot of people and spread awareness. Some of the problems adults are facing usually start in their teens. So, I was wondering if there is a way we can help teenagers as well!" Ruby sighed with relief as she finished her statement, feeling nervous as she didn’t know what others would think.

Diamond had a smile in her mind as she listened to her little sister, who seemed to be all grown up shortly. She was happy that Ruby saw her time at the foundation in such a positive manner.

It would have been pretty bad if it had been otherwise.

She jotted down the idea Ruby had spoken before responding to her seriously. "I think that everyone has heard what you are saying. Please jot it down and we can address this issue at a later date."

When Ruby heard that, she was relieved. At least, they will talk about it. As for whether the idea would be acted upon, she could only pray.

"Thank you!" Ruby politely said before sitting.

With Ruby being the first and brave one, more people began to share their ideas.

"I think that we should have some workshops where we can teach, especially the mothers who are struggling with life on what they can do with their lives. Instead of feeding them fish every time, donating to them, we might as well teach them something. This way, even when we aren’t there, they can still survive and live their lives."

"The foundation has money. We can also find or buy an orphanage and properly help those orphans without worrying about the management embezzling the donations we give them."

"If we have an orphanage, we can think of opening a school and providing a haven for the kids."

"We can contribute more to society. Some high-density neighborhoods have been in shortage of water recently. Apparently, something is going on and the dams seem to be decreasing pretty fast."

"I heard my grandparents and folks at the village talking about the possibility of a drought and how everyone had started stocking. I think digging wells, or stocking food just in case, is also needed."

.....

The sharing of ideas took half of the day, so when it was around eleven, Diamond dismissed everyone for a break and lunch.

Around noon, everyone converged in the boarding room to resume the second part of the meeting.

Diamond was feeling energetic. After all, she had locked herself in her office a while ago to see what the system had given her.

At the same time, she had also made an appointment with Admire and the man would be coming to the foundation that afternoon.

Back in the boarding room, everyone was seated orderly with notebooks in hand and ready to continue where they stopped before lunch.

"I bet that you have all thought hard about what was discussed in the first half of the meeting. The second half won’t take too much of everyone’s time. You still have a lot to discuss as departments, so let’s make this as short as we can. So, tell me, what do you guys think? Especially the department heads." Diamond directed that to the executives.

After a moment, one of them suddenly raised his hand. Diamond looked at the man and noticed that he was the finance manager, one of the people who had stress working for her. Whenever money was issued out, it was this man who had to suffer all the time.

"Yes, Mr. Timothy!" Diamond gave the man the floor.

"Thank you for the opportunity," Timothy humbly said, as he brought the microphone closer to his body.

"Miss, after hearing the ideas that everyone contributed earlier in the morning, I was wondering if we can have teams that will be in charge of each project once they are finalized. For example, the team in charge of school supplies will deal with that project, while at the same time, those in charge of workshops will be working on their own as well."

"Rather than waiting for one project to be finished, we can do those that we can at the same time. And all we need are people and trustworthy enough to let the projects flow without worry. Of course, if you want them to be done one at a time, I wouldn’t object, but just as you said earlier, we don’t lack money. So, I don’t think that we need to be reserved."

Diamond’s brows raised happily as she listened to Timothy’s suggestion.
