Chapter 203: Chapter 201: WATER SEED

[Ding! Do you want to sign in?]

’Sign in!’ Diamond excitedly instructed as she looked forward to what good stuff the system would reward her with.

For the past week, the blessings were quite bountiful and all of them were quite helpful to her.

She didn’t know what criteria the system chooses every time it rewards her, but all she knew was that it always has a reason for doing so.

[Ding! You have been rewarded with a water seed. Check the inventory for more details.]

’What the ....?’ Diamond was startled when she heard that notification.

From just judging the name of the reward, she had a feeling that another future problem of hers was about to be solved.

But was that really the case?

So, to confirm her suspicions, Diamond hurriedly opened her system profile and found the inventory section.

On the virtual screen, she could see a shining blue crystal that looked very appealing to the eye. By just looking at it, Diamond didn’t want to tarnish it by touching it.

So, she clicked on the information tab to see what the seed had to offer and if her guess was the same as what she would find when she was done.

[Water seed – a water crystal formed from multiverse ******* by the exalted water fairy for the lower realm worlds. the seed needs to be planted in a body of water to provide an unending water supply. The seed can be retrieved and replanted.]

’OMG! This is epic!’ she couldn’t help but exclaim joyfully after reading everything.

’With this, I don’t have to worry about water anymore. All I need to do is plant the seed at the lake. Once the drought season is over, I can retrieve it and use it again when it’s needed.’

Diamond revised her plans once more the second she grasped what the water seed was like.

With the water seed rewarded to her, Diamond didn’t claim it but just left it in the inventory just like how she left that bodyguard avatar untouched.

Receiving such a good reward, Diamond happily went to sleep without any worries at all.

The next day was the day that made a lot of people happy. It was the last day of the month and year as well.

The day that would be ushering in the new year, how could everyone not be excited and look forward to it?

On this day, the Perry family was acting very normal without any hyping. Every routine was literally the same, with the women doing some chores and preparing breakfast while Kian and Richard had their men talk like they had been doing these past few days.

Diamond being herself, was in her bedroom with her tablet in hand as she looked at the email that Admire had sent for her.

The security team that would be coming to work for her was seventy people, with six of them coming to Taco to protect her family when she wasn’t there.

This meant that she had to accommodate sixty-four people which wasn’t too many as many apartments were waiting for them already.

When she got the Greenbay apartments, she had set aside four floors for her employees and finally those apartments would be in use.

Each apartment had two bedrooms and Diamond was planning on having two people share a bedroom and that would be four people in each apartment. They would be sharing and those that wouldn’t want that would have to move out and pay their own rent.

With sixty-four people, she would need sixteen apartments, leaving seven more apartments empty since Nancy had already taken one.

Among the sixty-four guards, the majority were men with the women being twelve.

With all numbers even, there would be no conflict, also saving Diamond from using more apartments.

The team of six that would be coming to Taco consisted of four men and two women. She was relieved when she saw that. After all, she didn’t want her mother to be insecure with a lot of men surrounding her.

With some females to accompany her, she wouldn’t be lonely.

After checking everything, Diamond instructed Andrea to send the remuneration for the thirty people who were resigning and informed Admire about what to do and expect when the time came.

Once she was done, Diamond left her bedroom and went to join the family.

Sometime in the afternoon, Diamond, and everyone was having a walk in the neighborhood for some fresh air.

The neighborhood was very quiet with a few people around. As everyone was on vacation and returned to their hometowns, villages and other places, there weren’t a lot of people around.

" .... Ahh I can’t believe that in a few hours it will be 2079!" Ruby exclaimed excitedly as she skipped with her arms behind her back.

"You ... aren’t you afraid of falling, walking like that?" Belinda chided as she looked at her daughter being playful.

Ruby stopped and stuck her tongue at her mother. "I have been doing this for a long time. How can I fall?"

"Hehe, says a girl who fell one day while running a few years ago!" Diamond scoffed as she looked at Ruby.

Ruby turned her head to look at Diamond and harumphed, "Sis!"

Belinda chuckled lightly seeing her daughters being playful like that. It wasn’t something that she got to see every day, so she was quite happy.

"Mom!" suddenly Diamond called out to Belinda while ignoring Ruby who wanted to play more.

Belinda looked at her daughter and wondered what she wanted to tell her again. After knowing about the drought issue, she didn’t want to hear about something else again.

"What is it dear?" she nervously asked.

Diamond smiled lightly sensing her mother’s worries. "Mom, chill. It is not anything bad!" she reassured as she looked at her.

Belinda heaved with relief upon hearing that. "That’s good then."

"Hehe, Big sis, you like scaring mom, don’t you?" Ruby egged as she stuck her tongue at Diamond once again.

Diamond raised her hand and made a hitting motion at the little girl making her seek refuge behind her father.

Seeing Ruby acting like that, they all just laughed, lightening the mood.

"Anyway, mom. What I want to tell you is that on the 2nd, a team of guards will be coming to Taco. They will be in charge of protecting you and running errands for you."

"Oh! Something like that is happening?" Belinda was baffled when she heard that.

"Um. We don’t know what the future holds but it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared just in case!" she confirmed as she looked at her parents.

"Okay, that makes sense. We will accept them but where will they leave?" Belinda asked curiously wondering how to settle the new people.

"Um. I was thinking that letting them stay in the cottage at the back would suffice. This way they will be closer to you and serve you well!" Diamond responded.

Belinda’s eyes light up upon hearing that.

"Okay. This one can work. We have plenty of rooms anyway!" Belinda found no reason to object to that.

"Mom! Also, you need to find a housekeeper. The house is too big for you to keep on cleaning it every day. And with the salon next year, you will be pretty busy!" Diamond suggested, hoping her mother would think about it and stop trying to be a good housewife.

Belinda’s heart warmed at hearing her daughter’s concern. Who would have thought that one day it would be the daughter she expected the least from, to be the one changing their lives like these?

As a parent, she knew her children very well. Diamond was spoiled rotten, something that couldn’t be stopped even if they wanted to. While Ruby wasn’t as spoiled as Diamond.

Diamond wasn’t as clever as Ruby, so it was visible from the start that their achievements would be different.

In their eyes, as long as Diamond could sustain her life and live comfortably even without taking care of them, they would be satisfied.

But who would have guessed that she would be the person she is today?

Among their relatives, the few that they have, Diamond has achieved more than anyone else.

"Don’t worry. I will listen to you!" Belinda said as she accepted her daughter’s suggestion.

She didn’t want her daughters to worry when they were away. It was good to have peace of mind. Only then would they be able to achieve more than they already have?

Seeing that her mother had agreed, Diamond was very happy. She didn’t bother to ask her father, as he was a hen-pecked husband.

As long as their mother says yes, he won’t say no. that’s how it worked in the Perry family.

After settling the issue with her parents, Diamond began to pay more attention to her lover. She had neglected him for a bit and didn’t want to make him feel as if he didn’t matter.

It was such a good day, after all.
