SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS -
Chapter 152 - 150
Chapter 152: Chapter 150
Dielas City
"Tap, tap, tap."
Fingers drummed the desk rhythmically and on top of that desk were several opened documents that had some words circled and others underlined.
"Did I make a mistake?"
Sullivan raised his head as he looked at his efficient manager and shook his head helplessly.
"This is not your fault. It’s not like we both knew that something like this would happen," Sullivan sighed sadly as he looked at the script he was reading earlier.
Frank was also not in a good mood. There was less than a week to Christmas, and yet Sullivan had to shoot on the day itself. If he had known that the shooting would happen even on such a day, he would have refused to take on the project.
In fact, that had never been a problem at all. Sullivan was fine with working at any time. As long as he liked the work, Sullivan would go all out.
That was also the case for the current work that was putting the two of them in distress.
Sullivan had loved the script when it was handed over to him a month ago. He got the male lead character he wanted and work was scheduled to start mid-December.
That was something that they didn’t have a problem with. After all, Sullivan wasn’t an actor that worked throughout the year. He was selective and unless the script or the show attracted him, he wouldn’t participate in it.
The only thing that they didn’t take into account was Sullivan falling in love.
Although Frank still hadn’t seen Sullivan’s girlfriend, he knew that she was a beauty and someone who held a dear position in Sullivan’s heart.
Christmas was one of those festive that families gathered together and had fun. And yet now, he couldn’t even dream of seeing his girlfriend.
And that knowledge was killing both of them. With the shooting ending end of February, did that mean that unless the girlfriend drops by, Sullivan would only survive by making calls?
"Isn’t there something that we can do?" Frank asked in frustration, hoping to find a solution.
Sullivan sighed helplessly as he turned his head to look towards the window. "I guess we can only deal with the situation as we progress."
What more could he say? He didn’t want to offend the production team because of his girlfriend. And though he could afford the penalty fee, he didn’t want to be a prick.
Everyone was working so hard and most of the people working with him all had families. So why should he make things bad for others?
He might as well just think of a solution.
While they were busy keeping their thoughts to themselves., there was a sudden knock on the door.
Frank looked towards the door, and Sullivan nodded at him.
Frank walked towards the door and unlocked it. Outside was Sullivan’s assistant, Alice, the young woman who had been working for Sullivan for three years.
She was twenty-five years old, hardworking and very good at her job.
"Alice, what is it?" Frank asked softly upon seeing who had disturbed them.
Alice smiled softly at Frank as she answered, "The director said that the shoot is about to start and he wants everyone gathered in an hour."
"Oh! Okay, we will be there in a second," Frank said.
"Also, that vixen just arrived on the set. Tell Sullivan to be careful!" Alice warned before she left.
Frank showed a disgusted expression on his face upon digesting what Alice had just told him.
"I am ready. Let’s leave!" Sullivan said, jolting Frank out of his world.
Frank turned around as he walked towards Sullivan with a worried expression.
"Will you be, okay? She came to the set!" Frank asked worriedly.
Sullivan scoffed as an image of that vixen appeared in his mind.
"Don’t worry about me. I have been tolerating her for long. I will deal with her!" he coldly said as he stood on his feet.
Frank shook his head helplessly as he was sorry for that person who didn’t know when to give up. But he was also happy to hear that Sullivan was finally willing to deal with her.
She had been running rampant for a very long time and it was finally time for Sullivan to deal with her.
"Then better deal with it smoothly. You wouldn’t want this to come and bite you in the future!" Frank friendly advised.
"Hehe, don’t worry. When have I ever messed up?"
Frank could only blankly look at Sullivan, who was once again acting shamelessly, but what could he do?
Sullivan had always been like that, and he had the guts to do that.
Somewhere in Dielas
"Slurp. Slurp."
"Nom, nom. How can this food be so delicious?" a satisfied female exclaimed as she licked her lips while staring at the plate that she had just cleared a second ago.
Sitting across from her was a handsome gentleman who was twirling a glass of wine as he looked at the female with a doting expression on his face.
"Why are you acting as if you have not eaten in years?" the handsome man teased the lady.
The lady leaned back in her chair as she took the napkin off her lap and used it to wipe her hands.
"It’s delicious because you bought it for me!" the lady shamelessly said.
The man shook his head helplessly, baffled by what the lady had said.
The lady raised her eyebrows playfully at him and asked teasingly, "What? Did the cat get your tongue?"
"Hehe, I am just wondering who will be so unlucky to marry you in the future? You are no lady at all!" the man said with a deep chuckle.
The lady glared at the man before huffing, "Humph! Just because you don’t want me doesn’t mean that others don’t. I have my qualities too, you know!"
