Chapter 176: Chapter 174

Days quickly passed and soon it was the day that got everyone resting and others gnashing their teeth as it resembled the year nearly coming to an end.

It was finally Christmas and people were busy. Streets were decorated with colorful lights and in most houses, especially of those that could afford them, pine trees stood tall as they were decorated, showing the festive mood.

Inside Diamond’s house, the colorful lights were blinking everywhere, making them look like traffic lights. Fortunately, the decorations were only done in the living room and outside the house.

Some of the major rooms didn’t suffer and ended up with the lights or the decorations. Diamond had sternly refused when Ruby suggested getting those irritating lights in her room.

How was she supposed to sleep peacefully with all of them blinking every second? She would rather celebrate the holiday than torture herself to that extent.

There was even a tree in the living room, and Ruby went to great lengths to decorate it.

It looked so beautiful that even a biased Diamond couldn’t help but praise it and took several photos of it.

She even posed at the tree and got herself several good photos to post later.

On Christmas day, everyone woke up early, though Diamond was up earlier than the rest.

The family of four weren’t planning on going out, but just celebrating the day in the house. It was the first Christmas they were celebrating together in four years, so they all wanted to enjoy this moment.

No one knows what the future holds, so every single second counts.

On this wonderful day, the lazy Diamond who had barely done her laundry, cooked or washed dishes was the one who was in the kitchen.

Even her parents were quite shocked to see her there. In fact, she banned everyone from getting to the kitchen.

When her mother and father came downstairs, they found Diamond, who was done with her morning exercises and shower, already in the kitchen wearing an apron and sorting out ingredients.

She had declared to them at that time that she would be cooking and no one was allowed to disturb her until she was done.

In other words, ever since Diamond took over the kitchen one hour ago, the three Perry family members had no single clue as to what she was doing.

In fact, they were dying with worry that they couldn’t even concentrate on anything.

Ruby was no different from her parents. After all, apart from the time her sister cooked for them when she returned to Taco after three years, she had never cooked again.

In fact, she had not seen Diamond cooking at all, so it was not one hundred percent absolute that she was the one that cooked.

After living with Diamond during the whole holiday, it has been Aunt Janet cooking for them. When they weren’t eating at home, Diamond would buy food. She had never cooked before. So, was she going to be okay?

"Let’s just wait patiently and see!" that’s all Richard could say as he looked anxiously towards the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen, Diamond was having a blast.

On the 24th, the day before. When she signed in, Diamond never expected to receive such an inconvenient lifestyle skill that would help her in whatever situation she was in, or at least wherever she was.

She signed in and received advanced cooking skills. She had never prided herself on being a good cook. She cooked palatable food and with the delicious ingredients; it was guaranteed that the food would come out wonderfully.

Nevertheless, she knew herself pretty well and cooking wasn’t really her forte. But when the system gave her the skills, she wanted to prepare a banquet for them and let them have a taste of what the daughter they had spoiled could actually do.

She knew all the sacrifices her family made for her from day one. How she was blessed to have such an understanding, a brilliant young sister who had never hated her for being their parents’ favorite when she wasn’t anywhere on par with her.

If she was Ruby, she didn’t know what she would have done to herself. Jealousy and envy were some things that could be achieved easily. Anything can make people envious and what they might do after that would be disastrous.

So, she was glad that Ruby was a good little sister who didn’t let the favoritism get to her head and hate her to death.

To repay everyone and show her gratitude for everything, she had been doing her best to provide them with everything. Spending time with them was included too. After all, she hadn’t been spending as much time as she wanted with her family.

So, whenever she found time to make up for it, she didn’t hesitate. And now that her cooking skills had been advanced, she decided to spoil them and let them witness what a great cook she was.

And thinking of that, an idea suddenly came to her mind.

So, an hour into cooking, and sensing how anxious those three were, Diamond logged into her Ioniq account, which had doubled once again in terms of followers. At the rate she was going, it wouldn’t take three days before she had a million followers.

She knew best that the number was an illusion, though. Just because they followed her didn’t mean that they were her fans. Besides, how could they easily be converted into fans when they haven’t seen her doing anything apart from the photos she had sent?

She had seen several internet celebrities, and they earned fans and followers by interacting with others.

She was planning on doing something like that today. It was boring to be by herself in the kitchen. So, she might as well do a live broadcast as she cooked.

That way, even her parents and little sister could be reassured.

However, before doing that, she needed to find the streaming equipment which she didn’t have. So, some substitutes would be needed, and she stored her things in the storage ring, which she wasn’t wearing at the moment.

So, she checked the pot that was currently boiling before she rushed out of the kitchen.

When her parents saw her climbing the stairs in a hurry, they didn’t chase after her but hurriedly went to the kitchen to check what disasters Diamond had caused.

But when they saw what was in the kitchen, the couple teared up without saying anything. Ruby had to take them back to the living room and fell into contemplation.

Upstairs in her room, Diamond was searching for at least a selfie stick. She remembered buying something like that at some point but was no longer sure where she had kept it.

At that moment, the system that hadn’t shown up for the day appeared on time.

[Ding! Do you want to sign in?]

’Please, give me something good. Streaming equipment set at best!’ she pleaded before she answered, ’Sign in!’

That couldn’t be helped. Diamond, after interacting with the system occasionally she had managed, knew that the system wasn’t as dead as it made itself appear.

Whenever she was in a tricky situation; the system would reward her with items that she really needed. That could be seen when the system rewarded her with the soil fertilizer back then.

It even gave her the weaponized fan, cultivation arts and, lastly, the Golden space that solved her drought problems.

Even if the rain refused to fall for years, she didn’t need to worry about grains, vegetables, fruits or herbs anymore. The space would take care of it. She just needed to be diligent and hard-working to store as many grains and vegetables as she could, to cater to the needs.

And now she was praying so hard for the all-knowing system to give her the streaming equipment.

She could have used Andrea, but that would expose Andrea. She didn’t want to do that at all. Although she believed that the system and Andrea were omnipotent, she shouldn’t underestimate human beings.

They were capable of anything, and it wouldn’t be surprising if someone managed to deduce what was happening to her. She didn’t want to expose what she shouldn’t when she didn’t have anything to protect her from all the trouble.

[Ding! You have been rewarded with streaming equipment. A phone, a smart drone, a tripod for the phone and a remote control for the drone.]

’Oh, my god! System, did you just hear me? I love you so freaking much!’ Diamond was so happy that she couldn’t stop praising the system as she hurriedly went to check her inventory.

[After saying all that, wouldn’t I be heartless if I gave you something else?] The system didn’t forget to answer Diamond sarcastically.

’No matter what, I love you and thank you!’ she ignored the system’s sarcasm and conveyed what she wanted to say.

"Now I can start my first ever live stream!" she said, smiling as she took the equipment that the system had rewarded her with.
