Chapter 198: Chapter 196: DIAMOND’S LIFE LESSONS 3

Ruby, hearing how serious her sister was and the situation itself, hurriedly showed that she understood every single word.

She was no fool. Why should she go around showing off what wasn’t hers?

Besides, there was a saying that what goes around comes around. She didn’t want to be on the receiving end of misfortunes one day.

Diamond was satisfied with Ruby’s quick response, therefore, she continued with her life lessons.

"The most important lesson for the day will be personal management. Like I said before, you are an adult and, as one, you need to take care of yourself properly."

"I won’t always be there to do everything for you and you know me. I am a bit too lazy to do anything. I want you to grow up as a capable woman who can take care of herself in any kind of situation that may arise."

"And this is something that can be learnt from a young age. And it all starts with knowing how to take care of yourself and manage yourself."

"By personal management, I mean all aspects of your life. Economic, social, religious, mental and physical."

"Whichever deity you want to worship, you can do it as long as you are cool with it. But my advice is, you better not bring any harbingers of death into the family. If you don’t believe in any deity, then become an atheist and just believe in yourself. It also works."

"You need to always remember that your body is yours. If you take good care of it, you will live long, but if you don’t, then you can only say goodbye to it. So, always bear that in mind."

"People get depressed because they think too much sometimes. Whether it’s caused by ourselves or others. So, no matter what you do, always make sure that you are mentally stable. If something stresses you, find someone to talk to and get rid of whatever demons there will be in your mind before they consume you."

"The social aspect of life, I have already talked about it a lot so I won’t repeat it which brings me to the most important part I want to talk about, the financial aspect of your life." As she talked about that, a playful smile blossomed on Diamond’s face.

Ruby, seeing that, couldn’t help but shudder as she wondered what her sister was up to now.

Her sister was generous and gave her an allowance of fifty thousand dollars every month. And so far, she had saved quite a bit since Diamond was very generous with money.

Diamond was quite excited about this part, honestly.

She might have been dishonest and over herself when she was young, but after getting dumped that year, she finally knew how important managing her life was.

She didn’t want Ruby to be relaxed just because of the allowance that she gave her.

"I might have been slow-witted, but I knew how to take care of my finances at least after that incident happened. In life, one should know and understand a bit of bookkeeping."

"Every single day you as an individual need to eat, use your phone, and internet, fuel your car and have a place to rest at night. All of these require money and if you aren’t good at taking care of yourself or managing your finances, then all that awaits you is doom."

"I have a studio apartment already waiting for you. You won’t be staying at the villa as it is far while the apartment is much closer to school." for the first time in a very long time, Diamond revealed another secret she had been hiding from Ruby.

Ruby was taken by surprise when she heard that. Just on Christmas day, she had been talking to her friends about the accommodation issue, but never in a million years had she ever thought that Diamond had already sorted all issues out.

"Sis, you .... I ..."

"When you are free, you can come to the villa. I don’t want to take much of your time with commuting a lot. Put all your effort into your studies, but this isn’t the issue here!" she shook her head lightly.

"However, it won’t all be about studying when you are staying there, but you also need to learn to manage your finances."

"I will provide the house and furniture for you, but that will be all!" a sly smile blossomed on her face as Diamond said that.

"Sis, you_"

"You will be responsible for your groceries; utilities, bills and transport. I will deal with everything related to your tuition and school but personal life. You need to start taking control of it."

Listening up to this point, Ruby had a slight idea of what her sister was up to.

"You need to learn how to prepare your monthly budget with the money that you already have and make sure that everything will be managed there."

"If there are any leftovers, you need to make use of the money and make sure that you do something worthy with it and not just splurge because it’s there."

"Like I said, I want you to become an able woman who won’t be relying on others or men in the future. Whilst you are young like this, you can start preparing a foundation for your future. By the time you are done with your studies, you will be somewhere. Do you try to get what I am trying to tell you here?" in a soft manner, Diamond asked her baby sister, hoping that everything she just said didn’t enter and leave her ears just like that.

Ruby nodded her head seriously as she felt her heart pumping excitedly.

Who would have guessed that she would be given independence before she could even ask for it?

Who didn’t dream of going solo and having freedom? This idea, she really loved so much.

"I understand, sis. I can do it!" she said seriously as she pumped her fists excitedly.

Diamond didn’t care about the real reason why her little sister was so happy. As long as she understood her intentions, that’s all that mattered to her.

"Perfect then!" Diamond grinned happily, confirming that.

Seeing that her sister was satisfied, Ruby also brightened.

"Sister, talking about leftovers, do you mind helping me with the money?" she fiddled with her fingers while looking at Diamond.

"Oh!" Diamond exclaimed surprisingly upon hearing that.

Honestly, she wasn’t expecting Ruby to ask her about that, especially that fast. Was that how different average people were compared to geniuses?

"What do you want me to do with it?" she amusedly asked as she observed Ruby’s reaction.

Ruby was anticipating that, so she wasn’t as nervous as she was before. So, she honestly answered, "Sis. You dabble in stock trading and investments. Can you do the same for my money?"

Diamond smiled unrestrainedly as she listened to Ruby’s explanation.

Seeing how farsighted she was, how could she not be happy?

"You are a good one!" Diamond generously praised, making Ruby blush a little.

"Sis, you ..."

"If that’s what you want, then I will do it for you. However, you will be my client and everything will be done by the books!"

Diamond saw no reason to reject Ruby.

However, she wouldn’t be opening any back door for her.

Ruby looked at her sister happily, as that small oval face beamed with light.

"I don’t care. As long as it works."

"That’s good then."

Diamond and Ruby began to discuss the issue of investing while Diamond revealed the fact that she owned a trading company to Ruby as well.

With the last topic being about managing finances, Diamond’s session on life advice finally came to an end.

And by the time the two sisters were done, it was around one in the morning.

Diamond bid farewell to Ruby before going to her room, leaving Ruby with so much to digest.

After reaching her room, Andrea, who had been silent for a while during the day, sounded.

{Mom! You have an important email waiting for you!}

"Oh! It’s from who?" she asked as she stripped off her clothes, reading herself for a shower.

{It’s from Admire.}

When she heard that, her eyes lit up with interest.

"Perfect! What did he say?" she asked curiously.

{The team had made up their minds, and a third were willing to resign. They don’t want to move places.}

"Oh! That’s unfortunate!" she said dejectedly.

She was expecting a few to refuse but never thought that the number would be that huge.

{We can still find more people if they are few!} Andrea comfortingly said.

Diamond smiled upon hearing that.

"It’s fine. We will deal with those that are available. We can also see which one we can use earnestly in the future," Diamond said after calming down and sorting her thoughts out.

{That’s true.}

"Reply to him and tell him that I will call him tomorrow at eight in the morning and discuss the way forward."

{I will certainly do so.}
