Chapter 149: Chapter 147

Frin City

Cherry Court

"If you guys don’t come down in the next five minutes, I am leaving you all here!" Diamond yelled angrily as she looked at the stairs with her hands holding her waist.

How dare these kids take their time when she the adult was already done?

Not only did they wake up late, but they were also taking their time to dress up and come downstairs. How could they make her wait?

As it was the weekend, Diamond decided to take Ruby and the twins out. Ever since the twins arrived, they had been working daily and following Ruby around.

After hearing the report from the intermediate superior of Ruby, Diamond wanted to reward the girls. They weren’t playing around but the world dedicatedly.

Knowing how hot-headed the twins were, it was a miracle that they had successfully finished a week without causing her trouble.

And since they have worked hard beyond her expectations, she decided to spoil the rich girls and have them create good memories.

However, the girls were dilly-dallying, and it was already nine o’clock and yet none of them had come downstairs.

How could she continue to keep her calm at a time like that?

"Big sis, we are coming!" Ruby called; her voice laced with urgency.

When Diamond heard Ruby, she suddenly smiled.

At least one of them was self-aware.

Knowing that the girls were coming, Diamond left the staircase and started making her way towards the door.

"Ms. Diamond, do I need to prepare dinner tonight?" Janet asked when she saw Diamond leaving.

Diamond stopped in her tracks and looked at her as she contemplated on something.

"How about this? Why don’t you take the day off?"

"This ... aren’t I knocking off again on Tuesday?" Janet asked hesitantly upon hearing Diamond’s suggestion.

Diamond waved her hands when she heard Janet.

"Just go and rest. Besides, we won’t be here the whole day. So just go and have a rest," she said firmly, without giving Janet room for discussion.

Janet could only watch helplessly as Diamond left the villa after saying that.

Moments later, Janet watched as the three young ladies came downstairs using the elevator beautifully dressed.

"Aunt Janet, where is my sister?" Ruby asked anxiously upon seeing that Diamond wasn’t in the room.

Janet chuckled softly upon seeing that.

"She is waiting for you outside," she replied to Ruby.

When the girls heard that, they politely bid Janet goodbye before dashing outside, where they found Diamond seated in the car already.

The three of them gave each other worried glances before they nervously entered the car.

When Diamond saw that the girls were in the car, she glared at them through the rearview mirror, making them shudder with fear as they all faced down without daring to look at her.

"Next time, I will beat the crap out of you. It’s not like you didn’t know that we were going out!" Diamond complained as she drove the car away.

The girls didn’t dare to respond but listened obediently as Diamond scolded them for a while.

"Okay, stop giving me the sad faces. Brighten up otherwise. I will not spend my money on you!" Diamond threatened after a while, seeing that the girls were irritatingly too quiet, making it too tense and serious.

Upon hearing that, as if they had been injected with chicken blood, the girls’ expressions drastically changed stunning Diamond, who wasn’t expecting such a huge change.

’Did I get scammed?’ she could only helplessly think as she watched the girls chatting merrily about the places they wanted to go and what they wanted to buy.

Nevertheless, seeing them like that, Diamond was also happy as the car was more lively compared to what it was when she was scolding them.

Diamond took the girls to Radiance Mall, one of the largest shopping malls in Frin.

To bring everyone and the shopping bags later, Diamond drove her Arcadelle SUV, which had more space compared to the sports car she recently received or the Angel XI, which only carried two people.

She found a less crowded place to park before she and the girls exited the car.

The four of them were pretty, and that was something that no one would argue about.

Since they were going shopping, playing and just unwinding, Diamond didn’t bother to dress complicatedly, especially with how hot it was.

Diamond wore military green tapered shorts with a white crop top and a pair of ballet-flat shoes.

She didn’t bring a handbag as she felt that it was useless. After all, if she fell in love with a bag while shopping, wouldn’t the one she had brought be pointless?

Ruby wore a yellow sundress that matched the yellow diamonds she had picked for the day.

After staying with Diamond for that long, Ruby was no longer fearful of dressing up, especially with the expensive jewelry that Diamond was fond of buying and gifting.

Precious and Patience were indeed twins, and the two wore short jumpsuits with sandals. The dangling diamond anklets make their legs look very pretty.

The three young girls were all carrying bags, and they were giving out the rich sister kind of vibes.

Diamond’s phone and cards were in her pockets and didn’t worry about thieves at all.

With a fan that didn’t match her clothes, she walked confidently into the mall.

"They look like celebrities."

"Who are they?"

"Who cares?"

"You are jealous."

"Who isn’t?’

Diamond led the girls into the mall and began her shopping spree.

Whatever they wanted, they just looked at Diamond with puppy eyes and Diamond would swipe her card without reservations.

The four of them shopped for three hours straight and ended up with several shopping bags. They all had satisfied smiles on their faces, and anyone could tell that they were really happy.

Around lunch, Diamond took the girls to a restaurant where they found a table and settled their bags around them.

The other guests, upon seeing the numerous shopping bags, their curiosity couldn’t help but be piqued as they all wondered just who were they to be able to buy so much and in several branded famous shops to that extent.

After ordering their food, the girls waited as they chatted and laughed.

While they were in the middle of enjoying themselves, Diamond’s phone started ringing.

Diamond looked at the caller ID, and a smile blossomed on her face.

She placed the fan on the table, but none of the girls dared to touch it. They had self-awareness, and they weren’t fools.

Diamond would skin them alive if they were to touch and play with the fan.

Diamond inserted the ear pod in her ear and swiped to answer. "Hello."

[Hello, big sister! How have you been?] the caller asked enthusiastically the moment Diamond answered.

Hearing the familiar enthusiasm, Diamond beamed further.

’She never changes!’ she thought as she recalled that energetic girl.

"I am okay, and you, dear?"

[Couldn’t be any better. Have you closed yet? Are you still in Frin?]

"Um, I am still there but will be leaving for my hometown on Wednesday," Diamond answered as she tapped the table, staring at the phone’s screen.

[That’s good then. Do you have time to spare on Monday?]

"Monday? Is there something happening that day?" she asked curiously.

[Hehe, I want to invite you to an exhibition and a dinner party. I received an extra invitation card and thought of you.]

Diamond felt touched when she heard that. It wasn’t everyone who thought of her when they got hold of something good.

The last time Cecilia took her to a banquet, she had never bothered to bring her again. Maybe it was because Cecilia’s circle could buy her cream, so inviting her was no longer a necessity.

Kisha did the same and until now she had not seen a shadow of the celebrity after parting that night.

So having someone inviting her when she hadn’t done anything of great importance to her, Diamond felt that the young girl was heaven-sent.

"I am free. I can go with you," Diamond happily answered.

[Perfect! Should I come and pick you up or what?]

"Just send me a copy of the invitation and address. I will drive myself there," Diamond answered.

She didn’t want to impose much on her little angel. Besides, she preferred driving herself.

After experiencing a few banquets of rich people, Diamond understood that she needed to look the part and shake the people from the start if she didn’t want to suffer later.

Those rich people tend to look down on people they don’t know or believe that they aren’t part of the same social circle as them.

Diamond experienced a lot of drama and didn’t want to make herself suffer.

[Since you said so, let me send you a copy now.]

"Thanks, dear."

[No problem, big sis. I will see you on Monday.]

"Um, see you there."

[And greet Ruby for me.]

"I will do so."

After that, the caller hung up and Diamond removed the ear pod from her ear and safely stashed it in the case.

"Sister, who was that?"
