"Well, well, well. Look who we have here!"

"Hehe, it’s nice seeing you again. Why do you look thinner?"

"Blame the kitchen. If I had known that the food would taste that differently, I would have purchased some at the shop."

"Haha, I had an inkling that I might face a disaster, so I spent my bonus and had a blast during the holidays. Even that nasty mother-in-law of mine, hehe, this time, she was busy fawning over me."

"Did that really happen?"

"Of course. I swore as soon as I saw that. I will do my best to buy more as long as I have money."

"How about we drop there?"

"Or we can bring this to lady boss. She might help us save time. Last time I checked, it’s difficult to get anything at the shop."

"I guess we can only wait and see if the boss agrees."

"You ... oh my! Is that a new car I am seeing?"

"What else? Are you blind?"

It was simply noisy, a bit chaotic but in a good way as men and women teased each other as they lingered outside the building while others were already inside but at the reception.

"It’s 7:30. When do you think the lady boss will arrive?"

"Should be soon!"

"She is not someone who comes late, especially on special occasions."

"That’s true."

"I am just curious what clothes she would be wearing?"

"I am more curious about the car."

"Talking about cars, did you check the new car she had last year?"

"I couldn’t find it. What about it?"

"Damn, I saw it and they aren’t many. Electric powered and the service station costs an arm and leg."

"Haha, talking money with our lady boss. Are you dreaming?"

"I was only thinking about my side. It’s not like I can ever reach her level."

"We can’t. Otherwise, I would be living in a mansion somewhere, surrounded by ladies and having a good time."

"But guys, aren’t you curious at all?"

"About what?"

"Why lady boss is interested in venturing into the entertainment industry?"

"She might be bored and just want to spend some money!"

"That’s true, but I like it that way. We get to see the other sides of her we barely see."

"I saw her latest shopping spree. Damn, just how much money does she have?"

"Enough to help others."

As the group of employees talked amongst themselves, though the topic had somehow diverted to their boss, suddenly a few ladies screamed, attracting the attention of those who were inside.

"What’s going on?" several people asked curiously as they hurried outside.

"Oh! She is here!" another person exclaimed but lowly as her eyes were glued to the three fancy cars which most of the staff knew already.

"I didn’t think I would see those two in person today!"

Passing by the building and heading to the outside parking were the three cars, with a familiar PIA leading.

All the foundation staff had already arrived and since it wasn’t time to clock in, none of them had literally gone upstairs.

By going upstairs, they would be forced to separate into departments, so everyone was just lingering on the ground floor, and in that process, managed to see the arrival of the woman who had made it possible.

"I want to be the lady boss’s little sister!"

"Hehehe, unfortunately, it’s impossible!"

The staff, knowing that their boss was now present, no longer acted crazily but waited calmly and patiently for her to arrive.

Several minutes later, they all saw Diamond, who looked pretty in red, swaying her body. Every step she took oozed with confidence. And a few brave female employees who were crazy fans of DIAMOND took photos to share later in the fan group.

Behind Diamond were Ruby and Garnet.

Garnet, being the professional bodyguard aka P.A. she was, didn’t dress fancily like Diamond. But she wore a black suit, tied her hair into a bun, wore silver studs, a white shirt and wedges.

But with her looks, she simply looked more like an assistant rather than a bodyguard.

Ruby was always the carefree one but, on this day, she dressed up prettily. With no work to be done that day, there was no need for her to dress casually.

So, she picked a white peplum dress, and she looked like a saint from head to toe.

When Diamond saw her employees gathering outside, the little devil in her which loved attention couldn’t help but dance in joy, especially when sensing the admiration that they were giving her.

"Happy New Year, everyone!" she cheerfully greeted as soon as she approached the crowd with a smile on her face.

"Happy New Year to you too, lady boss."

"Hello!"

The reception was chaotic, but everyone wore smiles as greetings were returned.

"We are running late. How about we all get inside? We have a meeting at eight after all!" Diamond stated in a teasing manner as she walked through the passage that the employees had opened for her.

"Sure, we are just behind you."

"I guess we won’t be working too much today!"

With Diamond leading the way and speaking to a few department heads in the process, everyone followed suit.

There weren’t a lot of elevators in the building. So, everyone took turns to use the elevator and none of them were eager to use the stairs.

Sweating in such hot weather wasn’t an appealing thing at all.

With the way it was hot, it was already a miracle to not stink at the end of the day, even after showering many times.

When there is an option to make life easy, why go the hard way and make things difficult?

After several trips, everyone was on the tenth floor. The conference room was big enough to accommodate everyone, though it wasn’t everyone who was fortunate enough to sit at the table.

By 8:30, everyone was seated and everything was ready for the first meeting of the year to officially begin.
