Chapter 188: Chapter 186: QUARTER-TRUTH

When it comes to spinning tales, Diamond could be said to be partially a pro. After all, wouldn’t they have known about how promiscuous she was at school if she hadn’t lied a little back then?

So, when the questions started pouring in, Diamond compiled all of them. That way she would just answer them in one go.

It would be much more interesting that way.

So, after being bombarded with questions for thirty minutes, it was finally time for her to answer.

"I will do my best to answer every question you have asked," Diamond smilingly said as she looked at the three most important people in her life.

"Um. Take your time!" Belinda said smilingly.

She didn’t want to overwhelm her baby a lot. There was still a lot of time and they could take it slow.

Diamond nodded her head appreciatingly at her mother before she began.

"As you all know, I wasn’t like this nine months ago. In fact, life was starting to get imposing, and it was hard for me. However, because of you three, I didn’t give up. I didn’t dare to do so. No matter how hard life was, I didn’t want to become a coward. It’s not like I am the only one struggling. So why should I cower first?"

"So, I preserved and my patience finally worked. One day, before I got fired from my job, I went for a trip. And it was that trip that changed my life," Diamond said with a smile as she recalled how magical that moment was for her.

However, she was unable to tell them the truth, so she spiced things a bit.

"As I climbed the mountain, I happened to come across a strange stone hidden within the bushes. If it wasn’t for the anxious rabbit I came across, I wouldn’t have seen that stone."

"When I saw it, I felt drawn to it so much that I brought it home!" she couldn’t help but feel nostalgia as if what she was saying was true.

When Ruby started listening to her sister and seeing how invested she was, Ruby felt excited.

’Wasn’t this how protagonists in the novels I had read found their golden fingers?’ her eyes couldn’t help but light up as she thought of that.

"The stone bothered me a lot, so I crushed it. And to my greatest surprise, I found a strange ring inside," Diamond lied with a straight face as her gaze shifted to the thumb ring that barely left her hand.

When the family saw what she was looking at, they all couldn’t help but look at the ring closely.

’That’s true. Sister had been wearing that strange ring almost every day. Could it be the legendary storage ring? Otherwise, how did she get those bottles of water?’

Ruby was quite clever, so she was able to connect some dots by herself without listening to the whole statement.

"I was curious at that time. Why would someone hide a ring inside a stone? And how was it even possible to hide a ring inside? I questioned myself several times. As a person who loves reading novels, I had a faint guess and decided to check on it. So_" Before she could finish, Ruby was faster than her.

"So, you dripped your blood on it!"

Diamond smiled beautifully at Ruby. It was nice having someone clever who could help her fabricate her quarter truth.

"Indeed. Just like in the novels, I dripped my blood on the ring and the next thing I knew, I had blacked out!" in an exaggerated manner, Diamond vividly explained what transpired back then.

"The next morning, I found the ring on my finger. And recalling what happened before, I decided to check the ring. And that’s how my life changed."

"I found a strange USB inside the ring and it was thanks to the information inside there, that I could be where I am today," she said shamelessly as she spread her hands.

"There were several other things inside there and some of them I had been giving them to you slowly since I didn’t want you to worry or suspect anything. But I guess those secrets can’t be kept forever as today was the day I had to get exposed," she softly sighed as she looked at her family.

Richard didn’t know what to think or do with what he had just heard.

Belinda on the other hand was doing her best to digest her daughter’s words and something in her suffocated her.

Ruby, however, was the most excited one. Unlike her parents who didn’t know much about novel tropes, she knew them like the back of her hands.

To think that her sister was like a protagonist of a novel and got herself something that good, how could she not be excited?

So, she began to bombard Diamond with questions before her parents found their footing.

"Sister, is it where you got the RV you drove us in today?"

"Yes, the ring has a lot of things but I am afraid that unless it’s urgent and serious, I can’t take them out!" Diamond sadly said.

As someone who didn’t want to be bothered by Ruby or her parents to show them what she had when she was fully aware of how she had just lied to them, saying it like that was for the best.

Indeed, after hearing that Ruby sulked for a bit before her mood improved.

"It doesn’t matter. Now a lot of things can be explained. I am glad that you came across it, sister and that nothing happened to you when you were mountain climbing!"

Hearing her little sister’s words, Diamond looked at the other affectionately.

’I didn’t dote on you for nothing.’

"Darling, is that where .... Is that how you earned the money that you have been using?" Belinda after a while finally asked what had been bothering her for a while now.

Finally hearing that question, Diamond beamed at her parents before she started answering.

"You can say it like that. Through the strange USB, I managed to find an A.I. and it was because of that, I was able to earn money that quickly," Diamond began to tell her family about Andrea.

Everyone listened with awe for a while. When it comes to Andrea, Diamond just couldn’t stop. Andrea was her son, so she couldn’t wait to brag about him to her family.

When Belinda and Richard heard about the A.I. they both looked at each other wondering what their daughter was talking about.

But the more she explained in detail, the more they started understanding what she was saying and honestly, the two were shaken.

"Darling, you ..... you really have something like that?" Belinda asked shakily as she looked at her daughter for confirmation.

Diamond smiled upon hearing that. Honestly, unless people saw it with their own eyes, they would believe anything she had just said. And that was understandable from her point of view.

"Sister, was it the A.I. that had been driving the bus?" Ruby couldn’t help but ask as she felt that her suspicions were being finally answered.

"Bingo! That’s correct. That was Andrea’s doing. Andrea is the name I gave to the A.I. He is like ...."

Another round of showing off began once again. Ruby could only shake her head as she looked at the baffled expressions of her parents.

’It seemed sister really loved Andrea so much. I would also do if I had him!’ who wouldn’t want such an advanced AI?

"Do you mind showing us?" After listening for a very long time, even Richard was itching to see what this A.I. was like.

When Diamond heard that, she looked at her father with a bright smile on her face.

She had been waiting anxiously for someone to suggest this.

After hiding Andrea for goodness how long, how could she not be happy to share such good news with another?

So, without hesitation and under the eyes of her family, she called out proudly.

"Son, are you still going to hide and not show yourself to your grandparents and aunt?"

As she was the mother, wouldn’t that make her parents Andrea’s grandparents and Ruby, his aunt?

"Sister, you ...." Ruby was speechless upon hearing her sister’s words.

’Who the heck is she calling?’ even Belinda was taken aback by her daughter’s choice of calling.

[Mother, please don’t tease me like that!] Andrea complained sulkily as he sounded throughout the room.

"Ah! What the heck was that?" Ruby shrieked as she looked around searching for where the sound was coming from.

However, when she looked at her sister, she couldn’t help but follow where she was looking at.

On the huge screen TV that had been switched off the whole day, a majestic gold, white and black striped cat was on the screen.

"Sister, that .... Is that Andrea?" Ruby stuttered as she asked while glancing at the TV and at Diamond whose expression didn’t seem right.

How could Diamond look fine?

When did Andrea change his emoticon again?

And since when did he start sulking so openly like that?

Diamond couldn’t help but be shocked.
