Chapter 153: Chapter 151

Frin City

Cherry Court

"..... oh, ohhh, winter bear ..."

Diamond hummed to a song playing on her iPod as she lay on the chaise lounge chair on her bedroom’s balcony.

It was a Sunday, and the girls weren’t at home. They left after having breakfast and Diamond remained at home.

Aunt Janet was somewhere downstairs doing her chores, and Diamond, wanting some peace to herself, was resting in her room.

[Ding! Do you want to sign in?]

’Sign in!’ Diamond responded after halting from the humming.

[Ding! You have been rewarded with an alchemy heart.]

’System? What’s an alchemy heart?’

[It is a special core that after absorbing its energy, you would be able to become an alchemist.]

’So, you are telling me that as long as I take it, I can concoct pills and make potions like what I have read in novels?’

[You can consider it like that.]

’You have been nice lately. Do you know that?’

Diamond asked teasingly, waiting for an answer, but the system vanished again without responding.

’Did I tease it too much?’ she regretted it so much.

It wasn’t every day that the system was in a mood to talk to her more and yet instead of taking advantage of that, she just had to chase it away.

’Let’s do it next time!’

Anyway, she had received such a wonderful thing and she shouldn’t let it to waste. With no one disturbing her, Diamond decided to meditate and cultivate. Maybe by the end of the day, she would be an alchemist.

How wonderful that would be!

Upon deciding that, Diamond sat up and took out the alchemy heart, which was in the form of a rainbow stone. It looked so pretty that she didn’t want to use it at all.

But when she thought of how important the heart was to her and how many great changes, it would bring as long as she successfully became an alchemist, she knew what she needed to do.

However, before she could close her eyes and begin cultivating, her phone started ringing.

Diamond peeped at the caller ID, and a smile blossomed on her face.

She hurriedly answered the call with vigor.

"Mother, are you home?" she excitedly asked.

[Um, we have just arrived. How are you?]

"Okay, mom and dad?"

[He is doing well. He just needs some rest.]

"That’s good then."

[I just called to tell you that if your partners have time, tell them to come for a visit. We need to meet them even if the future is uncertain.]

When Diamond heard that, she couldn’t believe it at all.

"Mom, you not kidding?"

[Have I ever joked with something like that?]

"You really want to see them?"

[Um, any time. As long as they are free, just let them come.]

Diamond sighed deeply as she finally accepted that her mother wasn’t playing with her.

"Okay, I will tell them and ask for their opinions."

[Okay, don’t forget. I will go and start cleaning the house. Let’s talk later!]

"Okay, mom. I will inform you of the results."

[Sure. I will be waiting!]

After that, her mother hung up, and Diamond looked at her phone helplessly.

’Just what is mother thinking, really?’

Nevertheless, despite her wonder, she still had to pass the message to the brothers.

Since she was about to get busy; Diamond sent a message to the group before putting her phone on flight mode.

She didn’t want to be bombarded by calls when she had something very important to do.

After stirring trouble and disappearing, Diamond climbed off the chair and went inside the bedroom, where she closed the windows first.

After doing so, she found a futon to sit on cross-legged, held the alchemy heart in her hands, and closed her eyes.

With the replenishing divine skill circulating every second in her body, Diamond didn’t have to worry about which method to use when absorbing the heart’s energy, as the skill automatically began to do the job for her.

It’s just that she needed to concentrate and meditation helped a lot.

She didn’t know how much time passed, but all she knew was that with each passing second, her body was feeling great.

Warmth was being spread throughout her body and she could feel something forming inside her head.

Finding herself in a deep state of meditation, Diamond saw herself standing in a pastoral area with unending green fields.

Curious to find out what was going on, she started exploring the place, but it proved to be unfruitful.

She just couldn’t see where she was going or coming from, but the air was refreshing and calming.

The place was just beautiful and if she were to add a lake, some flowers, herbs and crops, it would even be more perfect.

And as they say, what you think always manifests. Diamond saw that happening.

