Chapter 174: Chapter 172

Taco Town

It was a Friday and a day that a lot of people were looking forward to. And that was more the case, especially on Diamond’s Ioniq page.

Lying on her bed, as she kicked her legs playfully, Diamond busied herself as she checked her page. It was simply crazy how a joke of hers had ended up in such a way.

Who would have thought that the target she made as a way to check how her followers would react would result in such an end?

"Andrea, isn’t your mother awesome?" Diamond asked excitedly as she looked at the 325,000-follower count, which was increasing continuously.

[You are amazing! Are you just seeing that now?]

"Andrea, you ..... you can talk!" Diamond was speechless after hearing Andrea’s response.

It was indeed a good thing that Andrea didn’t have a body otherwise, the two of them would always be fighting.

[So, now that the figure had tripled. What are you planning to do?]

Andrea, despite being an A.I., had always been dedicated to monitoring Diamond’s social or online life.

As long as there was no harm in what other people were doing, he wouldn’t take action. But for those people who wanted to blacken her and dig up information about her, Andrea always blocked them and made sure that they wouldn’t get anything.

And since there were many of them, he already stopped reporting these people to Diamond. As long as there was no physical harm to Diamond, he would maintain it that way.

"Let’s do a ruffle and for the people that win, I will send them some money," she responded coolly as she typed a post on her wall.

Shortly after, a post was uploaded, and instantly comments appeared below it.

[DIAMOND: Thank you everyone for your following. Like I said that day, when the following count reaches 100k, I would pick three people to send some Christmas gifts. But now that you have tripled, I will pick ten people. The reward will be a cash reward, and I hope that those who are lucky will find some use for the cash reward. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance. Comment your name in the comment section. The ruffle will start in an hour and the results will be announced in another hour. So good luck everyone.]

Diamond watched as comments tricked in and most of them were comments with names posted. It was quite entertaining, and some of them were even writing long paragraphs that made Diamond tear up.

Unfortunately, she couldn’t read everything that they sent as she received a phone call she had been waiting for, for a while now.

"Hello."

[Hello, Ms. Perry. Is it convenient to meet you today?]

"Oh! Is what I asked for done already?" she asked curiously as she sat up on the bed.

[Yes, and we would like to meet face-to-face to finalize everything.]

"Okay. I am free. I will be there in like ninety minutes," she said as she crawled from the bed.

[Thank you. I will see you then.]

After that, the call ended and Diamond started getting ready.

Since she was at home, she had been dressed casually, but now, with a meeting to attend to, she had to change.

She picked a white full circle, a pink short-sleeved blouse and a pair of blocked heels.

She wore studs as the only jewelry on her body and picked the new saddle handbag she purchased the day when she and her family went shopping a few days ago.

Done with changing, she took everything out and headed downstairs. When she reached downstairs, there wasn’t anyone.

Her parents were out and meeting with their friends, while Ruby was busy reconciling with a few high school friends of hers. And that left Diamond, who no longer had any friends in Taco, to stay at home.

And since it wasn’t that boring to stay at home as there were a lot of things that she could do, she didn’t mind staying there.

But now, she had somewhere else to go. She couldn’t wait to see what was in store for her.

Diamond took the remaining car in the garage, which was an addition she added to the family garage. There were just two cars at home, and her parents were using one while Ruby was using the other.

Diamond didn’t want to use any cabs, so she purchased a car. That way, whenever she was in Taco, she wouldn’t need to wait for her parents to use a car.

Diamond drove the Plaxedis seven-seater SUV out as she headed for the meeting point.

On her way, she didn’t forget to let Andrea keep her posted on what was happening on her social media account.

After the one hour she had promised to give to the followers, Diamond had Andrea close off the comment section and announced that the ruffle would be starting and that in an hour, the ten winners would be announced.

After that, there was no news from Diamond.

She soon arrived at the place where she was meeting with the person who had called her earlier.

Diamond elegantly exited the car like a rich missus, and she soon was the center of attraction as her heels tapped the ground and she sashayed her body towards a familiar building she had visited just the previous day.

When Diamond entered the two-floor building, she wasn’t surprised when she found that person waiting for her.

"Ms. Perry, welcome!" the middle-aged man with a slightly protruding belly welcomed her warmly with an enthusiastic smile on his face.

Upon seeing the man, Diamond smiled softly as she was also happy to see the man.

After finding all the companies that were related to what she wanted to do, Andrea referred her to that man’s company. Despite his company being small, he was honest and knew how to do his job well.

And seeing how he was able to finish the first part of the job in just under a day, Diamond was even happier to see him.

"Thank you. It’s my pleasure to be here once again."

"Please, come this way!" the man said as he motioned for Diamond to follow him.

"Sure. After you."

Diamond found herself moments later following the man who went by the name Peter into the office.

After entering the office, she sat down across from Peter before a well-dressed female secretary came in with a tray of beverages and snacks.

When the secretary left, the two finally started talking business.

"After looking at the two buildings you have shown us, I have come up with a quotation that I think would suit you. Please take a look!" Peter respectfully said as he pushed a file towards her.

Diamond accepted the file and opened it. Inside the file, there were several documents with figures written on them. Diamond was used to seeing these kinds of documents and also could read and understand them.

These were the quotations of the two buildings that the system rewarded her with the day when she went shopping with her family.

When she went to check the buildings, she was quite surprised when she found out that the other building was a two-story that was once a saloon.

The previous owner operated the building as a saloon, so she just left it as it was.

Diamond, upon seeing it, didn’t want to change the building’s use. Instead, she wanted the building to remain as a saloon. Her mother was a hairdresser before she forced her to retire.

She could operate the saloon as a lady boss and have other people work for her.

The other building was a garage. It was quite huge and even had a car wash area and a lot of parking space.

This building, Diamond thought, of leaving this to her father. She couldn’t favor her mother alone. At least her dad should find something to do.

Although her father used to work in a factory, if she remembered correctly, he once worked as a mechanic before. So, he could manage the garage very well. Even if he couldn’t, he could just hire other people to do the job for him as well.

So, upon receiving these two buildings, Diamond hired Peter for the renovations, and it was the quotations of the renovations that Peter had just finished.

Diamond looked closely at the quotation for a while without saying anything. She was quite surprised to see how cheap and affordable Peter’s services were compared to Lisa’s company.

Since she could save some money, Diamond accepted the quote and signed a contract with Peter.

She paid the deposit for the job before she left.

She didn’t leave the parking lot but logged into her DIAMOND Ioniq account and laughed when she saw the drama that was happening online.

"Andrea, is it time yet?" she asked as she read the comments.

[It’s almost. Should we pick the ten winners?]

"Yes. Just find the ones that were most active from day one. We should at least reward the loyal ones," Diamond said.
