The lovebirds purchased movie tickets for a famous horror classic that was on the schedule that afternoon.

Instead of watching others being affectionate throughout the movie, she would rather watch something invigorating.

With horror movies, one doesn’t know what was what exactly. The directors seemed to know how to scare the heck out of viewers, and she wanted that thrill.

Besides, she felt that she was lucky to have come across the movie. Due to her cowardly nature and being too overprotective, Diamond avoided scary things. Why did she have to sacrifice her weak heart to watch a scary movie?

Even if she wanted to be closer to a guy, why did she have to sacrifice her life and bring horror into her life?

Even going to haunted houses. Who knew whether there were real or fake ghosts there?

So back then, she rather watched comedies, romantic or action movies.

But now she couldn’t help but be curious. With the great changes that had happened to her, would it still be possible to fear something that fake?

She wanted to test herself out.

However, she didn’t forget to buy the largest bucket of popcorn and two large-sized cola cups before walking towards the cinema.

The two lovebirds weren’t alone. Others were courageous enough to try the movie. However, the place wasn’t fully packed. Only half of the seats were occupied.

Diamond and Kian picked seats at the back with fewer people. So, the two were able to remove their masks as they didn’t have anything to worry about.

"Will you be scared when watching?" Kian couldn’t help but ask Diamond, seeing how she was stuffing her mouth with popcorn as if she only came to eat and not watch a movie.

She shrugged her shoulders when she heard that.

"I am not sure but I will find out!" instead of pretending and becoming some green tea b***, Diamond just blurted the truth.

Kian looked helplessly at Diamond, wondering what was wrong with her.

Weren’t girls supposed to say they would be scared or at least show some signs of being scared?

However, looking at Diamond, whose eyes were sparkling whether due to the popcorn or the movie that would start airing in a few seconds, he didn’t know what to say anymore.

In the end, he sat obediently and decided to watch the movie and see what was special about it that made Diamond skip the other movies that were being shown that afternoon.

It didn’t take before the movie started, but Diamond didn’t stop stuffing her mouth.

The movie that they were watching was a horror movie that came out four decades ago when she wasn’t even born. The picture quality was enough to show that the movie was indeed a classic. However, that wasn’t something that Diamond wasn’t concerned about.

The movie was called I SEE YOU.

According to the plot, as she summarized it in her head as she continued to watch the distorted faces on the screen, I SEE YOU was about a group of friends who went on summer vacation.

There were seven of them and all decided to stay at their friend’s vacation villa that wasn’t used, mostly.

These friends were very rich, so they grew up lacking nothing. As the vacation they were allowed by their parents was just for a week, the seven of them decided to have the time of their lives.

And with all of them over eighteen, the friends prepared a lot of booze. They were going to go all out.

After settling at the villa, the friends allocated themselves to separate rooms for privacy and began to happily stay at the mansion.

There were no adults or a butler to monitor them. They had the villa to themselves and these kids partied every day and had a lot of fun.

Two days quickly passed and everything seemed very normal. That was until someone found a chest in one of the basements. Curious about what was inside, the group of friends opened it mischievously and revealed what was inside.

There was a strange old book, a spirit board and a strange-looking wand.

Curious and feeling playful, the friends who feared nothing began to play with those three.

Using the spirit board, the seven mockingly called upon the spirits of their victims, who were simply cowards and afraid of fighting for themselves.

And with nothing happening, even after mocking the spirits for being cowards, the seven were even sure that everything was just superstition.

But little did they know that the summons worked. It’s just that horror and terror were just waiting for them in the following days to come.

Diamond watched as on the third day; the first haunting started. Whenever someone was by himself or herself, something strange would happen and they would, as always, scold and mock whoever was playing tricks for being cowardly and afraid of showing up.

On the fourth day, the gang went surfing at a closed beach, having so much fun as they were all professionals. But who would have guessed that by the time they were inside the house, one of them was no longer there?

At first, they didn’t find it suspicious. After all, with how big the place was, their friend would be at a certain corner being mischievous as always.

However, when dusk came and there was no sign of the friend, they became very worried and began to search all over. In order to cover a big area, they all scattered around.

One of them wandered around and found herself in the washing area. Looking around, she couldn’t help but enter to check if her friend was there. If she would catch him bathing, that would be a bonus.

After all, she had a secret crush on him and was dying to take a glimpse of his body. But who would have known that once she was inside, what awaited her was something she had never seen before?

Seeing the faceless and skinless body standing beneath the shower, she screamed her lungs out loud but found no strength to move.

Diamond, at that time honestly, was looking forward to how the little girl would end and see if she would be scared, but who would have guessed that they blurred that part, forcing her to anticipate who the next victim was?

So, for the next five victims in the following two days, apart from searching for their friends who kept on going missing while those that were missing before returned, the process of what those faceless demons were doing wasn’t shown.

Fortunately, that part took thirty minutes. Within the next thirty minutes, Diamond had already emptied her bucket, so all she could do was watch the movie properly, and see if the two remaining friends who hadn’t fallen victim like the other friends whom she believed were no longer human anymore as she saw them succumbing to that demon, could survive.

Unfortunately, a horror movie wasn’t one for no reason.

The five friends who had obviously fallen victim to the faceless demon in the past few days no longer hid their real selves.

For the next thirty minutes, Diamond watched as the two remaining friends kept running for their lives while fighting and defending against the friends that they used to stand with before.

The faceless demons left blood everywhere, and the way they crawled, ran and just messed everywhere, made those who were watching scream all the time.

Unfortunately, seeing all that, Diamond didn’t feel scared yet. In the end, she decided to watch till the end and see what reason these friends were suffering.

Unlike other movies where one person would survive, the friends fell victim to the demons who were once their friends. All of them died horribly, and the process by which they were killed and turned into those scry demons was simply too disgusting for her.

With all of them dead and gone, the movie simply came to an end. Seeing that, Diamond was baffled. What had just happened?

Was that even possible to end a movie with such a confusing end?

She didn’t even know why they were attacked in the first place. Did they really succeed in summoning some angry wraiths or evil spirits during their game the other night?

Seeing people standing up as the credits were being shown, Diamond didn’t have any strength to go anywhere.

Kian could only sit beside her, holding her hand in a comforting manner. He could tell that rather than being scared, she was pissed off.

However, as some say, patience is a virtue. As the couple remained seated while waiting for other people to leave so that they could leave without pressure, the credits suddenly vanished and a scene began playing.

Seeing that, Diamond was so excited that her eyes became glued to the screen once again.

And what she saw in the next five minutes made her hair stand up with fear.

It was only after watching that part that she finally understood why people kept on talking about the movie.

As she left with Kian at the mall, she couldn’t help but sigh dejectedly.