In just a matter of seconds, Diamond saw the unending green fields transforming shockingly.

A huge lake appeared a distance away from her and several beds formed, but they didn’t have anything.

On the other side, a flower field formed, looking so beautiful that Diamond couldn’t take her eyes off it.

’Just what exactly is this place!’ that was the last thing she asked herself before she fell to the ground.

Garden View Villa complex, Frin City

Garden View villa complex was one of the major villa neighborhoods where the rich and famous lived.

There was the Dragon Court, a complex with only three enormous villas and a place that not every Tom and Dick could go.

Then there was the Cherry Court, another complex where the rich splurged their money and there were just five villas.

Those two could be considered being the only courts and complexes with few villas that cost a fortune.

There were other villa complexes with a lot of villas, but still priced at ridiculous prices. And one of those complexes was Garden View.

It was a place where the rich gathered and thrived.

Inside the complex, and in the first ring, the inner circle where the most expensive villas were located, several sports cars were parked on a certain empty stretch of land.

In order to accommodate the youngsters’ passion for cars, inside the inner ring, there was a designated piece of land where cars could be parked. It was more of a car show as any car could be displayed there.

With the cars displayed there, the owners would be having fun nearby, either playing in the pool, lying on the lawn or having some drinks. It was a place where kids could play and the parents could keep a closer eye on them.

At that moment, around ten cars were nearly parked, and the noise caused by the young men and women couldn’t be ignored.

"I don’t know why they want me to attend a boring exhibition. I don’t even understand paintings. Can’t we just appreciate them when they are home?"

"It’s not you alone. My mother wants me to even attend the dinner party after that. Why should I even go there?"

"I told my sister that there will be more old folks there. Why can’t I just play with my friends?"

"I don’t know what my father is trying to do, but I think he wants to match me again. Can’t he rest?"

"Haha, even if we complain, it’s not like we can stop going."

"Alas, this is why we should have our own money. As long as we continue to rely on our parents, we will be forced to do what we don’t like."

"Who said that even when you are independent, they won’t control you? Stop fooling yourselves!"

"Let’s stop talking about something depressing like that. Can’t you see that our fairy Lena is daydreaming?"

Upon hearing that, the fifteen or so youngsters sitting on the lawn having some juice all shifted their gaze towards a young woman dressed in white, lying on the lawn as she supported her chin.

She seemed to be in a daze and, for those that knew her, they could tell that she was not with them at all.

"What’s wrong with her?"

"I don’t know. She had been like that since yesterday."

"She can’t possibly be in love, right?"

"Hehe, with how shy she is. Who can that person be?"

"If such a person exists, I want to see who is daring to steal our cabbage!"

All of a sudden, the boys and girls started arguing, and that jolted Lena from her daze.

She dazedly looked at her friends, and when she saw how they were looking at her with that familiar gaze, she sighed helplessly, knowing that she had been caught daydreaming again.

"What?" she asked boldly, though her neck shrunk after doing so.

Seeing her like that, her friends burst into laughter, completely forgetting the fight they were about to get into a while ago.

"Why ..... why are you laughing?" Lena stuttered as she asked, keeping vigilant against the friends who found too much joy in teasing her.

"Darling, spill the beans! Tell us, who is the young man that caught your heart to make you ignore us like that?" Lena’s sister asked teasingly as she moved near her.

Lena looked dumbfoundedly at her sister, wondering what had gotten into her in such a short time.

"What .... What young man?" she denied as she shifted her gaze away.

"Ohh!!! Grab her! She has a confession to make!" Lena’s sister hurriedly urged the others upon hearing Lena’s suspicious denial.

Upon hearing her sister’s command, Lena shuddered as she foresaw just how the day was going to end for her.

’Can’t these guys just believe that there isn’t any man at all?’ she could only complain in her heart as her friends surrounded her, giving her no way to escape from their incoming interrogation.

’She is going to be the death of me. I miss her!’