"Hehe, why are you pretending as if you grew up somewhere I haven’t seen you? Why would I need to bring a monkey into my household?"
"Who are you calling a monkey?"
"You, the person that doesn’t want to grow up. Sylvia, you are thirty-one years already. When are you going to act like an adult?" the man chided Sylvia.
"You! Aiden, how dare you say that to me?" Sylvia yelled angrily at Aiden upon hearing how he mocked her.
Aiden didn’t get threatened by Sylvia but actually scoffed at her, angering her even further.
"Aiden. I curse you!" Sylvia puffed up her cheeks as she said.
"Oh!" Aiden showed a surprised expression that only seemed to look mocking from Sylvia’s point of view. "What are you cursing me with?" Aiden was quite interested in that.
Sylvia was baffled when she saw Aiden’s reaction, but there was no way she was going to lose this one.
"I curse you to fall in love with someone you will not easily get!"
"Haha, that’s funny. How can I not get anyone that I want? Aren’t you looking down on me easily, Sylvia?" Aiden laughed heartily as he found Sylvia to be silly.
Seeing Aiden having so much fun like that, Sylvia knew that she had lost.
"Fine, whatever. Anyway, you have to compensate me. You are not allowed to say that to me!"
"Yes, yes, yes. This big brother apologizes. I won’t say that to you again!" Aiden playfully said as he looked at Sylvia with a doting expression once again.
Sylvia stuck her tongue at Aiden, all anger vanishing. It wasn’t that she was upset with Aiden. After all, she knew him pretty well.
He wasn’t out there to get her. He was just a bit too playful.
"Anyway, you need to help me find a boyfriend. My mother is been pressuring me lately. I don’t know how to shake her off!" Sylvia said, leaving no room for discussion with him.
Aiden’s brows raised upon hearing that. He couldn’t help but be reminded of his mother as well.
"Okay, I will help you. What kind do you want?"
"Find me someone in your friends circle!" Sylvia suggested.
Aiden rubbed his hand as he pondered and contemplated which friend was suitable for Sylvia.
He had seen her growing up and wanted the best for her.
However, the more he thought of his friend’s circle, the more worried he got. There was no one suitable for her at all.
"You can’t find anyone for me?" Sylvia dejectedly asked upon seeing Aiden’s expression.
"They aren’t suitable for you. Let’s take our time. I will find you someone good!" Aiden helplessly said.
Although he never wanted to be romantically involved with Sylvia, he didn’t want to see her getting hurt. All his friends were too playful and several of them had fetishes. Fetishes he didn’t want to imagine her entertaining.
"How about Sullivan? I heard that he is single!" Sylvia asked with stars in her eyes.
When Aiden heard that, he looked at Sylvia with a suspicious gaze.
"You can’t be interested in that player, would you?"
"Heh, calling other pots black. Aren’t you a player too?" Sylvia hmphed when she heard how Aiden was labeling others bad.
Aiden, however, burst into hearty laughter as he found Sylvia’s choice to be quite unexpected.
"What are you laughing at?" she asked with a glare.
Aiden hurriedly shook his head as he tried to find exactly what made Sylvia think of that friend of his.
"I am just wondering what makes you interested in him?"
Sylvia’s eyes light up upon hearing that and began to share her thoughts regarding Sullivan.
"He is charismatic. I have seen every movie, drama, series and show he has participated in. He is good and handsome!"
Upon hearing Sylvia’s reasons, Aiden became speechless.
"Are you mistaking your love and like as a fan for something else?" judging by what he just heard, he didn’t see any love of that of a woman to a man from her.
Sylvia glared at Aiden and retorted, "Feelings can be cultivated. Who knows, if we interact more, it might change!"
"Ha, stop wasting your time. I have been friends with Sullivan since the day I was born. He will never take a fancy to you!" Aiden rubbed more salt into the wounds as he said that.
"You ...."
Aiden chuckled happily as he watched Sylvia flaring up again.
Instead of letting the girl think over her head about something impossible, he would do a great deed and crush that small flame before it grows.
He didn’t want her to get hurt and at the same time, he sort of understood his friend’s taste very well. And there was no way he would go for Sylvia.
Sylvia was too outspoken and, above all, older. Although there was a two-year age gap, Aiden was sure that Sullivan loved younger girls. Which older guy didn’t love younger girls?
And thinking about Sullivan, it’s been a while since they met. And since he was in Dielas, it wouldn’t hurt to drop by for a visit and see what he was up to.
At the same time, he would think of a way to let Kian get out of his otaku mode. He was a grown-up man. Why was he always in lock up always?
’Maybe the four of us should gather and have fun before the year’s end. It’s been a while since we have all gathered!’ he happily thought as he imagined the future.
